Recenzia hodiniek Sony Ericsson MBW-150 Executive Edition (SK)
Let me tell you how god like you and pcfixitman are! very, god like, very...
But the program is not (yet) working on the Professional version of Windows Mobile 6.
I tried it on an Xda orbit 2 (HTC Touch Cruise) and the procedures seem to match, it changes the type of device into headset, I can assign an outgoing port and I can add an incoming port. All fine.
But there seems to be an incompatibility with the OS. It spits out the following error when I select "Open COM":
Code:
smartWatchM.exe
IOException
Es kann keine Fehlermeldung angezeigt werden, da die optionale Ressource der Assembly, die die Fehlermeldung enthält, nicht gefunden wurde.
bei System.IO.Ports.SerialStream.WinIOError()
bei System.IO.Ports.SerialStream..ctor()

bei System.Windows.Forms.Application.Run()
bei smartWatchM.Program.Main()
But great work, I might marry you
EDIT: I softreset the PPC and now it just kind of worked. The devices communicated with each other, I got some output on the screen and I could make the watch vibrate. It doesn't work anymore *just now*. I'll keep trying...
EDIT 2: Since my girlfriend gave me the watch as a (ridiculously expensive) present and it didnt work till now, she - upon I demonstrated her your work - said, and I quote: "Offer that guy my body..."

This is coming along nicely, it works great on WM6 Pro. I thought about the program and came up with some proposals:
Once you port it to unmanaged code (C/#/+ of some sort I guess) can you make it use language files? Users could customize/localize the messages like that.
You could implement several control modes. Like music player control, or system msg control (show info/rss/battery etc msg) or whatever and switch modes by applying a button combination. Next/prev toggles between modes for example. You get the idea.
If possible you could even implement some kind of a plugin system. An API of some sort so that ppl could write their own extensions to use the watches ability. I can't think of anything useful yet, maybe use the watch to control the PPC which then acts as an infra red remote control for the TV. Just whatever stupid ppl can come up with
Thats it, more or less, what I could come up with.

It's too early for that.
Most important thing will be text converter (text -> hex) that will allow possible dynamic text/graphic output to the watch (reading SMS/Email...). The display is 96x16 so even 2-line output would be possible.

Yeah, I got the same idea. First I'm gonna make some switching modes in WM application util everything will be optimized.

I've heard about remote control already. Plugins... Too early to say ....
Anyway, I'm still working on improving stability (dummyproof, avoid any crash), better (faster) event handling and adding new features.
Hmm, finally someone made a wm plugin for this great piece of hardware
Have been eying it before, but without a wm plugin it was pretty much useless.
When I get the chance I'll buy one for sure now.
Will check out on this thread for the progress you make
Well of course it's waaaay to early for all that, I was just thinking out loud. Thats all. But putting graphics/multi line text on the display, oh god, buddy, you could charge 20 bucks for that thing if you'd finish it
It's working great btw, I tested it quite hard today. I ran across the following:
If the watch is out of range and you get a message, sWM crashes because (thats what I read out of the message) it tries to access the non-existant device on the com port sending the new msg notification:
Code:
bei System.IO.Ports.SerialStream.Write()
bei System.IO.Ports.SerialPort.Write()
bei System.IO.Ports.SerialPort.WriteLine()
bei smartWatchM.Form1.timer2_Tick()
bei System.Windows.Forms.Timer._WnProc()
bei System.Windows.Forms.ApplicationThreadContext._InternalContextMessages()
bei Microsoft.AGL.Forms.EVL.EnterMainLoop()
bei System.Windows.Forms.Application.Run()
bei smartWatchM.Program.Main()
schaggo: I tried calling my phone while watch was out of reach - without any crash. So maybe I have corrected it meanwhile.
schaggo, what watch do you have? MBW-150?
I have implemented few more features (battery status (5-level), notification repeat, new message type (envelope + message type)...) so you may test & report.
For now, sWM offers even more features than Sony Ericsson phone (in case you dont use Media Player control and dont need reject incoming calls).
I have an MBW-150 Classic like you.
And it makes me freak out, because I owned a SonyEricsson P1 and was going nuts because the watch worked so well and all features *cough couch lol* were supported. And on WM nothing worked. But SonyEricsson actually was wrong, the watch has as many features, as the agent on the phone can control. So, well, let's say sWM is f***ing exciting! I'll get on testing...
I just downloaded the newest version (0.1.3.1 I guess).
I ran intro a problem though. I can't successfully establish a clean connection anymore. It hangs at AT+CCLK? and before that throws ALOT of ERROR: No data. Press... to start. at me. It does that again after a couple seconds. The watch just continues to connect (<<<<<<<B>>>>>>>)

