My hero isn't letting me format my 2gb microSD card.
I've unmounted the card, pressed format and nothing appears to happen.
I can mount the card to my pc and see all the files on the card, so it's not corrupt.
Is there an app that will allow me to format my card?
I've been trying to format my SD card for most of the day. I simply can not get the card to be formatted in my phone/usb card reader.
I can write to the card but it's refusing to format. This seems strange to me? Does anybody know of a work around?
Yes I did reboot but still says the sd card is not there under settings, however if I boot via xRecovery I can access the sd card with the xRecovery menu
I did try deleting the android folder on the sd card, still no help I guess I could tryu a different sd card when I get home
well getting further, it wrks with my 2gb sd card just not with the 8gb card even when I did a reformat,
I have used partitions on my old rooted phone where I thought the sd card had crashed because of partitioning it. Now I have removed the partition and I am still getting problems. Then I formatted my whole micro sd card using windows. Whenever I insert my sd card into windows via my phone, it asks me to format it.
Why has micro sd partitioning wrecked my sd card???!!

I am also getting the bad zip file error on android! I am beginning to believe that partitioning has destroyed my sd card permanently!
Ok so I wiped and formatted my SD Card to FAT32. I am in the reboot/recovery screen of my android with ClockworkMod and I noticed when I turned on USB Mass Storage, the SD Card is readable but there is nothing on it now. Is there any important files I am going to need to put on the SD Card for my android to function correctly on start up/running? Or will my android automatically put the correct files on the SD Card on boot? Haven't tried booting it yet lol..don't want to screw it up.

There is no need for an external SD card to boot into the OS. You can start your system without the card or with the card erased or w/e. Good luck .
i have a i9300 and when i try to install an app to the sd card it force closes and unmount the sd card. when i try to mount back the sd card i get an error saying the sd card is blank but if i remove the sd card from the phone and insert it back it starts to work again. until i try to install something again it will behave has i stated above
Any help regarding this plz?
