xda for sale - MDA, XDA, 1010 General

For people in holland ;o) I live in the east of holland and have a XDA running se1.2 works 100% with the box etc
Using a P800 right now so the xda is for sale, if you really interested email me at [email protected] i bought it for 800 euro's 4 months ago.
Greetzzzzz
DvL
(btw if anyone knows a good place to sell or buy an XDA please add a reply in this forum, i am sure more people are looking to buy or sell his/hers XDA)

p800 better
So if you're selling the XDA the P800 is better?
I was looking at the P800 but didn't think that the upgrade was worth it. So I went for a T610 instead. I wanted a proper mobile phone back again.
If you could post a few thoughts on why you have gone for the p800 and not the XDA I think that a few people here would read your findings...
Martin

ehhh
ohh i love the xda, but it is a little clumsy.. i always used an ipaq before and an ericsson gsm with it..
but when i started to use the XDA i noticed that i actually never carried the ipaq with me so often.. ok for work i placed it in the suitcase and left it in there and only used the ericsson.
So the only reason that i stopped using the XDA is that I find it a little to big to carry around all the time, the p800 is not an xda but is way easier to carry around, and for making appointments it is great too, i thought about the spv but that one has no touchscreen thus not a phone for me ;o)
I hope ipaq will make a xda like phone but with a little smaller screen, i would be so happy
DvL

Hi there,
no way to sell it to Italy?
Cheeers,

I have a boxed new samsung A800, if anybody is interested in any kind of trade with an XDA please let me know, comes with earphone/personal hands free, brand new boxed unused.

Forgot to mention I am in UK.

sold
lol Sold the xda for 400 euro's not bad value.. seems the xda's are still worth loadsa dosh (money)..
Have to say that this symbian operating system on my p800 is not bad at all.. loads of java games etc etc.
anyway. i will wait till there is a cross between a xda and a p800 that is what i would love.... prefereably with 2 sim slots

Ive dropped my xda :'(

I dropeed my XDA 2 and it now has a big chunk of case missing near the on/off button. luckily (i think) its on the black plastic bit which seems to be fairly easy to get off,
but can anyone help me find spares?
I've been to the o2 site for help but that site is as much use as an ashtray on a moterbike if you ask me :x
Any help would be appreciated
Elmo
Check on e-bay to see if anyones is selling a dummy XDA 2 and change the casing over, short of that go to the O2 shop and see if they can put you in touch with anybody who can get the parts for you.
try http://www.pdasmart.com/pdaphone.htm
see this for comments http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=4070&highlight=screen+replacement
also search this site, I've seen many people who had their XDAs broken
Thanks for the ideas
I keep checking ebay for cases, broken units and such like but havent found anything so far..
I hadn't thought about the dummy unit...Funny thing is... I did see a dummy unit for sale just before i bought the real thing and it went for about a tenner  . I think thats called 'sods law'
Also checked a few other sites using the link above and emailed some companys cheers for that.
I reckon there a market here for parts..... I mean as if they wont get dropped at some stage? You can get replacement pc/laptop cases and you dont walk round with them in your pocket do ya??
just need to find the company thats selling them and buy a shed load of them.
Maybe these will be of benefit to some people, a sort of dropping preventative:
https://www.egrips.com/catalog/prod...d=290&osCsid=31fe81c28fe1d8b6445ce6da229a745b
Failing that, super glue your device to your hand.
had the exact same thing happen to me - plastic above the on/off button. I tried poking some black electrical tape down there and it looked pretty good at a glance, until the tape's stickiness wore off.
Same thing here!
I managed to chip one small piece off the black antenna cover very close to the on/off button. But I used a small amount of my daughter's Play-Doh (molding clay) and carefully filled the small hole with that, then when it hardened, I painted it black with a permanent marker
It worked just fine.
However, I want to replace it as soon as the parts become available...
Best regards,
Rayan
Cool site this - 'BlueTack' wasn't mentioned once!

As far as I know, they're long since out of production - Orange sold off their stock back in January !
Any reason you want the TG01 in particular?
I would go with something like the HD2 (then android it), or the HTC desire if I could have afforded it at the time.
TG01 is powerful, but the perhaps not a smart choice anymore (unless you can pick one up cheap, which is the beauty of them lol).

I have got one TG01 already and quite satisfy with it, just wanna buy it for a friend.
I think in terms of cost-application, that phone is the best ^^
Yup, in terms of value for money they are ace
So there is no TG01 available in the UK except for Ebay, isn't there?

[q] Why LG Optimus One P500?

