I did the upgrade yesterday for my qtek but the upgrade is for O2 so i found that the startup screen is for the O2, is any one know how to change the startup screen????
The startup screen is fixed in the ROM. So you're not able to change it.
Only possibilities are to cook your own rom in your own ROMkitchen or stay at the qtek software...

I've just received my O2 XDA II (already unlocked) and want to load the latest firmware (I don't care for the additional O2 stuff either).. I can see that the i-mate 1.72 firmware is the latest...
a. Can I just load this firmware onto my unit, if so will it just 'turn into' an i-mate?
b. If so, what's the procedure, will I need to hack the operator code using er2000edit or can I just load it as is?

i have upgraded mine (previously 1.60 rom) to the latest i-mate 1.72. and it works perfectly. longer battery life.
i just have to the wm2003 rom editor. changed the manufacturer's name to O2.
One little problem, the Extended Rom gave an error message (smthg like "Error accessing rom image), but i ignored it, modified the name and saved it.
then i just run Himalaya exe file. and after 1hr n 30min. all set.
the splash screen also cant be read. therefore mine is still got i-mate splash screen.

Is there a easy way to change startup screen on Qtek 1010? Can I use custom pictures? I've heard about PNEWBMP.EXE but I can't figure it out!

Hi,
Is there a way to edit the splash screen on my Vario II?
I've upgraded to the cingular rom 1.34 with radio 1.16 but now whenever I reboot I get the white & orange 'Cingular .. raising the bar" screen.
I think this could be done on the older roms using ER2003EDIT to edit the NBF file, is it possible on my Vario II?

Quick answer: It is not possible (yet!), as the Hermes uses a new format (NBH) and any upgrade must be signed with a proper key (which HTC won't tell you) before it can be flashed.

Hi, I have imate Jasjam WM5 & would like to upgrade it to WM6, But before doing that I would like to save the current splash screen (which cotains my Operator logo), so in case I would like to downgrade I can return my splash screen back as it was?

hi there, i have received a tytn from germany, it had wm5 in germany,i did sim and cid unlocker and flashed it with hardspl7 to put shaps portuguese rom.
the thing is, every time i put a wm6 rom the tytn freezes at htc splash screen.
to unbrick it, i have to put an wm5 rom with 1.04 spl and it freezes again at splash screen, this time saying "No GSM", have to flash a radio rom and it backs to normal.
i dont know what i can do to tytn loads a wm6 rom...
It is impossible to flash wm6 in this tytn??

i'd say... it's definately wrecked... i got a german-tytn myself and it's working fine under wm6
sure u're not using a pre-branded device?
no, its a htc tytn - hermes 200... its working 100% with wm5.
but with wm6 it doesnt pass the splash screen...
its not the first time i upgrade a tytn, but this is happening for the first time, its really strange.... i dont what i can do more..... any help?
