Upgrading from xda to xda2 - MDA, XDA, 1010 General

Hi guys,
just a quickie;
I have an xda with about 3/4 months left on my £19 per month contract, but am interested in upgrading to an xda2.
Will it be as easy as paying O2 the money for the upgrade and just transfering my sim-card into the xda2, then cancelling my contract when it expires. If yes, I will be selling my xda once the changeover happens.
I plan to have an unlocked xda2 so that I can use it on a pay as you go basis, using the wonderful software found on this site
Many thanks
Munkee

Buying XDA 64MB online

Hi,
I'm considering buying a XDA online from http://shop.brando.com.hk/
I myself live in the Netherlands and since it's not around the corner, I was wondering if some of you have experience with this online shop ?
Is it reliable ?
Thanks for your input !

Bram,
I bought my XDA second hand and the seller decided it would be a good idea to upgrade it before being sold.
It has been upgraded end of march and it works like a charm.
He also gave me the bill of the upgrade since there is warranty!
Upgrade has been ordered from PDA Tech Center in Maarssen. Price was 99 Euro. There website is http://www.sfinx.demon.nl/palm
I am not affiliated in any way to them.

Why is it so slow to be avilable in other countries?
The 64MB XDA has been out in Asia for may months!
Brando
I've ordered a stylo and a protection seal for my screen over there.
It was delivered very quick. They sent me the wrong stylo and they sent me a new one for free and payed the returning stamps for me.
Good service at Brando!!

O2 employee's get cheap XDA

When I bought my XDA last summer. The sales person at the link, told me that lots of units were being sold cheaply to the O2 staff.
That seems like a sensible way of getting sales, and increased revenue..
I wonder if Orange will do the same with the SPV ...
Anybody heard similar company benefits..
Martin
XDA for £99
Got an XDA for £99 off a friend who works for O2, and its only £7 a month, including free minutes.
only problem is its only tht 32MB version.

64M XDA for sale

Purchased July 2003, mint condition & reboxed with all goodies. Have upgraded to XDA II last week.
I 'm seriously interested ... how much do you want (plz keep it reasonable )
Is the XDA still for sale?
Hi there I note that you have an xda for sale. Is that still thecase and if so how much of a reasonable price would you ask for it?
Secondly, do you or anyone else for that matter, know where I can get my screen repaired on a 2002 64 meg model? Or is it feasible for me to attempt a diy job if i can get the parts?
Many Thanks

128M TMO XDA For Sale
I'm really wanting an XDA II and have an existing XDA (TMO USA PocketPC Phone Edition version). Had it replaced under TMO's $75 replacement plan 4 months ago, pretty much new. Had PocketPcTechs upgrade unit to 128M. Uses their driver (T2TDisk) to access upper 64M.
Got all the original stuff it came with. Bit of a techie so have upgraded unit to ROM 4.01.00, RS 6.24.01 (WM2003). Still waiting for TMO's USA official upgrade.
Appears the going rate is in the GBP140-150 range (~US$250). Been thinking of using eBay but hey ... Buyer pays shipping. Anyone interested? I'll send separate email link to interested parties.

Future availability of SPV M200

Does anyone know the likely lifetime of Orange offering the M2000 on their website. I am due for a upgrade in July, and I am thinking that Orange may replace the M2000 by then with that dreadful new offering which has been dubbed the MDA IV.
If anyone knows of a fast track plan I can do without waiting til July so I can get it cheaper I'd appreciate any advice. O2 are offering the XDA IIs on their site for £179.99 with a contract. When I contcted Orange they wanted £349.99 for the upgrade (some upgrade not!). Perhaps If I upgrade my tarrif or threaten to move to O2 it might do the trick ???

T-mobile after offering the MDA III for £39.99 on contract, £14.50 first six months then £29.99 for the remaining six months works out about £309.
When dealing with Orange there is two teams you deal with when upgrading / leaving. The first team will fob you off with not so good upgrade offers, threaten to leave and you will be transfered to another team who can offer all manor of different offers. So just threaten to lleave and move to T-Mobile

XDA IIi & IIs £179.99 on £17 36MB GPRS Contract

I was a little surprised and initially couldn't beleive what the salesman was saying, but basically you can purchase either XDA IIs or IIi for £179.99 on any monthly contract both voice aand data. The cheapest voice being £16 and a 36Mb GPRS bundle for £17.04.
Forgot to say this is from an o2 shop, similar prices are available online but the data tarrif is not available, and the cheapest voice being £19.
If you phone o2 you will be charged £279+

Yes that is the deal I was offered earlier this month and took -- although I opted for a higher level voice contract for various reasons.
I don't know if it still on but when I took out the contract they were also offering double minutes and double texts for the first six months as well!
Yup...it's also the SAME price whether you're upgrading from the XDA2 or not, whether you're an existing customer on staff accounts or not!
I'm just glad I don't actually work for o2 but still have a staff account...otherwise I'd be pretty fumed by that. Oh wait, no I am anyway.

My XDAIIs was £179.99 on the Data 5 tariff - which is £8 per month for 5mb inclusive GPRS data.
This was as an upgrade from O2 direct, staying on the same original tariff - the Data 5 one ..

I want to buy and XDA2i,but have some hard time to understand O2 tariffs:
-Do I need to choose a monthly tariff to buy a XDA2i?
-I live in Italy, how can I use O2 service? (in case I cant,i don't see big problems, but need the device!)
-When I choose a tariff, what is the minimal time I must stay with O2 company?
-If I will change Operator,Tariff,etc.. Do I need to return the xda2i back?
Thnk you..

Doh sorry for got to quote i got this tariff and XDA2s last month when i could not find a pda2k any cheaper than £509 instead it works out around £380 and then i unlocked it the next day from the O2 unlatching boys... still saved myself a few quid though.
i just orderd my first xda the 2i today, hence the new reg(i have been lerking for a while)
i got it for £109 because i was going to cancel my contract to get it cheaper so o2 offerd me a much much cheaper price
dam those slow 3-5 working days, i want my xda
Yuup! Could you buy me one too..this is so cheap!
Wow! I really envy you guys that are staying in Europe as the price for the XDA IIi & s are so cheap. Right here in Asia, we are paying through our nose even if it is bundle with contract, guess that is where O2 made their money from.
