Does anyone want to trade ? - MDA, XDA, 1010 General

Does anyone have a Siemens SX56 wit AT&T that they want to trade for a T-Mobile ???
I am about to try to switch the T-Mobile over to AT&T but I thought I would check first to see if anyone would like to trade?
Thanks
Rick :?:

Trade what though? They are the exact same phone, cept for the case has a slightly different color.
You would go through the trouble just to get a different color case?

maybe he have not unlocked the phone
not that thats as much trouble as sending 2 phones back and forth

All ya need to do it like spend 10 minutes of your life and you can unlock the phone very easily.

OK
You talked me into it.
Thanks
Rick

RICK! simply go to Jeff's Kitchen (in this website somewhere)
select the windows you want (2003/2002)

Must be getting blind
Jezus, its time I replace those lenses, I hope i kissed my wife goodby this morning and not somebody else his wife.
ummm ur confused
I'm not so certain that T-Mobile USA will carry the MDA II or perhaps they would call it PPC Phone II. With all the new devices coming out, Motorola MX, HP 6000, these devices maybe picked up in the US, before the MDA II and in fact the MDA II may never see the light of day in the US. HTC seems to be way behind production anyway. It is hard to get the device period, let alone a mass production for the US. With all the new devices coming out I'm wondering how well HTC is going to be positioned for the world market, let alone the US, in this form factor.
Hard sayin Mate.

ive talked to some guy at t-mobile and they said some time in march it would come to the market but he wasnt certian hnmmmm
Everything I have heard has been that T-Mobile will not be releasing it here in the US. Apparently they are going to market another device here.

im wondering if theres a place where the t mobile market keeps a secret to the public to when the xda2 will come out to tmobile stores or if they ever will

I agree with you about the price, $650.00 is about as much as I'm willing to spend and thats with tax included.
hmm i want to buy a xda2 but not on ebay and i live in the us where could i get one
I agree too!!!!
I agree with all of you guy about the price, is too expensive to spend more than $700 for something that you won’t have technical support /warranty/ US plugs, and staff like that!!!!!

Yes it seems that everyone is out-of-stock at the moment. I just came from Thailand and had no luck either.
But have you not given that Expansys link above I would not have noticed a great looking inexpensive new powerPC phone on their pages that is similar to XDA.

Phone seems interesting and graphics chip performance looks REAL good too. I'd like to see more reviews on this one.
.
It does look like an interesting PDA/phone . . . but not having BlueTooth for wireless headset NOR WiFi does limit the device a bit, doesn't it? Sure, it supports SDIO, in which you could use a WiFi or BT card - but not both simultaneously. I use that configuration a good bit with my i-mate.
Still . . . it is good to see the line of available products expanding - pushing the envelope is a good thing!

I agree. Competition should push prices down too
Ps. Anyone know how to get hold of this device??

its a shame everytime i start a new thread, its usually about mishaps. i have only been lucky with my still kicking HTC TYTN. i luv and respect u a lot. anyway, just paid £300 for a brand new Ameo(HTC ADVANTAGE) yesterday. and just this morning, its been BARRED. tried ringing the seller, but i guess he know he pulled a fast one and his phone number is unreachable. i love the handset still. if anyone is interested in buying pls PM me. never buy a phone off anyone on gumtree. there are all dodgy.Tmobile Customer service has been quite helpful and they did say the will be waiting for the man to make an insurance claim before they deal with him.its a shame they wouldnt gimme back my money. i am guessing this phone wouldnt work in UK.
take out the sim and then change the imei number then put a different sim back in. it should would work

That won't work, the Ameo uses completely unsupported hardware unless I'm mistaken. I hate scumbags like that and I'm sorry to hear of your plight.
My Ameo's on Ebay if you wanna buy a cheap one with extras.

Your phone CAN be unblocked by T-Mobile by authority of the owner, so it might be worth coaxing them into putting pressure on this tosser.
[email protected] is your best port of call.
EDIT:
YOU might not be aware, but despite its blocked status you can still use the handset for Internet browsing. Blocked phones are only blocked against using voicecall/SMS functionality.
i think i just bidded on yours.. that is if its on ebay. So, vodafone texts work, and internet works? just calls that dont?
rory

yeap, its the same handset. you can only send txt with Vodafone but not receive. if you make a good sensible offer, i wouldn't mind ending the auction early for you. the only reason i am giving you preference is because we both belong to the same forum. like state b4, it wouldn't make or receive phone calls.
220? or wait til' the auction ends
for £255, we have a deal. its been unlocked with Olipro thingy and its got the official wm6 tmobile rom on it. its ur call mate. am already losing money on it if i sell it for £255. out of curiosity, how do you intend to pay?

Flashing from Qwest to Verizon..

I have a Qwest Mogul, and from what I can tell, it's the same model as the verizon mogul. My question is, can I flash it with the newest Verizon rom? Do I need to unlock it or do I just flash with the verizon rom and that's it? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
You might want to follow the instructions to go back to the Verizon stock ROM in the WiKi, then get it working on the Verizon network then you can put on Custom ROM/Radio ROMs. But before you do that I would call Verizon and make sure they will take that phone's ESN. Some of the carriers won't take other carrier's phones even though they are the same model.
Curious
Just curious to see if there was ever any outcome or more official info lately about whether the Qwest HTC PPC 6800 Mogul can be flashed to Verizon service.
I just picked up one of these for a great deal to replace my current VZW phone as it seems to think it is at the end of it's usable life and I don't want to re-contract for two more years just to get a new phone.
I have been in several forums and googled until the letters wore off my keyboard and I keep running into dead ends on this subject.
Figured I had better resurrect the threads and see if anyone ever got anywhere with this request.