(,"o Yeah Man ~
All Optimus One Users..
Let each other know why you choose this Handset instead of other High-End Android Device..
So The Question Is..
WHY LG OPTIMUS ONE P500 '?
Well... because probably many of us aren't rich enough to buy a Samsung Galaxy S or S2
BUT aside that obvious financial reason... at the time the conciliation between the pricing AND the phone specs just seemed unbelievable to be true so I took my chances and I'm not regretting at all having this phone! Although I am now tempted to try the Ideos X5, however I am not rich nor can spend more money at the moment so... I'm sticking to my good old fashioned P500
because good price/performance ratio
Best in its price range with hell lot of features
For the price, its basically a g1 w/o the keyboard and has a slightly higher processor. Its not a bad phone

Long Story ^_^
well here's my story.. lol
back in february me and my wife are in hurry buying phone coz we both lost our phone back in november 2010.. we went to a shop near our location and she was in a hurry getting SE X8.. now its my turn to choose what phone should i get
honeslty i dont have anything in mind @ that time' my last high-end device was Nokia N70 hahaha.. then i grab Samsung Wave. first thing i did was go on youtube and watch video' i was a bit dissapointed coz the video was pixelated' i tried to play the same video on X8 and it was not pixelated. Then i gave back the phone to a sales personnel who took care of us. Then i found LG GT540' its pretty fine but i dont like the resisitive touchscreen' and we're running out of time coz its almost 10pm and the shop was about to close. then we went home the other day we went to a mall to buy something (not a phone) then while walking' 1 guy gave us a slip of paper (flyer) and it was an advertisement of LG Optimus One Limited Edition (glossy cover) w/ silicon case & bluetooth headset. Hell Yeah ^_^ the following day i search about LG Optimus One' i found out that its a cheap pretty decent android phone then after a couple of days we went to LG Store and purchased it..
that's my Optimus One Story .. LOL
and im so damn happy how it works now..
im not considering buying another android handset' i am now looking forward to Asus EEPad Transformers ^_^ we'll buy it on December Yeah Man ~
sorry for my english
To be honest I only had cheap flip phones before this one I decided I would spend some money and get a good phone for once. Went to the store, started checking out some phones, took a look at the Blackberry Curve 9300. It was on sale for a good price, and the plans they were offering at the time were good.
Bought the blackberry, found out I hated it after having it for 5 days. I have buddies with androids and they love them. So, back to the store, and I exchanged it for this nifty phone. Best part was that it was 80 bucks cheaper. Now I don't think I'll get anything else, best bang for the buck. I lost my old one and rather than get something different I just bought this phone again.
Then I found this site and now I don't think you could pry my P500 from my cold dead hands.
Thanks XDA for fueling my android addicition
Because my mother only allowed me buy a $0 dollar handset at my Telco. So i picked this instead of galaxy mini

I didn't know much about phones at the time and I just picked this one because I thought I wouldn't need a high end device. It turned out to be an awesome pick and it's a very good phone, but if I had to repick now I would of gotten a higher end phone.

This is an extra reason for acquired this phone
There was a half-off introductory sale for the Optimus One last year. I read about it and it became a snap decision to get one. Half off was 6500 pesos (around 151 dollars) unlocked. My friend and I went to the mall at 9.30 am (it opened at 10am) and sneaked into an open fire escape / side entrance and sat there until 2pm.
We were the first ones there, even before the employee who opened the store arrived. Then he shooed us away since it was against their agreement with the mall to have a crowd before the actual sale. When 10am hit, we heard a stampede of people running towards the store and before we knew it, we went from first to 17th...
I failed the upcoming exam because we stayed there and couldnt focus on reading. Then I failed the next exam since I bricked my phone within the week of getting it. Good thing the warranty was still there.
This phone is awesome Thank you talented developers of xda for making it super awesome!

Bye Bye Venue

I have to say good bye to Venue, I am disappointed because I truly think this is a good phone, but just too many ways to make it fails.
I think the first party to blame is Dell, compare to Samsung, HTC or even LG, Dell did very little to promote or help this phone, not support or update for almost 1 year, for Dell to catch up they should have do much more, regular update is a must thing, and look it's still 2.2.....
Also not promotion means no accessories! Even up to today I still can't find a case for my Venue, no, basically no where will sell even a case and even extra battery is a no where to find, people simply don't know what is a Venue.
So Dell you fail and a lesson for me, I will never again to buy any brand that is not popular, bye bye Venue, Hello Samsung!!
Venue - not for you. Bye bye)
If you dont want your venue anymore you could donate it to me to dev on
Dell's roadmap stated that they only intended to support it for 3 months or so, but we know that gingerbread is coming out (eventually) Why only 3 months is a real question, it's really stupid, but they still sell them after being out nearly a year
They pretty much only sell them though their website so you cant really expect much in the way of accessories for a device with so little visability. They never advertised anything but the s5, and that was only for about a month (and the commericals were kinda stupid anyway)
Updatewise, consider this, there's still quite a few devices even newer then the venue that's still stuck on 2.2, ones that can be considered near-flashship devices. Though many of them are skipping straight to ICS/4.0, which I wouldnt expect for the venue.
Yea venue is not for you, you want to be one of the crowd than one for a crowd.

