Hi All,
I use Windows 2003 Server as a desktop os :!:
After upgrade Windows Pocket PC 2003 and Activesync 3.7.1, I have a strange problem.
I can synchronize my xda only once at a time. When I take xda from cradle and put it on again, I can't get connection. Nothing happens.
I have to kill activesync process and then reopen it from start menu in order to synchronize my xda.
What I did in order to resolve this problem:
- hard reset xda -It is not because of xda because I test it on another computer there is no problem
- I uninstall activesync, delete all folders and registry entries about it and then reinstall it. Problem still continue
- Delete partnership and recreate it. no,no, no
WM 2003 4.0.11
Radio: 4.21.0
Is there any other workaround?
Thanks for all of your advice....
Baris
Have you tried completely removing all traces of activesync, rebooting the desktop, then reinstalling it? Sometimes works I believe.
Yes, but unfortunately no change. :?
Also I want to specify that I use office 2003.

Hi,
is there any way to deinstall or deactivate the Internet Explorer on a T-Mobile MDA with Pocket PC 2002?
ciao, max01
Microsoft would never let you do that!!!
I removed it and the unit would not work at all. Had to do a full reset
Try thunderhawk browser and you will get a better user experience, but IE is so embedded in the OS of all their PPC, WinCE and WM2003 is not funny...
Why do you want to remove it??
Microsoft ActiveSync 3.8
Microsoft ActiveSync 3.8 is the latest synchronization software for Windows Mobile-based Pocket PCs and Smartphones.

it's already in the news section
I had initial trouble installing. my guess because I had SPB Backup PC service running.
Partnerships were lost. no big deal just thought I should mention it.

I don't know any significant fix of this version.
I will try it tonight.

and i did not loose my patnership with my xda2
had hoped it have a new and prettier GUI to match the pictures of the activesync on the windows 2005 CE
here's some information

Italian upd is still not avaible...
everybody and their uncle are hot 'n' bothered trying to get hold of 2005 for their xda2's which is of cause understandible
but from what i've been able to read it's on an alpha stage still
maybe if people collected their exp's with compatibbility
of like SD cards both memory and SDIO
backpack
bluetooth
applications
just to give people an impression of what to expect of their device after the upgrade compared to what they get now
??
had wm2005 running for about an hour now and im quite impressed with how stable it is for an alpha release,
using a SPV M1000 on orange UK network,
phone app works fine, sms working fine,
activesync working fine, also remote activesync to my companies exchange 2003 server works great.
conduits pocket player running but had to install onto a SD card (PQI 1GB) since there was only about 9MB of storage on the device,
when i sync the only error im gettin is a calllog module error as i have jeyo mobile companion 1.1 installed,
but so far so good,
congrats to everyone who made this possible! cheers guys,
regards.
Spritebackup runs, although you can't browse where to save the file and it only backs up if you de-select emails (something to do with the way it accesses the memory I'd guess).
Trying to run TomTom3, no luck so far
MSReader works.
I've some problems with activesync (can't connect)
In system proprieties the device is under "Network devices - Windows Mobile-Based Device" and not under "USB" or "USB Adapters"
In "Magneto" there isn't MMS client?? i've seen txt messages ; outlook... but not MMS
Thank's a lot (sorry for my english)

Hello

SPB Time is not working .
By the way I am going back to 2.20 which is the best for right now .
The problem I have with WM2005 is : after a few Resets my digitizer start becomes crazy and one thing is helps , its a few (few) Hard Resets .
2.20 was the first which one I did't do a Hard Resets for the last two month .
I have a puzzle to solve. I have 2 Vista computers, both running vista Ultimate, both with WMDC 6.1. One of the machines shows the correct picture for my X7500, both in WMDC and in synccenter. The other one uses a generic picture, and apart from this also has difficulty connecting to the PDA.
I have searched the registry for the correct entries, and why this difference exists, but have not been able to find this out.
Does one of you maybe know where to seartch to resolve this issue, in other words, where are these avatar's In registry?, or in Windows? Help would be severely appreciated
I have the same problem
Could anyone advise me, I have Vista on my laptop, I use Ms mobile device centre to sync my xda2 (works well enough), I would like to upgrade the xda2to WM6 from pc2003se, would I be ok using vista or should I use my lads xp laptop with activesync?
What pitfalls are there using vista?
Not too sure on the pitfallss but as you have access to a PC with XP on it best suggestion is to use it.
