Amaze is compatible with frequencies:
GSM:
850, 900, 1800, 1900 MHz
UMTS:
850, 1700/2100, 1900, 2100 MHz
Data:
HSDPA+ (4G) 42.2 Mbit/s, UMTS, EDGE
Have you had ANY phone work on the idea network properly? Same with the airtel?
For starters, switch from WCDMA only to Auto or GSM/WCDMA.

Yes, my other mobile which is Xperia Pro (MK16i) works fine with all the networks here in India...but i do not understand why Amaze is not working on 3g network while I am able to use 2g service (both data and calls) on the same network...

How about ask your local service person for the correct settings, or hopefully someone on this board who lives in your area can post theirs.
Is there an OTA specific to your phone?
While not the case with you currently, it may be important if you travel--there are some areas where certain carriers don't have that coverage:

some help needed
Plz friends can anyone help me with this... the aircel operating frequencies for 2g and 3g are 1800 and 2100 (my assumption)... the device is not at all working with an aircel connection (not even on 2g)... I am currently using idea network which is working fine with 2g but not 3g... when I try to search for available networks manually also, I am able to see 2G networks for idea, airtel, vodafone, and bsnl (aircel and some others again missing) and no networks at all when in wcdma only mode... when I switch to wcdma only, the idea network also vanishes completely....
I am not able to figure out what to do with this...
There are many Indians in amaze forum and former members, reach out to them and see if any one of them used your carrier, and see if they had the same issues or not

Aircel uses 900 and in some places possibly 1800. Do you have a data plan? Have you spoken with a support person with any one of your carriers--they're used to things like this and getting in the proper settings. I would strongly recommend that.
Check the Settings->About Phone to find out which version of android you have, and if you are running a custom ROM or not.
Do all of that first--make sure you have a data plan, speak with a support person, find out a little about your phone.
If you are stock check with your support person if there is an upgrade for you, also.
If you are NOT stock, you might want to go back to the Stock GB or ICS (remember to update the radio also) so your phone will be basic and stable, to be sure it will work at all with data. Once you've determined if it will work with data, then you can try one of the custom ROMs if you like, but NOT JellyBean or KitKat, as they are all problematic.
Check this post for instructions:

And as ravike14 said, "There are many Indians in amaze forum and former members, reach out to them and see if any one of them used your carrier, and see if they had the same issues or not."
I have a data plan activated...I have not done any change in software...the current version is 4.0.3..and aircel network is not at all working on my device..that y using Idea network (that too working only in 2g mode)...I cannot have support on the device as I purchased it online from someone else...and it is not a device which is for India... it is a T-mobile device..Do you this change of ROM will resolve this or will it still remain the same... can there be a problem with the antenna (but 2g network is working fine)....

I think it should still work. The tech should be able to give you settings regardless of the device origin--you're still paying for a plan, and some support should come with that.
Nevertheless, check this to make sure you have the right settings.
You "may" also have to call T-mobile and ask for unlock code for your phone--they will ask you for the IMEI.
I don't know if necessary, but have read something to that effect--that in using the Amaze 4G in another country, you need to have the phone unlocked. I'm sure someone else on the boards here will let us know.
The back cover houses the antenna, and yes, it could be the antenna, but unless you have another back cover to test it with, it will be best for you to check the settings first, and then see if it needs to be unlocked.
Then come back here with what you've learned--it'll help me learn too.
The ad said that the phone is unlocked... I purchased it from Ebay and I have a prepaid connection with the provider.. it is "pay as you go plan" so I guess they wont provide much help as I have seen customer care people putting their hands up many times saying it is a problem with the device and they cannot help...that's y I was trying to get some help here on the forum as someone else could also have faced the same issue and can help me with their experience...

Besides the firmware update, there has been a separate radio update.
I think these are the most recent updates:
Software number is 2.14.531.30 710RD
Baseband version is 1.15.550L.08DC_30.80.550L16D
It's possible that your phone will work with them.
Does anyone else agree?

