Cannot receive SMS, but can't send?!?! - MDA, XDA, 1010 General

Starting about 3-4 weeks ago, I noticed I haven't been receiving any SMS messages (web-to-phone, phone-to-phone or voice mail). I can send messages, however I do not receive them.
I called T-Mobile and they "reset" the SMS account with no avail (still open ticket).
I checked the processes and "smsreceive.exe" is running as a process.
Any recommendations?
Thanks in advance!

Try another SIM on your device or try your SIM on a normal phone
It might be a barring problem on your SIM

make sure the country code is set correctly

There is a certain backup program that has this bug, it knackers your abil;ity to receive sms if you have backed up and restored your sms folder. Do a search on "sms backup".

Yeah, and the program is called Sprate Backup. There was a thread about it not long ago, just search for it.

It's supposed to be Sprite backup, not Sprate

Can't send long sms anymore...??

Hello,
Just recently I noticed I can't send long sms anymore from my O2 XDA. Before it used to work. The only thing I've done is to add general sw to it, in addition to that patch showing senders name rather than only mobile number when receiving new sms-messages.
Does anyone have a clue what this is? I have checked all SMS settings and they are definitely fine.
The error message I get is this one:
'Your SMS message cannot be sent. Contact your customer service center for more information.'
Hmmmm... please help..

What version Rom?
What software have you added?
ROM version: 3.14.17 ENG
Radio version: 4.17 (just upgraded, but had problem also before that)
Protocol version 32S54
Programs added recently:
SMS-Name Patch (Paragon Software SMS Name)
HTC PROGRAMME B (the radio-upgrade..??)
ACDSee Mobile for WinCE
Macromedia Flash Player
Tillanosoft SmallMenu
DK ipCalc
Spb GPRS Monitor
Pocket Media PocketDivx
.. and some more..
I don't know when it happened, because I usually do not write
so many long sms messages..

I hereby conclude that my problems sending long sms's must be something weird with my local Telenor Mobil provider in Norway. I was in Monaco last week, and I had no problems at all to send long sms's, even to same recipients that did not work before... And even by using the same Norwegian sms centre... hmmm, really strange thing.. So I reported this to my provider, of course getting all general nonsense replies with settings on mobile etc, but they also admitted that the QTEK1010 phone could only send messages less than the length of 2 sms's at a time????
I don't understand this at all... is my phone pushing the sms's out too quickly for the sms centre? does it think I am flooding it??
Any ideas here, any other free sms message centres I could try this with?

No more SMS

Hi,
since a couple of days my XDA's SMS function is not working anymore. It will not receive nor send SMS messages.
I have checked the SMS-C number and contacted Telfort. The number is correct and Telfort says "no problem".
Anybody around here with a bright idea?
Francois
Not a particularly bright idea but are you sure that you are composing your txts in the SMS inbox, not the Activesync one?
Just covering the basics
Also note, if you have used software like PocketBackup to restore your data then it corrupts your Inbox folder settings irreparably. A hard reset is needed in this case.
Otherwise it sounds like a problem with your Radio Stack.

No restore
I did a hard reset about a week ago, I'm not sure is this is the time when trouble started.
I have not used a backup to restore the file setting, however I did use the "restore connection settings" from the SD-backup tool.
Think I'm gonna make antother backup tonight and do a hard reset, check if SMS works, then do a restore and see what happens.

Can't send SMS

Ok
so I've unlocked my XDA and use a 3 sim. I can make calls just fine, I can receive text messages just fine but I cannot send texts messages.
Also, I cant access my sim contacts either. I can get around this by copying my contacts to the PC and then to the XDA but I use multiple PC's and am always forgetting not to synchronise contacts on any PC's other than the one with the correct data so I keep losing it.
Anyone got any ideas how I can resolve this.
I have an update for you all.......
I've spoken with 3 and they have assurd me (for what it is worth) that they have not imposed any restrictions on sending SMS (I wondered because I know alot of people take the 3 contract for the cheap calls and then don't use any 3 services but use the O2 roam facility that presumably costs 3 money) so I have to assume I have a set up or technical problem with the XDA.
When I try to use SIM Manager I get an error message saying "Sim is busy. Wait 5 seconds and try again.". Well I wait and wait but it doesn't get any better than that.
SIM Toolkit does nothing when I try to use it, not even the graciousness to give me an error message.
3 said just type in the servcie centre number and away you go (they also said to uncheck the "use unicode when necessary" box) but that doesn't seem to help. Also after I type the service centre number in and try to send an SMS, which fails everytime, I go back to where you enter the service centre number and the field is blank again.
The error message I get when I try to send an SMS is "Your SMS message has not been sent because the SIM is invalid. Contact your customer service center for a new SIM" Well, of course my 3 sim is valid,it works just fine in the e616.
The SMS messages appear in the "Sent" directory even though they haven't been sent (and they really haven't or at least they certainly haven't been received)
ROM Version is 3.17.03 Eng (in fact it's the XDA developer ROM)
ROM Date 05/15/03
Radio Version 4.16.00 (I down graded to this to get the thing unlocked)
Protocol Version 32S54

issue with voicemail notice

My HD2 has a small issue with the phone showing I have a voice mail when in actual fact I don't.......
Could this be it has remembered I have one stored and will not lose the message until I delete this voicemail even though it is being saved...
I really need to keep the message I have saved for work purposes..
Regards Lee
Just tested this, and my voicemail icon disappears (after a short time) when I've listened to but not deleted a voicemail.

[Q] Viber activation on roaming number? Skip activation?

Hi,
I'm on a Rooted (CWM) Nexus 5 running SlimKat 4.4.4.
I have used my viber account activated on a prepaid US number T-mobile (while living there last year ) for a long time. I now live in Sweden (since march 2015) and have changed the SIM to a swedish number +46 without any problem still using the same old US viber account. Recently I froze Viber (using SD Maid) for a month then when I unfroze it, it asks for activation and I cant receive an activation code to the old US number even though its active, inserted in phone and has sms credits. I have received refill smses for the US number just now which helps me conclude that the receiving function is ok.
I have backed up Viber with Titanium Backup, restored app+data even app or data separately. What happens is I get into my Viber account and I see all messages as usual, then it stops and the activation screen appears again.
Ive read all threads here on viber backup of messages and similar, many questions were exactly formulated in a way that would solve my problem, but they never got answered. A new question seemed to always hijack the original.
To conclude:
1. Can I alter any viber db file to just skip activation?
2. How can I get into my viber account again not loosing ANY data?
PLEASE help me...I dont wanna loose all my messages especially from my loved one.
Thanks!
