If the sd card isnt showing under settings/memory/storage card, try formatting it with a usb card reader/writer. Orange payg have a habit of suspending outgoing sms when the sim hasent been topped up for a long time.

Please Help. Orange Sim in O2 Xda, not allowing text messages

Hi, I have recently bought a Sim unlocked O2 XDA Mini S. I am on Orange network and put my sim in. Making and receiving calls no problem.
It wont allow me to send or receive text messages. I called Orange to replace Sim and they wont do it. I am absolutely clueless about ROM s or IMEI s etc. and i would appreciate help and explanations as though i am a 10 year old.
All i know is that the device is a G4. I have tried searching forums but have no idea where to find it.
Please help as it is getting really frustrating.
Thanks
I might be wrong here but I had a similar issue, I think it is a case of setting the device so that SMS is the default mail application. I forget where in the settings this is but will look later this evening if you havent found.
Hi, Thanks for that. I have tried to change settings but it won't allow me to do so. I get a message saying "phone not ready, try again in 15 seconds"

I had this same exact problem/message once. I had an orange sim which came with the SPV M700 (trinity) hence it was a 3G sim card. Tried using it with a SPV M600 (prophet) and it kept throwing up that message. Using other sim cards and the M600 would work perfectly. The problem was the sim card and Orange UK will not change it to a 2G card even over their dead bodies!!! Only solution was to go back to a 3G-enabled phone (which I did for a while) or change network which I did eventually (T-Mob - lots of free calls on Flext 35 )
has anyone found a way round this yet?

Can't read MMS???

Hello,
I'm a little bit confused, I have sent my contact card from my HD2 to a friend who has also a HD2 and he couldn't open it and received a message that he can download the MMS at the provider website. Same happend when he sent me one. So why is the HD2 unable to receive MMS which are also sent from an HD2??
Is there any chance to fix this?
Cheers
SKYY
Try to change your SIM card to new one from your mobile operator. (Your friend to).
I have a new sim card which I got in 2010, so it should be able to handle this. What else can we do?

How to erase SIM card data

perhaps the P500 general forum is not the best place to post this but as this is the phone I'm on I can't think of a better choice.
So here is the issue - I recently installed a very cool application called "SMS Desktop" which as you may be able to guess allows me to easily send/receive SMS through my phone on my computer. The thing is, it shows me ALL of the data that is apparently stored on my SIM card, even though in the phone my SIM card shows no contacts stored on SIM. It also has recorded ALL of my SMS conversations, which I've deleted from my phone.
Not that I have anything to hide, it just bothers me that my privacy is unknowingly being invaded and my every move is being recorded. If I delete something from my phone I expect it to be deleted, not just hidden from my view so that someone with the right tools can still exploit this obvious gap in personal security.
So my question is, how do I erase data from my SIM card? There does not appear to be any way to do it from the phone, and applications that supposedly manage SIM data do absolutely nothing. I want to erase every single thing from my sim card except the data needed to connect my phone to the T-Mobile network.
just to a tmobile store or your current carrier and ask them for a new sim card they are free just say you lost yours not a big deal they will give you one for free

Preferred SIM toggle not persistent

Hi,
Having issues with setting preferred SIM on individual contacts? It seems to remember when I set SIM 2 for some time, but then everything just defaults back to SIM 1, regardless of which SIM that contact usually calls in on. All of my contacts are either on Google sync or Exchange sync.
Anyone else? I'm on stock ROM v1.72.
I have the exact same problem. Came here searching for a solution after two weeks ago I put a second SIM into my Z7 mini. Although I select SIM 2 as default communication card and I select the switch in all contacts to card 2 it stucks to card 1 and ignores all the settings. Only disabling card 1 lets me call with the second card.
In my case I have a Z7 mini with stock ROM 1.76
Has anyone found a solution for this?

Yes. Apparently one of the apps for my workplace insisted on synching all contacts every 24h. I fixed it by exporting all contacts to my Google account and the problem disappeared.

Not an option for me Actually I have to set card 1 and card 2 back and forth for every contact until I see that I'm calling with the proper card. Either that or disable one card, call and re-enable it and re-set all card configuration. Not the way it should be but...

Two WhatsApp accounts

Hi everyone,
I am currently using WhatsApp on 1 device with a UK SIM card. I want to switch to my Brazilian SIM card and use WhatsApp with that (seperate) account on the same device, but still have the facility to switch back and forth between the two when I change the SIM card over.
But WhatsApp now has a feature to "make changing number easy" which I think converts the account to a new number. Does anyone know how to do it differently?