You may be able to just put the official OTA on your exernal SD card and flash through recovery--not quite sure yet.
I gotta see some of the settings info, so for starters go into your settings->about phone, screenshot the page that appears and also scroll down to any new pages, and post screenshots here.
How to screenshot:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1885386
After that, reboot the phone into recovery following these instructions, and screenshot the recovery screen and post it here also:
Power the phone off and wait about 10 seconds after the screen goes black to be sure it's off->hold Volume Down button, while doing so press the Power button, and release both buttons.
The phone will boot to bootloader, should say hboot up top, and have a little list below it.
If you can't screenshot it via the previous method, note if at the top of the page is says Locked or Unlocked, and if it says "S-Off" or "S-On", and note the version of hboot so you can post the info here.
Use the power down button to highlight the list item "Recovery", and then press and release the Power button to enter the recovery. After recovery loads, note if it returns to a screen just like the hboot screen, or if says in it "TWRP", "CWM", or "4EXT" or any such other thing, and screenshot that or get the info and post that here also.
Now that you've learned what sort of state the phone's in, you can reboot from whichever screen you're on, and have your phone back to normal.
Once you're back with your phone booted, you'll find a screenshots folder in gallery most likely, else you'll have to search the phone with a file manager app or google to find it, but check the gallery first.
After that we'll look for the proper update and update method for you.
Hopefully by then someone else will come along and say something like "All he needs to do is download this "Official OTA" [link included] and put it on the SD card and flash it via hboot"--hopefully, 'cause I may be making this more complicated than it needs to be.
Here, let me repeat that, "Hopefully by then someone else will come along and say something like "All he needs to do is download this "Official OTA" [link included] and put it on the SD card and flash it via hboot"--hopefully, 'cause I may be making this more complicated than it needs to be."
In bootloader, it is showing as:
Unlocked
RUBY PVT SHIP S-OFF RL
HBOOT-1.93.0003
OpenADSP-v02.6.0.226.00.0202
IN RECOVERY: Team Win Recovery Project v2.3.3.0
I have also added screenshots as attachments for the about phone setting menus.

You did a good job with that--thanks. Hey, you're in good shape--everything is new enough.
You need to Super CID your phone, and then flash a rom for one of your local (in India) carriers.
Super CID instructions:
http://unlimited.io/juopunutbear.htm
ROM for carriers:
Sorry I can't provide the link--I'm having a helluva tough time searching.
Maybe by the time you've Super Cid'ed your phone, someone else will tell us where to find a proper ICS RUU for India.
Thank you
Thank you for taking out time for helping me...can any other rom (other than the T-mobile) working... and I dont know what is RUU..lol.. I am pretty new to these terms.

In order to use the phone in your country you need to have one of your carrier's firmware on the phone so it is compatible.
You can't put their firmware on your phone until after you've performed "Super CID". After performing that, other carrier's firmware can be flashed to the phone.
RUU restores the phone to factory condition. Let's not concern ourselves with that just yet--follow the instructions to Super CID.

I recently got an unlocked AT&T Atrix off eBay. I was mucking around with the *#*#4636#*#* menu trying to fix a minor connectivity problem where I couldn't connect via UMTS, and by the chain of unfortunate events I managed to set the frequency to USA band. Now, since there is only USA band to select, I can't set it to any other band, I am in Australia and only pick up 2 other networks which are not mine.
Is there anything I can do to get it back to the unlocked state so I can find my network?
I remember with my Galaxy S, there was a recovery mode that could wipe everything, is there anything like that with the Atrix?
Thanks in advance!
I don't mean to sound asinine but can't you just do the same thing and select the correct information?
You could also do a full reset on the device or flash it too.
No, only the USA band is there, I cannot select anything else It came unlocked already so I'm not sure how they did it.
I'm hoping there is a way to fix this without resetting or flashing it.
If it comes down to it, is this the most up to date flashing guide? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=991072
Thanks again!
Vol Down+Power
Select Android Recovery
Click right bottom of screen
Wipe out
Then you are all clean
If your phone is rooted, you can manually input the proper carrier information in
settings > wireless & networks > mobile networks > access point names
A quick google search or call to your provider should be able to get you the information you need to enable data
On the other hand, the AT&T Atrix doesn't support UMTS 1700/2100, so if that's the band your carriers run on, you're SOL trying to get 3G.

actually the AT&T atrix supports 850/1900/2100 UMTS bands so it does work for overseas carriers that support 2100
im actually using it right now in Hong Kong and they use the 2100 band for 3G, no problems with data at all
apparently the OTA update fixed your issue with the USA band for some people who had the problem. i think they did as follows flash to the retail sbf, than let everything stock, get the update over wifi install it and the radio worked again.

