Band switiching tool in USA - MDA, XDA, 1010 General

Just to be clear, I have a rom kitchen 1.2 rom, and an o2 uk xda. When I switch to 1900 nothing happens? In fact, none of the three bands work?

I did a search on this and it says that an international call bar has to be lifted by o2 to enable calls from usa on their sim, they give this
number to call to check if this is enabled, might help. 0870 860 860

xda band switching tool
My Simm card works in other tri band phones here, so the ban has been lifted, any other clues?

Have you tried changing bands using the bootloader method? Dont know if that will help but it is worth a try.

I don't know how to use the bootloader method? Can you tell me how?

Press the stylus into the reset button on bottom left (screen facing you) of the xda, while holding down the on/off key, this will put you in bootloader mode, then press the right hand key pad at the top of the screen, choose from there. You will see all the options gsm900 gsm1900 gsm900/1800, hope this helps.

I have done that and still nothing. However, i don't know how to exit the mode properly, all I do is reset the phone again, is their a proper way to exit this tool?

From this site.

Now these look a lot nicer than they may be. We still haven't tested whether the device is actually a tri-band phone that is just software-limited to being a dual-band phone, but postings on the net seem to indicate that it is not actually a tri-band phone. But even though we think we know, we still need someone with access to a European phone in the U.S. or vice-versa to test this. We haven't tried, and we strongly advise against trying "DEBUG/CALI.", "GSM RFCAL" and possibly even "GSM RESET", unless you really don't care about the device. Options like these are used in factories where they have lots of expensive RF equipment to calibrate each individual phone. If you don't listen and still want to try these options, make sure you keep a good log of what happens, and please do tell us!
Over the next menu, this time after starting the bootloader and pressing the 'Action button', which is the center of the rocker key below the screen. This time, it quickly reports the GSM was already on, and then displays:

T-mobile, no signal on 800 network band

Hi I'm a newbie here, I just got upgraded my t-mobile to Rom version 4.01.00 eng, before it was 4.16.00 eng, it has a signal from my network but when I upgraded it, I didn't get any signal from my network but when I try to select networks my provider reflects on the list as well as the other networks. Is my t-mobile worn out?
thank you for all the help you could give me...
You could try entering bootloader to make sure 900/1800 is selected. I think this hard resets your phone so backup first. Hold power button while pushing stylus in reset hole, push button below antenna, choose 900/1800 then soft reset.
t-mobile no signal
thanks for the help, but still it didn't work, any other ways?

Stock o2 UK ROM - Where?