You did not look very hard for cases. I just bought a Venue and have three cases for it. The leather horizontal one from Dell and two I bought on eBay. I also have Otterbox Commuter and and incipio feather snap-on cases.
I just went through a period of looking at the new phones that were recently released and was underwhelmed. For me the choice of a solid phone that works well without having another two year commitment to AT&T is worth more than the having the newest hardware.
As TheManii mentioned why not donate it to him to dev on if you think it is useless?

I agree. for it was the excellent hardware + the no contract crap with cell phone service. I'm quite happy with my phone. The upgrade will come eventually. And I trust the developers here at xda to come up with a rooting method for 2.3.3 by then =)
Well guys no sure where you are from but at my place (Hong Kong ) we have new phones come out almost every month. As I stated I think this is a good machine but really the support is too little, of course I can go internet to buy a Outterbox but at the same time most of the other same period phones (HTC SAMSUNG etc) case can go as little as US$5 here, plus everyone else is using 2.3.4 or even 2.3.5 and many will promise to go ICS, but where will we see the light of DELL?
Sorry I cannot donate it out, I traded in my Venue for about US$120, which the same period HTC can still go for US$200 here or more, that tells something......
I changed to a new Samsung NOTE, it is amazing, the speed the screen the camera plus more.... I do ask you guys to try it if have a chance, then we will really see how a long way that Dell fall behind, in just less than a year. Do we still want to waste time to DEV Venue?
I just think Dell blew it and feels bad that I think at that time Dell were doing a good job....
If you're in hong kong I'm surprised that you cant find cases for it.
There's plenty of cases on ebay and I'd expect at least a fair amount of them originated from hong kong.
Please don't buy PDAir case - it's sucks)

I may sound like some sort of Liberal, but I would not recommend buying Chinese/Asian "manufacturers" for 2 reasons:
1) Chinese products tend to not work correctly (about 60-70%)
2) Many of these "workers" are people in forced labor or even slaves. I know it sounds crazy but watch a Documentary about counterfeit items and stuff and you'll know what I am talking about

I am a union man but I have to say I don't agree with your "liberal" view.
My experience is that 95% of the stuff I have ordered on eBay from China functions exactly as described. I see many of the same products for sale here except with a 200% markup over the eBay price. I do agree that if it is an item that you need to depend on for work or something that may cause mayhem if it fails, yes there is no substitute for quality. A case, OTG cable, HDMI cable, or a screen protector isn't in that category, for me anyway!
Have you looked at how many holidays they have in China? Most are not oppressed slaves....they work hard to get a leg up.
God made the heavens and the earth in six days......everything else is made in China.....

I bought this a few weeks ago. I got it for 9 bucks then its now 15 but its a really nice high quality durable portfolio type case. Plus comes with a 3 year warranty. So even for 15 bucks (still beats the 30-40 Ive seen them else where) still a good deal. And doesnt add much bulk. Everything still easily accessible except for the sd card slot. Its covered of course.

What is even better when I bought it in May (still had not been made LOL). I got it for $6 the next day was up to $15. I knew I was going to have to wait awhile so I bought a tab 3 silicone cover from bumps and drops (ports really don't match but an exacto knife solved that problem!). I got an email from Amazon that because they were taking so long they were stopping the order. I knew this was going to be a good case so I e-mailed the Supcase people and they said not to worry and the product was almost done!
When the time did come I was right this thing is great. It protects like an otterbox but is quite slim! Have dropped the tablet many times and doing great. But, I guess they rewarded my wait because they sent me second one absolutely free! To me that is great customer service!

P.S I know this took more than five minutes to write if they freaking block me again I am going to scream!!!!!!!

A dying breed.... due largely to exportation of jobs and aggressive right wing union busting.
I'm an inactive member of IBEW and AFTRA (because I no longer work in that industry) and belonged to bargaining units when I was a county employee.
Unfortunately, many people don't recognize that American workers get vacations, paid sick leave and holidays, health insurance and many of the other benefits we enjoy thanks to the contributions of organized labor, even if they don't belong to unions themselves.
The union influence is eroding because spin masters have re-branded union busting as "the right to work," and many people see unions as their enemy, not their best friend in the workplace.
I usually hate bumper stickers, but I smile every time I see one with a union logo and the slogan "United we bargain, divided we beg."