No this method doesn't work ..
I was in a similar situation 2 days ago. So, the first thing i tried was do a Android recovery. After this method failing, I went to the last stop, Flashing of the 4.1.26 SBF.
And I jumped with joy to see my Atrix seeing the GSM signal again.
I had 3G before this had happened so I know it worked on my network.
So just follow this guide and I will have my GSM signal back again?

Correct, I should have stated it was an intended fix if he hadn't of fiddled with it (i.e. his connectivity issues) as it installs all the correct APNs and settings for you (However it does not add default, tether - just default so be sure to update it for tethering)
you should put [SOLVED] in the title so people know where to look for the same problem ;D

Hi all,
First time poster, long time follower!!
I'm hoping someone can help me here because i have a real headache with my galaxy s2.
When i got it at Christmas everything was perfect. But two weeks later i suddenly lost my 3g. Phone works fine on 2g (except for the slow speed), but i contacted my carrier 3Ireland and they said everything is fine on their end. My APN is perfect, i've tried toggling airplane mode, entering codes, data package checks. You name it and i've tried it.
When i force my phone to select 3g it looses all signal and i have to restart my phone and quickly go back into settings to choose 2g or i will loose signal again.
This is the following on my phone.
Android version 2.3.5
Baseband version I9100XXKI4
Kernel Version [email protected] #2
Build number GINGERBREAD.XWKI8
I've being reading about modem/radios lately, is that just the baseband? Could that be my problem. I'm a noob at this kinda thing.I just want my 3g to come back.
All help is greatly appreciated. Look forward to hearing from you all.
Thanks.

It would be interesting to know your SGS2 is white version as well as mine.
I have to say that I have another SGS2 but old black version which is perfectly functional on the same 3 network. After playing a very long times with both phones settings, I have a feeling that the core of the problem lies in the "APN type" setting. Changing it's content affects how it connects to network. I have no deep understanding of what is happening behind the scene while changing this option, but there is a possibility that the portion of file system responsible for it somehow been damaged.
It would be great if the developers could tell us if this part of the Android file system is changed while flashing different firmware/radio, or it is persistent?

Dial *#*#4636#*#*, go to phone information and see the settings for the radio. It should be at the bottom. Google the settings for the GSM, WCDMA. Mine is currently 'GSM auto PRL'. 'WCDMA Preferred'is also a better option for 3G network.

Dial *#*#4636#*#*, go to phone information and see the settings for the radio. It should be at the bottom. Google the settings for the GSM, WCDMA. Mine is currently 'GSM auto PRL'. 'WCDMA Preferred'is also a better option for 3G network.

Thank you. I fiddled with GSM, WCDMA settings as you said, but no luck.
What is even more interesting is if the network mode is set to "WCDMA only", then I'm not even able to register on 3 network. After an attempt to manually connect to 3 via "Network Operators" menu, it says "Unable to connect. Try later".
Also after connecting via WCDMA, and then reverting back to GSM, the GSM dies as well. The only solution is to restart the phone.
If it is a software bug, then I do not understand why this problem did not go away after flashing different Rom with radio.

exactly the same for me also, by the way i've a black version
Same problem
Same problem for me in Spain...
WTF happens with this Galaxy S2.First USB voltage problem and now no 3G/HSPA connection.
Any solution, plz??
Samsung: never again
guys....carriers can't sell a device that is advertised as a 3g capable phone. Call them and spit "misleading advertising" mixing "give me a phone that I can actually use" words. You could also add "Release me from my contract, I'm moving to other 3g WORKING carrier".
They'll just freak out.