Hi folks, can anyone point me in the right direction for a stock uk o2 rom?
I have been asked to look at my brother in law's S740 but am beginning to think something is corrupt. I have a thread in the general section if anyone wants a look.
If one is not available, is there a generic english ROM around?
Many thanks.
EDIT: I did find on, linked to from this board but unavailable. I found the same file elsewhere, but it told me it was the wrong one when I tried to flash it.
Hey,
Odd it won't install if you really have an Orange. I tried it on my 'Asia' S740 and it gave me the same error but now that HardSPL is available thanks to jocky2001 I was able to install the Orange S740 rom! I thought update had failed because it stuck at a generic 'Operator' boot screen FOREVER but eventually it did finish booting & initial setup. Bad news is that although the rom seems to work I can't get a signal. Perhaps the radio has been highly customized for Orange, not sure. The odd thing is everywhere I've looked says the Orange S740 is Quad band & even shows 850/1900 on spec pages but those are not even options in band selector.. Anyhow, if you want to give the Orange ROM a shot, try jocky2001's hardspl (worked for me) and maybe you'll at least get it installed.
Bill
Thanks Bill.
To be honest, I don't know what operator it was on before I was asked to look at it, as it was found discarded in the box with all the bits - in a bin!!!
Maybe thats why.
Are the orange ones branded as such? This has no branding apart from the HTC emblem.
Wow lucky you! Hey I think I lost my S740 near that bin.. You might install jocky2001's hardspl then at least try the Orange UK & Asia ROM's. Both roms refused to install on my S740 (HTC told me it originated in Singapore but even Asia ROM refused to intall) but after hardspl I can install either rom.
As far as branding, I've not seen an Orange S740 & the Orange site shows no logos or such but I will tell you the Orange logos display on bootup after installing the Orange ROM vs just HTC logos with the Asia ROM. They do seem to have different apps installed by default but didn't dig too deep to determine which. Pretty sure the Asia ROM auto-configured data settings for me but the Orange one required connection wizard cab although it didn't help much without a signal.
Btw mine says ROSE100 FCC ID:NM8RSV P/N: 99HFB012-00 behind battery if that helps
So does yours even boot or stuck at bootloader or what does it do to make you think the flashed rom is corrupt? Did you try a hard reset to clear settings? Often that works if someone did/installed something that mucked it up.
Bill
Ps. Here is the link to the ROM's I used. The Asia rom has English (is default actually) & seems to be true Quad band enabled vs the Orange which seems to be just dual band since it doesn't show 850 band & although 1900 is listed it won't connect to it for me even though I know AT&T has 850 & 1900 in my area: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=599520
EDIT: OK seems it does support 1900 but only if you manually select 1900 from band list. I tested with both TMobile & ATT SIM's and get a signal. The ATT signal is weaker than normal though because normally the 850 band is a lot stronger in my area than 1900. Field test confirms it's running on PCS/1900 band not 850. So far I found no way to get 850 to work but odds are there is a way since the radio supports it. (Works with Asia ROM on same phone)
It wasnt the ROM file that I thought was corrupt, it was more a case of trying to refresh / reload the various rom sections back onto the phone as there is nothing in the way of phone signal.
There is an image of the problem in this thread - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=648169 - if you haven't already seen it.
I'll give it another go, but when I tried to flash an asia rom both before and after jocky's SPL it just throws up the "invalid vendor ID" error.
Yeah I assumed you meant the ROM on the phone was bad not the file.
No I hadn't looked at your other thread, I had just posted on this one because it was about the ROM. I get that symbol when I put in a bad/disabled SIM. I think it just means there's no service but emergency calls can still be made if there is a signal. The symbol is different if there is no SIM. Does it give you a 'locked' error indicating it's SIM locked to a carrier? Maybe the SIM slot is bad.. Or maybe the phone was reported stolen so the carrier is blocking it.. Have tried to run fieldtest.exe with a SIM in to see if it is indeed connected to a tower? Not sure what band it'd show for you but for me it is either 850 or PCS even if bad/disabled SIM is installed indicating it does have a signal for at least 911/emergency calls. Anyway, I'd hope you at least did a hard reset clear storage at least already & next do hardspl & install either original orange or Asia rom. I can confirm both posted on xda work on my S740 (aside from lack of 850 band on Orange rom) after installing the hardunlock where they did not work at all (same ID error) before the unlock..
Ok, here's the results of my testing, without having to install Jockey's SPL.
Both ROM's you refer to flashed ok. Obviously I didn't try to hard with the Orange ROM as I dont have an Orange sim to try.
I flashed the Asia ROM with success but still have the problem of no service.
HOWEVER, after having a play with the band and network selection settings, it now asks me to select a network, but the only one listed is T-Mobile.
Again, I only have an o2 sim to try as this is the preferred operator my bro wants.
This now leads me to believe that T-Mobile is the only one listed because it is locked to that carrier.
My assumption may be totally incorrect as my knowledge of phones is pretty much zero, but if this is the case, would you or anyone else know of a way to unlock it pretty much for free, lol, especially now the HardSPL is available.
Sorry, I meant to answer you other questions at the same time.
It could be the slot is bad, and I'm pretty sure it's not been blocked by the carrier as it was found by a cleaner working in an office.
In the bin were the box, phone, CD's, headphones and USB cable.
Even the little square pages of literature were there.
Its almost like it has stopped working and the owner has just taken his / sim out and binned it. !!
There hasnt been any locked error either.
I'll try that fieldtest next.
EDIT: I put the phone down for 10 minutes while typing this and getting fieldtest, only to pick the phone up and now have Orange on the "choose network" screen. I'm going to leave it overnight and see if it can get o2, lol.
Cool you got the roms to install but very strange it would let you without hardspl.. Btw, Orange ROM does not mean you have to use Orange SIM. Note that the Orange ROM has a newer radio which is worth a try too. For testing I'd leave the band stuff on auto unless you're sure you know what you're doing because it's easy to set it to wrong band & assume you get no signal. lol And I'm sure you want O2 but worth trying any valid SIM you can find just to see. But yeah the network select trick is helpful too just to see what is available but it can show different results depending on what SIM is in it, status of that SIM etc. If your phone was locked to a carrier it should tell you so when you 1st boot up with a SIM from a different carrier in it. And after searching I see nowhere that TMobile has ever had branded S740 so doubt seeing just TMobile in list is an indicator of being locked to Tmo.
Sounds like a SIM issue since it is doing the same as when I put a deactivated SIM in. I'd say either the SIM socket/contacts are bad, SIM isn't inserted properly, incompatible SIM (maybe they are super old?) or possibly the phone had damage to either antenna or water damage that ruined something. The more SIM's you try the better to narrow it down, especially if you were able to get your hands on an active Orange SIM.
Of course it's possible the phone's IMEI has been blacklisted as stolen & that is causing your phone to not be able to register on a network with SIM installed. From everything I've read when a phone is blacklisted it'll either say an error about not being able to register with network or simply show no signal as if a deactivated SIM was installed. I'd say if that is the case they'll come knocking on your door since they'll trace it back to your account. hehe US carriers don't seems to partake in the blacklist system so feel free to ship it to me & I'll test it here for you.
Well, just to close this thread.
I tried various ROM's available from this site and none worked.
I did have limited success as posted above but overall, nothing. The phone has now gone back to the person who asked me to look into it and to my knowledge he is going to sell it to one of these phone reclaim companies.
I did check and one place, I think throught the post office, is offering £80 ish so not bad I suppose.
Anyway, thank you to all who have made suggestions and wotnot. Personally I'm still happy with an old Nokia 6300 and my Wizard (Mini-S)
Thanks folks.

