Hello Would you have a step by step guide to upgrade from Tmobile 160 NL WWE to the Dangaard 1.58 french rom? I'm a bit stucked, i have to admit
I followed and tried to adapt the guidelines given in the "upgrade qtek152 to tmobileNL.exe and it doesnt work at all
I really follow the step by step instructions but i get the country error 120 and that's all.
A few hints: the updater in the extracted romversion is 5.00 version

I created an upgrade file for you from the TMob 1.60 to the French Dangaard version.
I'll try to put it on-line and place the link an the forum when the file is uploaded.

This is the correct procedure (copied and modified from spanky's original posting):
Do you want to upgrade from T-Mobile 1.60 to Dangaard French 1.58.01???
This is what you have to do step by step:
1) download ruu15801fra_dangaard.exe from the ftp specified in this post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=4857
2) click with the right button on the downloaded file (make sure you've winzip installed) and select extract to. Choose a folder where you'd like to put all the upgrade files
3) download xda2nbftool.exe from this page:
http://www.xs4all.nl/~itsme/projects/xda/xdaii-update-format.html and put the file in the created folder
4) Open the MS-DOS prompt, go to the folder where all files are unpacked and type the following instructions:
xda2nbftool -d NK.nbf nk.nba HTC (enter)
xda2nbftool -sd PH10 -so TMobile -sl WWE -v ms_.nbf (enter)
xda2nbftool -sd PH10 -so TMobile -sl WWE -v Radio_.nbf (enter)
xda2nbftool -sd PH10 -so TMobile -sl WWE -v nk.nba (enter)
xda2nbftool -e nk.nba NK.nbf HTC (enter)
5) Now launch the upgrade file HimaUpgradeUt.exe and enjoy!

How did you do it: I follow the instructions given and processing the last instruction displays a warning "warning: this does not look like an nbf header" and thats all; I'm stucked from there on;
Could you please help me out;

Thankyou Jos; i have to admit one of the following: either i'm a real dunce, or there is another problem with this upgrade : when i type in and process the last command: xda2nbftool -sd PH10 -so TMobile -sl WWE -v nk.nba then enter, i get following message "this does not look like an nbf header" all over my screen.
Do you have any clue what causes this and how to get past this problem?

Yes the BT have the serial port on it. Go to Start->Settings->System->Bluetooth Settings
You will see Bluetooth Serial Port Setup.

For the time being, only one of my software behaves strangely: v2rCaller2Picture is with this new vesion not able to "format" the storage card, which means only create two dedicated folders on the storagecard, to store in separate files the ictures and sounds associated with the callers.
I go on reviewing and i keep you posted;

Changing back to 1.60 TMobile NL version. It seems that the radio is a bit unstable get X on the strength meter several times. Also while running ftXPBrowser with GPRS it hard reset on me once.

if im not mistaken.. u r using mysteryman's wm2003se rom .. u can use xda2jojo's version by just downloading the 3 zip files.. attach in this thread .. Storage.zip, "Smart, Globe and Sun wm2003 se XDAll upgrade.zip" and Extended Extended Rom.zip.. then follow this instruction
1.first unzip the files under the Storage folder in Storage.zip to your Storage folder in your xda(if your confuse, here how it goes ..if you open the storage.zip .. u will see this folder "Storage" .. then open that folder then thre u will see some files .. put all the files in to your Storage Folder(not Storage Card) in your xda using activesync)
2. then unzip the Smart, Globe and Sun wm2003 se XDAll upgrade.zip to your pc
3. after that Run HimUpgradeUT.exe, follow the instruction and wait
the extended extended rom is an additional files .. just unzip all the files put it in your xda2 and run each files ..
and thats it ..
you can do this or Just wait for xda2jojo to upload his 3rd simplified ..

Yes you can but it will remove your existing wm2003se and replace with xda2jojo's wm2003se version

I'm not sure if I'm the only one but I'm getting an error with Running Programs. When I click the icon on the taskbar its says "Cannot find 'Running Programs' (or one of its components.)"
How do I install running programs.exe? I can't seem to find it in the Windows directory

After 8mb, there is no noticeable performance upgrade. After experimenting, 4mb is most suitable. 2mb creates a lag.

WM2005 has a different architecture compared to wm2003. Besides, it's persistent storage we're enjoying in wm5 which wm2k3 don't have. So, the slider will definitely not work.

The Atom Life has a different format. First of all, it uses MSFLASH50 format and it's XIP is compressed as SRPX. Although, I have the tools to break it down, I am not sure if it will reconstruct it correctly. If you want, you can try...
On the other hand, the ATOM Life has a bigger program memory... you can only gain 4mb max for so much trouble... of course, still your choice.
Here are the steps in accomplishing this task:
1. 'Cut' the first 12 bytes of FLASH.DIO (atom life ROM)
2. Save it as FLASH.BKP
3. Process the file using Breakdown.bat batch file
4. During pause... DO NOT CLOSE THE BATCH FILE -> edit flash.dio.part1.xip with hex editor
5. You can now search the hex values and edit it
6. Save your changes and proceed with the batch file
7. Restore the FLASH.BKP by inserting it back to FLASH.DIO
8. Flash your new FLASH.DIO
Your Hex Editor must be capable of editing large files. If it doesn't work, just flash back the original ROM. As I've said, I haven't tested the reconstruction part of the tool because I don't have Atom Life to start with. USE AT YOUR OWN RISK!