T-Mobile USA?
If yes, you're probably in a market that they have not yet re-farmed the 1900mhz frequency for HSPA+ yet. The i9100 doesn't get 1700mhz, and the majority of T-Mobile USA's network uses the AWS band, which requires both 1700 and 2100mhz to work for 3g/"4g".
Hello All,
I am hoping that someone can help me out.
I purchased 6 Samsung Galaxy S3 unlocked phones. I put SIM chips in each, all from the same provider and all with the same service plan. 3 of the phones everything is working great including fast Internet. The other 3 phones have extremely slow Internet. I did a bit of research and noticed that the phones that are slow display EDGE in Mobile network type. The phones that are fast display HSDPA:9 . Could this difference be the cause of the data speed problem? Can anything be done to fix it?
My apologizes if this is being posted in the wrong forum.
Thanks

In your way, EDGE means slow, HSDPA fast, HSDPA offers speeds up to 21mbps (if your carrier supports it) and EDGE up to 0.5 mbps or so.
Now, if your 3 other phones don't connect to HSDPA (3G) then it's disabled in settings or signal is low or the chip is messed up.
So by checking if everything is good go to settings, under first tab (connections) go to More networks > Mobile networks and make sure that under network mode WCDMA/GSM is checked, notice that WCDMA is HSDPA.
If still not getting faster speeds try to check if WCDMA only option works, if not, eh, bad chip.

Thanks for the reply.
I activated the WCDMA/GSM. As soon as I did the icon status(?)displayed on the top of the phone turned to a circle with a line through it. About 3 minutes later the status changed to an E with bars next to it. The Status/Mobile network type still says EDGE.
When I try to connect to a site it is slow. Does this mean the device is still getting the 2G signal? Could all 3 phones have a bad chip?
Thanks.
that is true

Do all of the phones have the same baseband? Check in settings, about.
Just to make sure the modem is the same.
I just check 2 of the phones (they are all not with me now)
The baseband of one of the good (fast) ones is: I747UCDMG2
and on one of the slow data phones is: I747MVLUEMK5
What does this mean, that they are not the same?

Both are i747 version which is not international version, maybe Korean or something like that, try using only WCDMA this is constant 3G, and see if it works, if not, flash the latest software from sam mobile via Odin, but watch out you download for i747, not i9300 etc. There are many S3 variants.
I tried using only WCDMA with no success.
Do you have instructions of how to locate and flash the latest software? Also I know the phone is currently unlocked would this change that?
Thanks so much.

If it is unlocked, it shouldn't change that.
And note if changing software doesn't help then the chip might be damaged.
For software, go to www.sammobile.com and register, then go to browse firmware and select android/galaxy s3 bla bla.. until you get to country, there select your country, or go to top and select 'top 10 latest' and choose one that is different from yours.
You can know of it is different by the baseband name letters for etc 'XXUGNG3'.
Then download the software you want (it may take a while) and download Odin v3.09 (just type that in google you'll fond ot) and Samsung USB Drivers (also found on google easily).
Install usb drivers, reboot, open Odin, extract downloaded firmware, go to odin and select AP and then navigate to extracted zip and select you software.
Then put your phone in download mode: hold vol down+power+home and then vol up for continue when you see the picture, connect your phone and flash.
Also, please, about that, read here on xda and see tutorials on youtube, this has been answered multiple time and.i am one of rare users that will thoroughly help in answered questions.
I followed the instructions and flashed the phone. It did not help.
Any other ideas? One of the phones we got was brand new! I can't imagine there is a faulty chip in 3 out of 6 phones?
I am frustrated.

Are they unlocked? Of they are try another carrier, or try somewhere where the signal is at it's best reception.
If these simple methods don't work just get it analyzed in the service center, i doubt it can be software problem because you tried with another rom, also, when you'll try maybe changing carrier or going around town to see if it works, and it doesn't, then it is hardware problem, unfortunately.
Thank for all your help.
Nothing seemed to work.
I did try another carrier and it did not work.
I just can't imagine that 3 out of 6 phones have the same problem and 1 of them is new.
Could it be that the 3/4 G only works in the USA and not in foreign countries?
I apologize if this topic has been covered already, however I am not thoroughly acquainted with smartphones and most of the terminology associated with this topic I do not fully understand yet and am therefore unable to extract the information I need from existing forums. I have a Verizon Rezound that I want to use on the GCI prepaid network. I have followed the instructions in a Youtube video by click4geek called Use any Carrier with HTC Rezound (sorry new user, can't post links) and have also unlocked the bootloader via the HTC website. I now can use the phone over the GCI network for calls and text messaging. I have a twofold question: first, what do I do next--root the phone with a ROM (I read this is the best option for phone functionality and the overheating problem)??? If I do this which ROM would most fit my needs (basic user, just need phone calls, sms/mms messaging, and data)? And second, I have set two APN's via GCI protocol (one for data and one for MMS), the problem is I can access data yet I cannot send picture messages. Any thoughts? Thank you for your help!!!!

