Headset broken inside the XDA - MDA, XDA, 1010 General

Hello,
I have the spike of my headset broken inside my XDA. I cannot remove it.
It of course disables the sound.
So, as my provider doesn't want to repare it, I'd like to disconnect the jack connector (or change it maybe) into my XDA.
I looked the pictures of the naked XDA but I don't see what I have to disconnect.
Does someone indicates me more in details or send me a picture... to help me to see what I have to do.
Thx

Dropped it, lost Sound

Hi
I just dropped my xda , and I seem to have lost all sound since then. Therefore cant use as a phone anymore .
I plan to take it to a well known phone repair outlet hereabouts, but since this is an entirely different piece of equipment it would probably help if they had a circuit diagram or something, with pointers as to what to look for.
Would anyone be able to help out with this, so that I can then take it to these guys with some indication as to what they should look for and where it is likely to be?
ANY help is welcome.
Hi,
I have had this problem but without dropping it  just using it regularly like a MP3 player in my car thru the jack connector on it (same thing if you are using offten the headphone :?: ). So my problem was on the jack and I fixed it myself with a shortcut, and sence then my sound volume has become even better, suppose it vas galvanized a bit before :?
All the best

Sound is busted!!!

Before anybody says use the search......
I have used it, but did not turn up anything on this although I am sure its here somewhere
I plugged in the wrong cable into my XDA a while ago (Medion PDA car cable)
This blew the fuse in the lighter fitting on the cable.....but......
Ever since this happened, my XDA is broke. I can use it as a Pocket PC. I can use it for email and internet but I cannot use it for phone calls.
The unit seems like it is constantly on speakerphone or handsfree. I try making a call and can hear nothing, either thru the handsfree speaker OR thru the main ear speaker. Whoever I call cannot her me either!
Then, I tried the headest in it. Now...I can hear the call, but whoever I call cannot hear anything!
Is this a hardware problem or a software problem???
Its really annoying me as the XDA itself is in great condition but just won't work
Try inderting and removing the headset several times or poke a cocktail stick making sure it doesnt break, this is a known problem with xda and headphone socket, it becomes jammed in closed position. I have also used a spray can of "switchgear", this is a lubricant for switches and other electronic things.
wow! that was a quick reply
thanks a lot
i have tried that but still no luck. i also tried the cocktail stick.
i'll get a can of oil in the morning like wd40 or something as you descibe.
in the meantime any more suggestions are welcome
Same Problem!
Hey, I am having the exact same problem with my Qtek 1010.. everytime i try use the phone it stays permanently on speakerphone and i can't hear anything... did u ever manage to fix the problem? thanks alot
No.
I never did have any success with it after. Ended up scrapping it
try blowing hard on the audio jack
been battling with this all day...
what fixed it is pluggin/unplugging the headset several times then removing the wired headset plug and blowing real hard inside the jack hole where u plug ur headset...common problem it seems, due to a hardware switch inside being stuck fooling the phone to think your headset is plugged wheb it is not.don't know if the rom can "sensitize" the phone to this problem i.e. make it more prone...

headphones

hi guys...
I Have the original headset for 9090 and it works ok but I would like to connect different type of the headphones to 9090 bcoz original headphones slips all the time from the ears.
Few days ago I used to buy some model with 2.5 connector like this one http://www.chantalcurrid.com/Remote/Images/PStereo.jpg but as the guys in the stereo thread below reported I had mono sound when I put the connector fully into 9090 and have stereo sound when it put it 70-80% inside the 9090.
This is not the solution bcoz if you move it a bit you will not have the sound any more... After some testing I have found that if I want sound with the connector like on the previous picture I have to weld ring and tip and I ll have the mono sound but in the both headphones and thats ok with me.
Now I have 2 questions regarding to this problem (take a look at this picture please
)
1. I have the connector like on the middle picture, difference between that one and upper one which is original is that the one I have will connect ground and mic contacts in the 9090 when I put it inside (thats obvius if you look at the upper picture since upper, original connector have 2 contacts on the place where middle connector have only one)... question is will I kill the microphone of the 9090 with that (connecting mic with the ground while listening music) ?
if the answer is "NO, thats perfectly fine if you dont need mic" (and I dont need while listening music) please take a look at the question 2.
2. can I connect ring and tip on the middle picture connector and use the headphones like mono headphones or that will kill some audio chip in the 9090 ?
forget about converters, different headphones etc, I need to make it by myself (and have all the connectors I need except the right one - upper one).
sorry for my boken english and ty for your time and effort.
BR to community !
I understand u. listen if u short upper two contacts (mic+gnd) it will harm u it automatically attend ur calls when some calls u and also display the last call and redial it. This contcats are connected via Diode to avoide reverse flow of current so i advised u to do not short this conections. Buy any converter which helps u from ebay.
thank you for the answer krishan !
I didnt ordered anything from an ebay but obviusly I ll have to try bcoz I need that adapter.
ty & best regards !