If your motherboard is still good just put that into the Qwest Mogul, and off ya go. That is what I did when my digitizer cracked. I got one like new for $40 swapped the mobos and got a new phone with all of my original info (rom, esn... ect.) 8 baby screws and 2 beers is all it takes.

I just spent 2 weeks last month to find out that VZW's new policy is to ban Qwest ESN's even if they were allready active on their nutwork.
I was grandfathered in with one of my Qwest 6800's, then I switched service to my 6900, and when I tried to go back it took 2 weeks and 3 level 3 techs to end up finding out that $55.oo an a new 2yr. renual (15mo. into old),
and I got a BNIB XV6800.
Now the TP in on sale for $99.99 with a 2yr., but a $70.00 mail in rebate, makes it 1/2 the price I just paid.
Oh well I don't think the TP is as solid as the TITAN...

Trying to go from sprint to telus

I just bought a sprint mogal to replace my burnt out p4000. I tried installing the telus cab, nut couldn't get it to connetect to telus (and I did change my settings in the ESPT using the new ESN numbers etc with my old telus defult settings that i wrote down... all of them) I was still getting the roaming probs. I tried *22803 as well as ##MSL# to no avail. So I figured maybe it would be best to down flash to stock telus Rom and radio and go from there. So I used titan relocker (to replace my nue SPL 2.47) and tried to flash the stock rom. Now I am getting a ERROR 294 invalid vender id.
Does this mean that I can't use this phone on telus? I just shelled out dollars thinking it would be no biggie to switch it over. Am I missing something?
Thanks for any help....
Surprisingly I am not freaking out yet, just enjoy another programing puzzle lol
You need a telus prl. Also you can't relock a sprint phone and install a Telus rom. The phone has to be unlocked to install the telus rom.
i have had a situation that does not shine much hope on your situation. i used to work for telus and was provided a diamond for testing purposes when they came out. it had a problem and our htc rep sent me a new one straight from taiwan. now heres the kicker -----it could not be activated untill the esn was entered into the system on the back end by telus, this took well over a week. this is far from a standard esn exchange. never in two years of working with telus have i been able to get the data network assistance guys to enter a non telus branded phone. the super tight back end activation will not allow it.
i really hope im wrong, and i hope someone will respond to this and make me look foolish, but they would not even accept ne bell pda's which r essentially the same phone minus the existence in the telus master database.
oh man i cannot wait till the tech switch next year so this will no longer be a problem.
as a last resort, i do have a p4000 i nolonger use as the call and end buttons no longer work, but all the touchscreen options make it still quite usable. if u would consider some sort of swap, i do not intend to exchange any $$$ of ne kind, i am open for suggestions. i just see no point of my old p4000 sitting around when it could be used
Alas krazycanuck82 you are correct. The kicker is that next year they told it this would no longer be a problem. I am waiting to receive an email from Telus tonight about what options they can give me on a new phone based on a sorta promise from me that if they can't give me a deal I will just buy out the last year of my contract and shop around. So we shall see. As for the Sprint phone. I will still be using it for other apps for the time being so am not to concerned on that front. Just a lesson learned to never assume LOL.

[Q] Which HD2 to buy (UK)?

OK so I'm getting bored of my X10i as there is pretty much nothing you can do with it and I'm probaby going to go back to a winmo based phone.
I've had many x1s and loved that phone however I want something new, I've also have the Touch Pro2 and while it was brilliant I found the camera rubbish and it was just too 'thick'.
I've decided to go for the HD2 (I think after the x10 I wont notice a massive size increase, except screen obviously) however I'm stuck between getting a 2nd hand one which was on T-Mobile or Orange (UK for both).
The 'physical' branding on the T-mobile handsets seam less obtrusive so I think I'll go for that. My question is does anyone see a problem in getting an (UK) T-mobile branded HD2, debranding it and flashing costume ROMS & chaning the radio? I'll be using it on Vodafone (UK).
Thanks for the help, hope to be visiting this part of the forums more over the next few months.
you should have no problems at all with either, the phones are identical. might have to pay fifteen quid to get it unlockedbut that's it.
sam is the expert so no worries on that score. But i would advise caution on buying a second hand hd2. Just make sure the phone has no issues due to heat problems.
I know quite alot of hd2's switch off when they overheat and this results in normally needing a new motherboard etc. so make sure you test the phone before you buy it.
Good luck and i am sure you will luv your new phone.
Brilliant guys, thanks for the advise. Unfortunately I can't text the phone as I'm buying from CEX (I have vouchers to use plus I'm getting aboutn £200 in vouchers for my x10).
If the worst happens I have 12 months warranty or I'll just send it to HTC to get fixed... hopefully...

Ahhh i see. in that case mate i am sure it will be fine. It really is a great phone. Perhaps you should check out an energy rom?
Enjoy the phone!
I actually used the Engery ROMS on my X1 so I think it will be good to get back to it!
Thanks again guys!
I got mine from cex and it was on o2. Get a grade a stock as this is like new. Mine had the seal on everything even the phone hadn't been used on the network.then I went to the link on the o2 websiye and they give you the unlock code for free.