I can put some input on the ROM, and somewhat possibly on the APN.
First from what you've said, the over heating problem. That's just a known fact with the rezzy.. look on the bright side, you have a great hand warmer for winter! But, Plain-Andy, CM, or Liquid Smooth would probably suit your needs the best of hand. Do you have a custom recovery yet? You haven't gone S-OFF yet have you? So if you do flash a custom ROM, you will have to extract and flash the boot.img manually from the zip, unless otherwise stated in the OP of ROM.
APN, I don't know very much about.. But I know the rezound got global capabilities with the 4.0.3 ICS update, therefore, if you flash any ROM with the latest update, you should be able to apply them again, but I'm not sure if they would work...

A custom recovery is needed to flash any ROM. Or just let alone any rooting/modding. If you have the boot loader unlocked, you should just be able to flash a recovery via fastboot using
fastboot flash recovery (name_of_recovery).img
S-OFF (turns off all security flags) can be achieved via rumrunner. http://rumrunner.us although. Its suggested by a couple of devs, mostly Snuzzo to have a minimum 3 or 4 flashes from fastboot. That's also known for boot images (kernels) and recoveries.
From a custom ROM with S-ON you have to flash the kernel from fastboot. Once you flash the zip in recovery, you have to extract the zip on your computer, but the boot.img needs to go into your fastboot folder. Then flash, similar to flashing the recovery but
fastboot flash boot (name of kernel).img
As for the APN thing though.. All I can say about that is, most AOSP ROMS support different services such as GSM and other companies. It'd probably be specific to the ROM that was flashed. Be helpful to possibly flash and ask OP.

thank you for your help. I definitely need more though *sigh*. I followed the directions for "How to Root the HTC Rezound" on the unlockr website. It included flashing an Amon Ra Rezound recovery and installed a Superuser App on my phone. After I followed this guy's directions, I looked at the comments below the process and apparently Superuser and su apps don't work simultaneously on the Rezound and its apparently not rooted, according to the comments anyway. I think in order to flash a custom ROM I will need a "dummies" guide with all steps laid out for me (with S-on). Is there any such guide? Please excuse my naivety. I know it is very taxing explaining everything at an elementary level.

I wrote a giant 30 step guide once.... Let me see if I can find it. But one, you don't want amon ra recovery... That's for ICS. Newer ROMs need TWRP at least 2.6.X.X but preferred 2.7 or above
Edit: Aha! Found it! This has every single step, step by step. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=51742399
Start at step 11,12 or 13. Can't really say lol. Or, read the whole post. That's about as clear as it gets. Literally lol
Feel free to ask if there is a misunderstanding.

What hboot and radios are you using?
There are often a few steps to go through when using GSM on the Rezound... and they vary based on using stock ROM or third-party ROM. On stock ROMs you have to use a third party messaging app (Hangouts, Textra, Handcent, etc) to get MMS to work since the embedded messaging app is hard coded to Verizon MMS servers. In third party ROMs you sometimes have to do that, but often have to flash a GSM enabler to get data to work properly. Remember that the Rezound isn't tuned very well to GSM, especially if it is used on US carriers, so often Edge, and occasionally basic 3G/HSPA, service is the best you can get with great signal.
Your APNs could be an issue as well, remember you can only have one active, but it is based on APN type field... if you need a seperate MMS APN than used for data/internet, your default selected APN must not contain the MMS APN Type, it would be in a stand-alone one, and the MMS APN must not contain the default or internet APN types, and your MMS APN should be the only one with the MMS APN type.

How do I tell what radios and hboot I'm using?
I flashed a GSM patch I found on the LiquidSmooth ROM page but must have done it wrong because after I flashed it it lit up the backlight in the phone when it rebooted and just had a black screen for a long time. I Tried to just recover through TWRP but the phone continually got stuck on the 4G page on the reboot. So did I do the custom recovery wrong? I'm thinking I'm stuck flashing a custom ROM now and can't restore my phone. What is my best course of action? I love the custom ROMS but if I cannot even get service then that defeats the point of having the phone.
I do have to have 2 APN's, and the default (data) does not contain MMS APN in the Type field, it says default. And the MMS APN Type is "MMS".
Thank you!!!!