Well, I really think that tha BA's earphone sucks, but iv'e build some monster earphone, taked off its p2 conector and adapted one took from the cell phone Gradiente GF930... if I use it i get a mono sound, but if i move it a little (realy little) up I get a perfect stereo...this ocours cuz the conectors have some difference, if it works on yours, u may put some rouded thing or do as me, take the originals off and adapt new phones on the BA's conector
easier way..
guys.. all of you should consider to disassembly your original headphone's volume dial/send and receive plastic... you can desolder the pin for the left and right headphone and replace it with female jack hole which fits 3,5mm jacks...

Head phone is not working!!!

Tonight I try to listen some music on my Tg01 and I discovered the head phone is not working, the answer button on the lead is not functioning either. I dont think is the lead because I keep it very safely and very careful not to damage it, I suspect is the micro usb jack is faulty but I can sync with PC with no problem. Have any one have this problem before?
If I can`t solve it I just return it to Orange for a new phone Phone just 6 months old. Hate to buy a new lead because I just can`t find it and I don`t think that`s the problem, not to mention waste of money.
I am using FFboy WM 6.5.5 Sense 2.5 Beta3 rom BTW.
Problem solved by new micro usb headphone lead. Toshiba one is broken ........

Where did you buy it from?
I got it from local market for £5, I am looking in to LG micro usb headphone adaptor too, I think it might work as well.

i think there's a nokia phone that uses the same adaptor too....

i know you fixed this...
but in case it helps anyone, my headphone somethimes doesn't work - the sound goes to the external speaker instead, but if i quickly dial a call (any #) & then hang up (before it rings at the other end) then the sound is diverted back to the headphones
Hi adzman808, I thing that this question was brilliantly explained in Modaco's forum by Kevin, some months ago....
http://www.modaco.com/content/toshiba-tg01-tg01-modaco-com/298887/headphone-amplified-sound-output/
I modified a couple of speakers (following the Kevin's instructions) with success. I had exactly the same issue, speakers worked perfectly but, sometimes, sound source changed randomly to device's speaker.
I just soldered a couple of resistors between left /right line and ground, as Kevin said, and problem has been definitively solved.
I'm sure that you have he same problem. By the way, in Modaco I was(am) Xdalover. Nice to hear from you in Xda dev as well.
Hope this help you
Cheers

I think it`s the same problem as my faulty toshiba lead, just yours is on the way out. Get a new lead and try it.

I believe this is a uUSB control software (driver) issue - have also experienced on occasion.
Typical scenario is when the TG01 has been on charge via the uUSB; unplug the charger and then plug in the external audio connector (eg. one of my home-brew cables used to feed an external 5.1 sound setup - see the Modaco post Pere has just flagged) - device refuses to put audioout to the uUSB and will only play via the speaker.
I have previously resorted to a S/R which evidently reset the uUSB controller to respond correctly to insertion of a B plug wired for audio.
Adzman808's solution is evidently achieveing the same result but by forcing a change of function call by initiating the phone call - hadn't thought of that trick !
I'm still looking unsuccessfully for source of the relevant chip that I identified in the previous post about the uUSB which is supposed to be able to support external charging and audio out and some other functions at the same time....

[Q] Music only plays out of right speaker... PLZ HELP!!

I recently replaced my screen and now when i plug in my headphones the music only plays through the right speaker. Anybody know why this is happening??
Have you try with other earphone? Maybe the earphone is broken..
Yea i've tried different headphones, the left speaker is always out, if I pull the jack out a little the left side will work but the the right stops so im assuming its some sort of hardware issue but I dont know where to look
Sent from my Dell Streak using XDA App
You'll have to take the Streak apart and check the jack. It's likely the solder connecting the jack to the board is broken. Either that or the contacts aren't making contact by being bent.
Yea I was inspecting that piece but couldnt tell if anything was defective about it, I think i'll just order another one of that part since thats probably the problem, thanks for your help
