serial cable for MDA II How it?

You need to create a backup of your original (German) ROM first. For this, you will need a serial cable (no way around this).
Create a connection between your MDA II and your PC by running Hyper Terminal with settings: 115200 baud, 8n1, direct to COM1 port

i know this forum a couple of time, now needed to register and to ask you all:
I have a O2 XDA II german version, but i´m using T-Mobile Germany as provider. Does anybody know if it is possible to change the O2 operating system to the T-Mobile MDA II sys. ? I don´t know exactly if XDA II & MDA II are the same devices. And if possible, can somebody provide me the german T-Mobile firmware ?

THX for info - but i can´t nowhere find the german ROM file for MDA II and maybe a "how-to-do-it" guide, i´m not an expert on ROM flashing ....... I appreciate every help i can get
You said you already have German ROM in you XDA2, right? If so, what's the problem? :shock:

It doesn't matter what kind of ROM do you have in your device, if it is running with your SIM card and is speaking in your born language... Am I right or not?

I don´t like the O2 Rom, i prefer the T-Mobile Rom, i had an MDA III but i was not satisfied with the machine, i sold it and bought a used XDA II, it works much better than the MDA III (especially phone & bluetooth), that was even a reason for me to have the T-Mobile Rom, i´m more familiar with it.

I have a MDA Compact (Magician T-mobile Germany) and would like to flash it to my MDA2, because the software Fonix VoiceDial (form Magician) and other didnt funktion in my MDA2.
Can I change the Magician Rom to MDA2 ?.
Must I edit the Magician Rom and change the format from .nb1 to .nbf

First of all I am not expert in techkie stuff, however, I believe that the ROM for magician and that for XDA II are distinctively designed to match differences in hardware designs and so on. At this very moment, I don't thnk you can flash XDA II with such Rom or any other ROMS that don't belong to its kind

Wireless Modem on WM 5.0 does't work. Somebody knows about different program? I would like to connect Mda II WM 5.0 to the PC and use MDA II like modem.

You need to get wmodem.exe from WM2k3SE or WM2k3 and change registry settings from "RNDIS" to "USBSER". And make sure ActiveSync app doesn't run in background
Could yoy tell me step by step how can I do that. Is there wmmodem.exe on the ftp site ?
English rom needed badly,somebody please help me, I own a MDA VARIO g4 whith is unlocked and working great, but it is in dutch language and I need it to be english. Here is the problem, I don't have a xp or 2000 based computer at home, so there is no way for me to cook my own rom at this point. I surf the forums on an iPAQ trying to download all I need and than it's a trip (so 20 miles) to the next internet cafe trying to put it all to work. So far, I was able to hard unlock my phone and remove the simlock. Everything is working, but in dutch. It's a t mobile mda vario g4. Please help
read and follow the methods SoftSPL or HardSPL to upgrade to latest wm6 or 6.1 WWE (English) Rom,you can read about this in the G4 sub-forum posted as stickies.