[Q] NO 3G just Edge after dropping my phone

Hello Guys,
I am so desperate and frustrated, hope you can help me!
I dropped my phone from 2 stairways height.
It was working so i didnt care, but when I came home I noticed that I had no reception!
So as I have bought the phone from Germany Amazon.com and using it in Turkey, I had no warranty (even if it said I have!!) I decided to open my SGS2 (I9100) and see if anything was loose. I lifted the pins that touched the middle housing and now I have reception for phone calls all the time thanks God!
But I have no 3G at all, what happens is that is some times shows G in the status bar but never with a + sign near it. I saw + sign only once or twice in the last couple of months.
I called my operator which is Turkcell and they said that my contract is on 3G so no chance on that side. The wierd think is that my phone works with no other SIM card than mine which is 5 years old!
Can anybody help in order to solve my problem? Is there a diagnoses tool that will help me test my SGS2 in order to find the errors?
Thanks for reading guys, I'd really appreciate some help.
Hmm I'd check my APN settings first, make sure they didn't randomly change for some reason. If that failed, I'd factory reset. If that failed I'd flash a new firmware+kernel+modem, and check my APN settings again.
If that failed I'd open it up again, disconenct and clean the antenna wire, reattach and hope for the best.
If that failed I'd suss out what is the most appropriate looking part/area of parts to replace, then replace it with either that specific part, or a pre-assembled part with the surrounding parts attached.
If that didn't work I'd list it on ebay as clearly stating the phone is damaged, outlining the problem and sell it "for parts only". Lots of people pay good money for damaged smartphones. Just make sure any sensitive data/pictures etc have been securely removed before selling it.
The problem with reception was fixed with lifting the pins that touched the middle housing but, stand by :
I think I never had 3G since I bought that phone from Germany.
I feel so stupid!
I read through more and more and I found that article:
androidforums.com/samsung-galaxy-s/258859-how-enable-850mhz-3g-network-frequency-your-samsung-i9000-galaxy-s.html
It mentioned about the modem frequencies so gave it a try.
dialed the number * # * # 1 9 7 3 2 8 6 4 0 # * # * as stated and bingo!
My modem doesnt list GSM 2100 which is the deault frequency for 3G in Turkey!
But the article doesnt mention how I can ADD GSM 2100 from the menu that dialing that number took me.
Any help with this is appreciated!
First, that article is for am i9000, which is the S1. But that's largely irrelevant because the service menu code still works.
Second, this phone doesn't get GSM 2100. Never has. It gets WCDMA/UMTS 2100. GSM is for voice and 2g, WCDMA is for 3g/HSPA. Looks like you went to the wrong option. (GSM, instead of WCDMA, like the article said.)
Third, you CAN'T add frequencies, on that menu or otherwise.
Thanks.
So why is that my phone connects with only Edge?
Can this be a hardware problem where everything else works?
Maybe these setting are wrong? Or maybe it has a SIM lock? but it works with Turkcell
Is there any manual so that I can these settings_