Remove battery and reinsert, power up holding VOL DN + POWER... that screen is the Hboot screen, at the top is listed Hboot version, radios, and other pertinent data.
I haven't messed with ROMs in some time on the Rezound, I don't even own one anymore... but the Rez is picky, some ROMs work well on some handsets, and others do not... I am surprised that the GSM patch would bootloop LS, there isn't really much you can do wrong if you are using the current TWRP, just flash and wipe cache and dalvik, reboot and wait. What recovery and version are you using (start it and it should show at the top of the screen). You could also try one of @sun_dream ROM's, his are pretty much exclusive to GSM users. What carrier and frequencies are we talking about here would be good info as well...
2 APNs are fine, although all APN types should be lower case, not sure if that would cause an issue or you just listed it that way in your message... Linux/Android is case sensitive for most things, Camera is different than camera.
I will say again that Rezound is a finicky GSM phone, things have to be just right... some people can get it to work with marginal success, but only a select few people can get it working "great", and with other devices being relatively cheap like the Doogee Voyager, Posh, and Sharkk with 5" screens, 1GB RAM, dual SIMs, and quad core processors being available for well under $100, and some devices, like the Blu Dash, for under $60 it makes little sense to push the Rezound too much even as a backup device. Are you located in the US? The Rezound can easily be sold for less than the cost of many of these devices to people with broken devices stuck in a contract with Verizon, I have seen ones in good condition sell for $100-$130, putting you in the realm of really pretty decent GSM phones like the BLU Studio 5.0 C HD for $130, it is a top rated budget phone.
Sorry I got off on a ramble there... I am not trying to sway you from trying to get it working, you might be able too, just don't set your expectations too high, the Rezound is a great device on Verizon... on GSM carriers not so much... I will continue to try to help you as much as I can .

GCI Communications in Alaska, prepaid SIM I believe is 3G
I do have data access on LS, but the service is worse than I had with the stock ROM, and I still cannot send SMS or MMS. I had to leave the house to get it. I will try flashing the GSM fix again, and there is a build.prop fix that I apparently overlooked in the LS postings. If that doesn't work then looks like I'm on to a different ROM. Does it sound like my recovery is just shot, since it won't go past the "4G" boot screen?
Thanks again! You are the Rezound dictionary I've been needing!!!

I'll look at the other stuff in a bit, at work, I'll reply in the morning, we probably need to try to upgrade radios but I gotta do some research that I can't ATM...

As far as I know, an independent, as AT&T has it's own towers up here in AK.

I may be wrong, but it looks like GCI operates it's HSPA and LTE networks in the AWS spectrum... 1700/2100 MHz Band 4, similar to T-mobile, the Rezound does not support that frequency band in hardware, meaning you may only get 2G/Edge.
It is really tough to find any specifics though, I will have to look at their FCC filings, what market area are you in?

So I would only be able to get 2G/Edge no matter what ROM or RUU I could flash? How does this affect the fact that I can't receive SMS or MMS on LS but I can on ICS stock? Or does it? I'm in the Matanuska-Susitna Valley area: Palmer, Wasilla, Houston, Big Lake area.

It appears that way, I will have to look at the FCC filings for GCI in that area and see if they support any other frequency ranges. I don't know about their prepaid plans, but the postpaid seems to have some kind of roaming agreement with AT&T. It's pretty uncommon for prepaid to have roaming capabilities though. I'll look into it more in the morning.