I can't load core wm6 on oxy. I use Imgfs tools(BuildImgfs.exe, make_imgfs.exe), htcrt, NBHextract and RGUEdit from 4pda.ru
You put make wm6 for oxygen and wm6 compatibile this device.

i have flashed with all wm5 and only os wm6. the flash start and arrived at 100% but a window message says flash error and when i reset the smartphone dont work it is stopped after htc logo.
You worked with pkgtool? He is not work ready. Use imgfs tools.

1) GPRS doesnt work
How to flash:
1) make an application unlock
2) copy content of SSPL to root of your device
3) run SPL.lnk
4) run ROM Update Utility.exe on your PC
5) follow the instructions
6) wait until flash process will be completed
You can flash it over ANY (Qtek, Dopod or Cingular) rom!
I dont have a HTC StarTrek
If you wanna to use this rom or part of it (i.e. XIP, etc) for the base of your future roms, please keep/add author's names in About menu! Thanks.

Regunlock It’s application ?

I found a bug. Please confirm if this happens generally.
The StartUp content doesn't load at system boot. This means that any program' s shortcut is in startup folder doesn't run automatic when wm6 start.
Maybe this can be fixed with a registry setting, but I don't know how. I tried with HKLM\System\Explorer\Shell Folders and I saw that every folder definition was 2 times and if I delete the one of them, both desappear. I made the startup definition again but no luck. Any help or suggestions?

Before you proceed with flashing rom the device must be cid unlocked. There is a thread in startrek's forum for how to do it.

here is a Format failed solution to test for you guys.
It is a first Idea and not final. I'll write a script and repack it if it works.
Here is how to do it:
First you need the NoID RUU to flash the ROMs.
You can get it here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=42657&d=1183226200
Then you first have to flash the Charmer Aku 1 with the NoID RUU.
You can get the Aku 1 here: ftp://xda:[email protected]_1120223_11202110_11220_T-MobileUK_Ship.rar
After that you have to flash the Prophet Aku 2 with NoID too.

The final Step is to reflash the Aku 3 alst to flash with NoID.

After that all your Charmer should Format and boot again.
To flash a ROM with the NoID tool you have to copy the NK.nbf from the ROM folder to the NOID folder.
The Aku3 has to be extracted first. (Use WINRAR or SevenZIP and extrackt using context menu). Don't run it it won't extract it will start flashing!

Hi, I tried to flash Charmer with AKU3 NOiD utility, but I stucked at this:

I don't see, what I'm doing wrong. I added nk.nbf file to NOiD folder, that you have sent me and this showes me after I clik on update...
OK I read about the problem. Try the Aku3 in your Language or try the German one.
If both don't work I'mm make you a custom version of noptures WM6 with bootloader included so that you can use that to get the loader up again.
And next time don't read old howtos or read them to the end. In one post Vlodec says that CID unlock isn't needed.
You should have read that and all would be fine now.

And back to my Charmer. I tried German AKU3 but the same problem was shown...But it still work with AKU1, so It's not been absolutely damaged yet.
I tested the german Aku 3 here. When does the problem show up? After klicking sometimes or directly when opening the utility?

When I open the noid utility, click next, next, the program starts searching my device. When it searches it, I click on "update" and the next page is "error [238] : File read" as i wrote in the last post.

Try to copy all the files to C:/ ,so to the root directory.I read something about it years ago,it worth a try.
The readme file in the RUU says:
ERROR [238] : FILE READ
This error message may appear when, for some unknown reason, the ROM image on the phone is corrupt. Download the whole RUU and try again.
I can't see the logic of this sentence.If the ROM image is corrupt ON THE PHONE(????) then why should I download the RUU again?It's not clear for me,I hope it's just because I don't speak english too well.
So i tried this (copy all files from RUU to root of my pc), but noting has changed...still "File read"... Now I'm flashing AKU1 ROM to get device back working...
I have an idea. Try to flash vlodecks Rom with that NoID RUU I gave you.
If that works I'll build you a pachted WM6 with the SPL and so on in soon so that you can upgrade. Would you test that for me?

I think, i flashed it one time and it's just worked, but for absolute certainty...

No problem. As you are the only guy with repucable Format failed fix I'm very interessted in helping you to get that thing fixed for ever.
If the ROM works I'll give y a pached nbf. We'll see how it goes and if it works I'll take it for my Fix package too.

Yes, but the NOiD RUU stucks in "FILE READ" error... I've uploaded the screen here...
Also the one that came with the WM6? Strange! Are you sure the file is called nk.nbf and is around 70MB big?

I don't understand your post, but if I'm right so - The nk.nbf file in the screen is extracted from the AKU3 Deutsch ROM
PS: I'm sorry, but I must go learning. I'm going to write lots of exams tomorrow. I hope, i'll be here tomorrow evening or at the weekend... I'm sorry