You said above you don't think you ever had 3g. Maybe your carrier uses 3g frequencies this phone simply doesn't receive.
For example, this phone well never get a 3g signal on T-mobile USA's network, because the phone doesn't receive 1700 UMTS/WCDMA. This is one of two required bands on AWS... Which is the band T-mobile USA uses for 3g and "4g". If your carrier uses AWS for 3g, it won't work on their network either.

No this is not possible. Turkcell is using 2100 Hz.
I have bought 3 phones from amazon.de site. The other 2 phones are working.
I have to get my settings set properly, to make sure its a faulty product, so that I can return it.
There are menu options like HSPA revision, GCF, bank selection, service domain, acquisiton order etc..
Where can I find what they have to be?

In that case, just go back to that service menu, debug screen - phone control - network control - band selection. Make sure this is selected to automatic. You can make sure all available bands for this phone are selected on in combi bands. If they're all selected on, then it sounds like it could be a hardware issue.
EDIT to add: OR it could be a modem issue. Maybe try flashing different modems?
Turn back time and don't drop it

Amaze is compatible with frequencies:
GSM:
850, 900, 1800, 1900 MHz
UMTS:
850, 1700/2100, 1900, 2100 MHz
Data:
HSDPA+ (4G) 42.2 Mbit/s, UMTS, EDGE
Have you had ANY phone work on the idea network properly? Same with the airtel?
For starters, switch from WCDMA only to Auto or GSM/WCDMA.
See what this post recommends:

Yes, my other mobile which is Xperia Pro (MK16i) works fine with all the networks here in India...but i do not understand why Amaze is not working on 3g network while I am able to use 2g service (both data and calls) on the same network...

How about ask your local service person for the correct settings, or hopefully someone on this board who lives in your area can post theirs.
Is there an OTA specific to your phone?
While not the case with you currently, it may be important if you travel--there are some areas where certain carriers don't have that coverage:

some help needed
Plz friends can anyone help me with this... the aircel operating frequencies for 2g and 3g are 1800 and 2100 (my assumption)... the device is not at all working with an aircel connection (not even on 2g)... I am currently using idea network which is working fine with 2g but not 3g... when I try to search for available networks manually also, I am able to see 2G networks for idea, airtel, vodafone, and bsnl (aircel and some others again missing) and no networks at all when in wcdma only mode... when I switch to wcdma only, the idea network also vanishes completely....
I am not able to figure out what to do with this...
There are many Indians in amaze forum and former members, reach out to them and see if any one of them used your carrier, and see if they had the same issues or not

Aircel uses 900 and in some places possibly 1800. Do you have a data plan? Have you spoken with a support person with any one of your carriers--they're used to things like this and getting in the proper settings. I would strongly recommend that.
Check the Settings->About Phone to find out which version of android you have, and if you are running a custom ROM or not.
Do all of that first--make sure you have a data plan, speak with a support person, find out a little about your phone.
If you are stock check with your support person if there is an upgrade for you, also.
If you are NOT stock, you might want to go back to the Stock GB or ICS (remember to update the radio also) so your phone will be basic and stable, to be sure it will work at all with data. Once you've determined if it will work with data, then you can try one of the custom ROMs if you like, but NOT JellyBean or KitKat, as they are all problematic.