Looked into it a little more this morning, doesn't look good for the Rezound on GCI
It appears they have:
1900Mhz for Voice/Text (GSM/GPRS) and 2G/Edge data - supported by Rezound
1900Mhz for UMTS (3G/WCDMA) data - Technically supported by the Rezound, but it is known not to work in the US
1700/2100Mhz AWS for HSPA/HSPA+ - NOT supported by Rezound
1700/2100Mhz AWS Band 4 for LTE - NOT supported by Rezound
The Rezound is known to support:
CDMA: 800/1900 Mhz (Verizon Voice/3G EVDO network)
GSM/GPRS: 850/900/1800/1900 MHz
WCDMA(UMTS): 900/1800 MHz (850/1900Mhz have been "detuned" from chipset)
HSPA: 900/2100 MHz
LTE: 700 MHz (Band 13 only)
To be honest, information on GCI's wireless network is tough to come by, and their FCC filings are very broad ranging for a wide variety of technologies, not very specific at all. Their website mentions BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) in a few places but gives no specifics, FAQ, or other information on what frequencies are supported. Frankly I am a little stumped on finding out more information.
It appears that anything over basic GSM or UMTS speeds requires a device that supports the AWS spectrum, which the Rezound does not, and even that information is sketchy as although UMTS seems to be supported by GCI at 1900Mhz, which the Rezound "technically" supports, the 1900Mhz band for UMTS/WCDMA and HSPA is known to be "detuned" in the Rezound... to a point where you basically have to be sitting on the tower to get minimal service. Whether this was an oversight by HTC and Verizon, or a deliberate plan to prevent the device from being switched to another US carrier since 1900Mhz data is only used in the US, has been a hotly debated issue.
So what this all boils down to it that you should be able to get voice, text, and minimal data services including MMS, working on the Rezound with GCI, but your service will be extremely slow... 2G/Edge in GSM networks usually run from 120Kbps to 384Kbps, and that is probably the best you will get with the Rezound on GCI.
Sorry I don't have better news for you.
Don't apologize!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm grateful for the research and the time you put into helping me!!!!!! If you were in my shoes and stuck with the rezound then would you go back to stock via http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2509770 (since SMS/voice/data at least worked with ICS), try different 3rd party ROMS until I find one that works with SMS/MMS/voice and data (in hopes of finding a better OS) or try to find a fix for my TWRP recovery-gone-wrong?

I would flash a custom ROM, then go s-off, then go through that procedure. You have to be s-off before you can do that. Honestly, if it was me and I needed to use GCI I would restore to stock and sell it, to be honest the Rezound camera on anything but stock is just marginal by today's standards. On sense roms the camera is much better
I'm creating this thread cuz no other helped me and are close to my problem. Before the beginning of all the issues, mobile was working fine with cloudyG3 2.5 and after messing up something in 3845*990#, got booting error and I had to flash ls990zv8 using flash tool and rooted it installed a custom recovery and installed cloudyG3 2.5 again, but this time whatever I do, the mobile data wont turn on. Changed APN, tried switching from global to LTE/CDMA to Global again but no luck. Tried all the GSM roms out there but the issue is still there. Also tried installing ZV4 bandbase. But, nothing happened. Guys, please help me with this issue. Tried replying to the respective rom threads, but got no reply.
Not even a single reply. Thought XDA members help each other. This was the only forum I constantly choose to comeback for its content. If you guys choose to ignore that's fine and goodbye.

Take a look around this section. It's fairly dead. Of the few that remain, maybe no one has had an answer for your problem. I have this device and I rarely look at anything in the section since Sprint abandoned the G3. I go to the Fulmics thread in the bigger G3 section and that's about it. I can tell you that while XDA is helpful, a pissy attitude will get you very little, if any, assistance.
Now.....on to your issue.
You say you flashed back to ZV8 using a flash tool. Was that a tot file flash with the LG program? If so, did you have working data on the stock LG ROM once that was done? If no, you have a device issue.
If yes, and data is gone once you're on a custom ROM, it's a software problem. Try flashing MVNO Slayer (just search, it's in a Moto E section I believe). That will let you choose Sprint as the carrier and will properly set the APNs.
If that doesn't get you going, I'm out of ideas.
It's not about the pissy attitude and this is not the only post I made and got no reply for days. And I'm talking about no data with non-sprint sim cards on GSM roms. I said before all this it was on CloudyG3 2.5 which is a GSM rom and data was working on E/3G/H+. Now I can see that the network does stay on HSDPA in network info and the mobile connection state is disconneted all the time. I want to use this device as GSM.
BTW thanks for replying.

I can't say for certain, but it sounds like you need to do a sim unlock.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/sprint-lg-g3/general/unlock-sim-gsm-how-to-t2853594
Did that too on stock zv8 and had no luck. I can use the sim for calls, texts and from network info, I can see that the network does stay on HSDPA but the mobile network state is disconnected all the time. Before all this, I was able to use upto H+ speeds on any network. Now, it won't turn on.