Waiting for connection. Press a button on watch to initiate connection.
Edit: Strangely though, it seems to work now. I tried a couple times with disconnecting, turning bluetooth on and off on the device and the watch, and now it seems to work.
This may happen from time to time if sWM doesnt respond to all initiation commands. It's probably because watch was already sending commands when you press Start. But I'm not 100% sure anyway. Even I have to deal with this sometime...
Turn on/off BT on both watch and WM. Try waiting few seconds (before you press button on watch). Or restart your WM. This helps a lot.
EDIT: I have done some fixes in v0.1.3.2. I believe this prevent from that error as much as possible.
EDIT2: One more time... v0.1.4.0 should be more power-savy, and has faster responses.
Ok, downloading V0.1.4.0 and testing. I'll report back in once I find more stuff to complain about
GREAT .....
Great Work .....
NOW, I can finally buy myself the BlueTooth / Abacus for my WM 6 PDA !!!
You must continue.
THX
I found the new version to be very very fast. Congrats on that!
From time to time the watch reports a lost connection though.
Watch and PDA are on the table and out of the blue the watch vibrates and shows lost connection. Dunno if it's a fundamental bluetooth problem or some communication errors with the program.
Another thing: my mum called me today and the watch only vibrated without showing the number. I gonna run a test right now: Indeed, the watch only vibrates without passing on the number. It shows the "Missed call" though after I hang up. Did you change anything in that routine?
Edit: Minor annoyance spotted: smartWatchM doesn't speak foreign languages, ë for example shows up as ? on the phone...

This never happen to me. I lost the connection only if I leave room without my phone. I guess this may be weak BT. Or maybe WM close sWM because of memory?

I've just checked that and it should still work. If the watch rings without showing phone number/caller name, this is result of
wrong initiation. I tried that several times today and got this error only one time. Exiting the application and starting again helped. My only advice is: Do not immidiately start the communication but wait a while. My connection is successful in 95% tries. BTW, I do not turn off BT.
I will test sWP on other devices.