I think it should still work. The tech should be able to give you settings regardless of the device origin--you're still paying for a plan, and some support should come with that.
Nevertheless, check this to make sure you have the right settings.
You "may" also have to call T-mobile and ask for unlock code for your phone--they will ask you for the IMEI.
I don't know if necessary, but have read something to that effect--that in using the Amaze 4G in another country, you need to have the phone unlocked. I'm sure someone else on the boards here will let us know.
The back cover houses the antenna, and yes, it could be the antenna, but unless you have another back cover to test it with, it will be best for you to check the settings first, and then see if it needs to be unlocked.
Then come back here with what you've learned--it'll help me learn too.
The ad said that the phone is unlocked... I purchased it from Ebay and I have a prepaid connection with the provider.. it is "pay as you go plan" so I guess they wont provide much help as I have seen customer care people putting their hands up many times saying it is a problem with the device and they cannot help...that's y I was trying to get some help here on the forum as someone else could also have faced the same issue and can help me with their experience...

Besides the firmware update, there has been a separate radio update.
I think these are the most recent updates:
Software number is 2.14.531.30 710RD
Baseband version is 1.15.550L.08DC_30.80.550L16D
It's possible that your phone will work with them.
Does anyone else agree?

Besides the firmware update, there has been a separate radio update.
I think these are the most recent updates:
Software number is 2.14.531.30 710RD
Baseband version is 1.15.550L.08DC_30.80.550L16D

You may be able to just put the official OTA on your exernal SD card and flash through recovery--not quite sure yet.
I gotta see some of the settings info, so for starters go into your settings->about phone, screenshot the page that appears and also scroll down to any new pages, and post screenshots here.
How to screenshot:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1885386
After that, reboot the phone into recovery following these instructions, and screenshot the recovery screen and post it here also:
Power the phone off and wait about 10 seconds after the screen goes black to be sure it's off->hold Volume Down button, while doing so press the Power button, and release both buttons.
The phone will boot to bootloader, should say hboot up top, and have a little list below it.
If you can't screenshot it via the previous method, note if at the top of the page is says Locked or Unlocked, and if it says "S-Off" or "S-On", and note the version of hboot so you can post the info here.
Use the power down button to highlight the list item "Recovery", and then press and release the Power button to enter the recovery. After recovery loads, note if it returns to a screen just like the hboot screen, or if says in it "TWRP", "CWM", or "4EXT" or any such other thing, and screenshot that or get the info and post that here also.
Now that you've learned what sort of state the phone's in, you can reboot from whichever screen you're on, and have your phone back to normal.
Once you're back with your phone booted, you'll find a screenshots folder in gallery most likely, else you'll have to search the phone with a file manager app or google to find it, but check the gallery first.
After that we'll look for the proper update and update method for you.
Hopefully by then someone else will come along and say something like "All he needs to do is download this "Official OTA" [link included] and put it on the SD card and flash it via hboot"--hopefully, 'cause I may be making this more complicated than it needs to be.
Here, let me repeat that, "Hopefully by then someone else will come along and say something like "All he needs to do is download this "Official OTA" [link included] and put it on the SD card and flash it via hboot"--hopefully, 'cause I may be making this more complicated than it needs to be."
In bootloader, it is showing as:
Unlocked
RUBY PVT SHIP S-OFF RL
HBOOT-1.93.0003
OpenADSP-v02.6.0.226.00.0202
IN RECOVERY: Team Win Recovery Project v2.3.3.0
I have also added screenshots as attachments for the about phone setting menus.

You did a good job with that--thanks. Hey, you're in good shape--everything is new enough.
You need to Super CID your phone, and then flash a rom for one of your local (in India) carriers.
Super CID instructions:
http://unlimited.io/juopunutbear.htm
ROM for carriers:
Sorry I can't provide the link--I'm having a helluva tough time searching.
Maybe by the time you've Super Cid'ed your phone, someone else will tell us where to find a proper ICS RUU for India.
Thank you
Thank you for taking out time for helping me...can any other rom (other than the T-mobile) working... and I dont know what is RUU..lol.. I am pretty new to these terms.

In order to use the phone in your country you need to have one of your carrier's firmware on the phone so it is compatible.
You can't put their firmware on your phone until after you've performed "Super CID". After performing that, other carrier's firmware can be flashed to the phone.
RUU restores the phone to factory condition. Let's not concern ourselves with that just yet--follow the instructions to Super CID.

Verizon DNA in Europe, can't connect to 4G

i have a Droid DNA, s-off, bootloader unlocked, super cid and custom 4.4.2 with sense 6.0. i have 4G on my other phone (HTC One M7) and want to use my sim in the droid. i only get 3G. what can i do to connect to 4G?
It probably doesn't have the bands for your providers 4g
The only LTE band enabled by default on the Droid DNA is band 13.
You will have to enable the other bands to make it work.
1.) Install original factory ROM (You could use another ROM but I don't know how to get to Diagnostic mode in others such as CM11).
2.) Install a custom kernel. I has to be created from source, not stock.
3.) Download and install QPST and QXDM.
4.) Plug in phone, let it install the drivers
5.) Type: ##3424# and then hit send, let it install all drivers. This will take a while, ensure it completes before attempting to continue.
6.) Open a file browser and navigate to the "C:/Program Files/Qualcomm/QPST/bin" folder, and start the program "QPSTConfig.exe" (run as administrator by right clicking).
7.) I had two devices listed under the "ports" tab. Only one mentioned an ESN, it was the SURF9615.
Note: If it isn't showing up already under the "ports" tab, go to "Add New Port". Select the one that has 9k in it. You may have to untick "Show serial USB/QC Diagnostic ports only" to see it.
8.) (OPTIONAL, ***But highly recommended***) Now select the QPST Start Clients > Software download > Backup > Start. This saves a backup copy of your phone's stock NV memory to your computer in case you need it later. (I would also recommend that you write down the original values before you make any changes.)
9.) Again in the QPST Configuration program, go to the "Start clients" tab. Start "Service Programming" program. Select to load your device. Then click "read from device". This will send your SPC program code, which should be 000000. This will allow the next program to work.
10.) Next, run QXDM Professional (again, right click and run as administrator).
11.) Change the "view" tab to "NV Browser".
12.) Go to the communications tab in the menu of QXDM and tick the line that lists your device. Under "Target Port", make sure it lists the COM for the device that mentioned 9k earlier.
13.) Once it has loaded the NV items, go to the line 06828 and click "read".
14.) Click once in the box with the current value (should be 4096), and then edit it to be 0. Then, tell QXDM to "write" the value by clicking that box at the bottom right of the program.
15.) You may now click the box again and change this line to reflect whatever band(s) you want to enable.
Now, do the same for 06829.
Tip: You can calculate your own values for this or download the program called "Qualcomm NV Calculator" (It is free). If you use this program, you will use the LTE Bands Calculation tab. You will need to go to the menu in the top right corner and select "LTE Bands Calculation" and tell it that you want to "Use QXDM Notation" in order to get the right values. Enter the decimal result for the 6828 & 6829 values.
Reboot your phone. It should now have whatever bands you have selected enabled.
I know this looks tedious but literally takes about 30 seconds after doing it a few times.
Note: Other programs that you may find useful are "LTE Discovery" and "Network Diagnostics".
did it a 100 times.. with all the band combinations that i could get out of that program.. still not getting 4G signal.. so i think i won't be able to use 4G.. will stick to the 3G. by the way the bands for Romania are : 3,7,20. in NV the code is : 524356

Sorry to hear that it didn't work. Many qualcomm devices are capable of all bands, but it is possible the DNA is not. I did notice on my device that 4G seems to be disabled altogether when I did this on Verizon. So, maybe there is something I've missed.
maybe we are doing something wrong.. i see that more Qualcomm phones are able to see more lte bands (see oneplus one).. so maybe if we use a CM ROM?? i guess it could be ok, because in Diag (*#*#4636#*#*) after selecting LTE it goes back to WCDMA in a flash.. after unlocking all bands when i select LTE is says no service.. so who knows.
The 4G radio in Verizon phones is drastically different as the frequency is different. It isn't AWS like a majority of other 4G radios. Sadly it might never work without changing the hardware out which will cause major issues.

This may not be completely accurate. This method has been used on several devices it would appear: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2291589
Also, if you look down in this post, it appears that some phones require you to manually select that you want to activate the bands by dialing *#2263# (or some variation of this) and then selecting the bands that are desired: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1547114
It may* work on the DNA. In the end, this may be a hardware related issue, but is is likely just a software related one (I believe). I honestly believe this is essentially the same hardware as the Butterfly with different radios and software. It is fully capable of using the bands you are wanting. However, this is just my theory and remains to be proven.