Does it display "ë" with SE phone? I think the watch support only ASCII. I will add feature that will unaccent the characters.
I doubt that WM closes sMW. I'm a memory freak and I immediately close every application I don't use anymore. And the Touch Cruise with 128mb RAM should be stong enough to run sWM
I guess I'm to dumb or the Bluetooth stacks in our phones are *not exactly* the same, hence the inconveniences. But they are minor and not really something to care about at this point. But as you said, restarting the program and turning bluetooth on and of usually resolves the problem very quickly.
As for the accent, I don't know. I'd have to check that. Let's see where I can get a SE from
(I actually have 3 laying around... just to lazy to switch sim cards )
watch+bluetooth headset?
I have an HTC Athena, it is possible to have connected in the same time the watch and a bluetooth headset? If is possible it will be the perfect combination....
Hi,
great thing it should work on WM6, because I got the watch as a present, and me or them did not know it would only work with some phones.
I have a question for you: How do i enter the registry values on windows mobile 6 (smartphone)
i installed PHM Registry Editor, and i can enter all keys and values but don't know how to do this one:
sdprecord"=hex:36,00,32,36,00,2F,09,00,00,0A,00,01,00,00,09,00,01,35,03,19,11,01,09,00,04,35,0C,35,03,19,01,00,35,05,19,00,03,08,01,09,01,00,25,09,47,50,53,20,52,46,63,6F,6D"
I tried to add a binary value with value starting from 36,00,.... and so one, but i couldn't enter all of it due to maximum characters. Kind of stuck here, anyone an idea?
Yeehaw!
Can't wait for the next version!
The latest one so far looks promising and works like a charm.
Thanks!
I've been searching for a solution to this problem for a while, but it seems like I'm the only one who this is happening to. Since the DST change earlier this month, my Touch Pro won't stay on DST after a re-boot. After syncing it with my computer (I have all the DST updates and stuff from MS), it goes to DST. I've let it wait for the network to fix it, I have an active sync with Google's exchange server, but it only goes to DST after a physical sync with my computer.
The even weirder thing is, while both the clocks in the TouchFlo interface and the clock in the WM6.1 settings dialog display the wrong time (i.e. after a re-boot), PocketShield displays the CORRECT time on the lock screen. This is really odd, since I thought the time in PocketShield was based on the WM clock. The only other application I can think of that uses the clock is G-alarm... but other users have reported that their DST issues were not related to G-alarm.
there is an issue it has to do with your carrier not your phone I had the same issue. go into your setting for the clock and turn off the auto update on startup. That will fix your problem. it is probably just the tower near you having the issue. I had the same issue. I have found references to other types of phones having it to. Strange but true.
Are you running TF3D2? if you are, NEVER tap the clock in it - there is a DST bug in it.
ALWAYS use the "Settings / System / Clock & Alarms" program to adjust your time.
Always apply WMDST2008-1.CAB and WMDST2008-2.CAB files to your PHONE. A lot of Cooks seem to leave them out.
Always switch OFF the "Automatic change time zone and clock" option in Phone / Time Zones.
yeah, I'm having this same problem. However, mine changes to an hour forward about 30 mintues after I change it back, doesn't require a reboot of the device. I can't figure it out.
Mine is okay on the Today screen, but the clock icon is off an hour, must be a DST bug, though what is odd, my clock icon in the top bar is a old style hand clock and not actual time numbers, not sure when it changed, if it was an app I installed or some setting I screwed without realizing.
I will look into the suggestions above.
Thank you

If you launch the phone dialer/Dialpad, Menu/Options/Services. Scroll through the services choices, and you will find and option for time synchronization. Make sure the settings for this is set to Time synchronize with the mobile network.
As long as the network is set to DST, so should the devices clock.
At least I know that this is the case with my TP on Sprint.
Hello,
in Oreo I could just tap hold the text and disable the notification, iirc. In Pie I just get the info that notifications from this app can't be disabled (System UI). I tried System UI Tuner as well but it didn't work as well.
Did anybody achieve this already?
@ChazzMatt
Could you please drop some knowledge?
I have Do Not Disturb activated at all times so I don't need to be informed about it.
I stayed on stock rooted Oreo, so have no day to day knowledge of LG Pie quirks. Sorry.
However, on a similar note, I reverted back to older version of some apps (My Data Manager being one) -- where newer versions insisted upon putting an icon up in the notification bar area when they are running. That particular app runs all the time and I have a widget on my pull down bar which tells me my monthly data total at any moment. I know it's running in the background, but I don't want to see an icon all the time up in the area where NOTIFICATIONS go. Keeps making me think I have new mail, a new text, something....
Up until about the time Pie came out, I could manually disable the notification bar "badge". With updated versions of the app I could not. So, I reverted to older version from APK Mirror on mine, my wife's, my mother's phones and UNchecked auto update on Google Play for that app.
There's other apps where I stay on older versions for functionality reasons.
Thank you for your insights!
Seems like I should have stayed on Oreo.
On another note I fiddled around with Automagic and was able to hide notifications for the system app System-UI altogether, but that also hides some other notifications I'd like to keep. But it shows that it should be possible. In SystemUI Tuner you can add custom tweaks if you know the right variables and values. Maybe someone knows where one can find the right values.
The solution that I'm using now is setting a custom sleep duration via System UI Tuner to 9999 and only having to worry every few months about it.
Does anybody know what's the maximum duration?