Those aren't Verizon variants. Those are phones that were built with AWS in mind. The DNA is a CDMA phone with a few GSM bands built into it because Verizon told HTC they wanted a global phone and told them the bands they wanted and the ones they wanted excluded from the phone. There have been ex DNA and ex Rezound (another HTC global phone for Verizon) users who have tried for quite awhile in trying to get these "magical hidden" radios to work and it all came down to that they aren't there in these variants.
You can search and dig up old DNA and rezound threads from years ago and see the amount of work done.
Edit: Checked the old threads. The GSM bands for the DNA is as below. It doesn't support the 1700/2100 (ul/dl scheme) of AWS LTE as it is missing the 1700 in its radio altogether. The phone would need both 2100 and 1700 in UTMS to allow the correct 1700 up link and 2100 down link connections. This phone just lacks the hardware.
It wasn't made to be a GSM only phone. It was initially meant to be used on Verizon and work on international carriers when going on holiday.

I appreciate your input, but did you read the OP or my posts fully?
If you did, you should realize that I fully understand that the Butterfly isn't a Verizon variant, it is the other way around. I was suggesting that there is a possibility that the phone might be able to unlock additional bands because it is basically the same phone as other GSM variants only branded and modified for Verizon as you can see here: http://www.gsmarena.com/htc_butterfly-5118.php
This has been done in the past with other devices including Verizon devices such as the GS5, LGG3, etc as discussed here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s5/general/how-to-add-rf-lte-frequency-bands-to-t2886059
While, I expect you already know this... It all boils down to the fact that R&D cost money. It's often cheaper for manufacterers to slap the same hardware in a device and modify the software to the liking of carriers such as by limiting the bands.
By the way, if you read the OP you would know that band 4 LTE is useless to the OP because he is trying to the phone in Europe, where there is no carrier using that band. You list the bands that the phone has been approved for, but as I mentioned above but other variants of this phone exist that utilize the bands the OP is looking for and there is a strong chance those variants share the same hardware. As mentioned above, this has been true for many other devices. I researched the topic and never found any conclusive proof that they can't be unlocked, so I felt like it might be worth his/her time to give it a shot since the method I listed is pretty easy and safe.
The Rezound is a much different device. It has no GSM radio. I would never have expected it to work on any GSM network...anywhere...ever. About the only things they have in common are that they are both produced for the Verizon carrier and use (different) snapdragon processors by HTC.
I do appreciate your input.

The Rezound does have a GSM radio. A number of users including myself have used it on other networks. Me personally, I tested it on T-Mobile and AT&T and got edge speeds. You are discussing a carrier who purposely burned out the FM radio in the Verizon M7 so it would not be functional. While you are right, HTC might have allowed the bands be made on the radio, it is highly unlikely. Others have tried. Some have even tried doing NV edits and didn't get it to work. This isn't the first time this subject has come up. The DNA can get some HSPA bands, some have tried to get some HSPA+ to work, some have tried getting 4G to work, one actually burned out his radio doing an incorrect NV edit. It has been tested before. HSPA in the US can only work on the refarmed areas. This has been talked about. HSPA will work in other countries that use the above bands specified.
If you are dealing with a carrier that will purposely tell the manufacturer to burn out an FM radio to force internet music streaming, why wouldn't they tell them to make a special radio for their variant? The reason the SGS5 and HTC One M8 work is because of the processor used, this phone is too old to work.
LTE in Europe
Hi, I live in Europe and in my coutry my carrier provides LTE, I've done the radio change with QPST and QXDM as described in post #3, I've enabled all the bands, but without luck.
I've the latest radio and hboot, tried some build.prop file tweas for LTE as described here, still no luck.
May be it's just a matter of some other setttings in buld.prop, but after many trials I think it has to be the radio, what blocks other LTE bands.
I had a bad idea to flash the radio made for HTC J Butterfly (HTL21), but I'm afraid of it (hardbrick), rather to find out, if it is the radio, what causes the problem and if it is, than figure out, how to edit the original radio (if it's possible).
Have anybody tried edit the radio or just able to read out something useful from it?
Somebody created a custom radio for Samsung devices as described here so I think it could be possible for DLX to.
