O2 Xda II Asian Version to Dangaard ROM Radio Problem - MDA II, XDA II, 2060 ROM Development

I have an Xda II Asian Version witn ROM version 1.03. I tried flashing the ROM to the Dangaard 1.60.21WWE version, but I edited the ms_.nbf file with er2003edit, took out all the contents and replaced them with the contents of the Asian version extended ROM, and I also replaced the splash screen with the O2 original spalsh screen. Then I used the xda2nbftool to change the device name from PH10 to PH10B, and replaced the provider from Qtek to O2. I wanted the new ROM and new radio stack, but all the contents of my old extended ROM.
The upgrade went smoothly without a hitch, but now I cant get any signal from my provider, even if I force a manual search for networks. I noticed that after a hard reset, there is signal before the extended ROM contents are automatically installed. When the programs in the extended ROM are installed, then I have no signal again.
I figure its something being set or installed by my old extended ROM that is not compatible with the new ROM and radio stack.
Now I'm flashing back to the original ROM.
ANyone have any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Hi ZeroXtreme,
I used the T-Mobile 1.6 ROM (RUU16006WWE_T-mobile_NL.exe ), edited some stuff using xda2nbftool and it worked fine. I suggest that you use that instead.
You can refer to http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=4856

Hey Poch, Moonie here... did you get to keep all the stock O2 settings, like splash screens, dialer background, etc?
Oh, you wanna buy my InnoPocket Aluminum case for the Xda II? Just got it last week, its complete with everuthing and in mint condition, I decided to get a leather case for it instead. Give it to you for 1500

Restore Sprite 3.0 backup after upgrade to RUU172126WWE_imat

Hi,
Would anyone be able to comment on the success or otherwise of restoring a Sprite 3.0 backup, after performing an update from version 1.52.00WWE to the latest clubimate release 1.72.126WWE?
Or for that matter from any previous version?
And finally, is the upgrade worth doing, considering my good experience till now, see below.
My i-Mate with rom 1.52.00 version has worked very well for the past six months and I have held back with upgrading to any new versions until something worthy, like for instance better battery life, emerges. I just don't want to break it.
Everything works, and I don't believe I have even had one lock up in all that time - no hard resets. The phone works a treat. The camera is OK, though the photos are quite ordinary. Blue tooth file transfers only work from other devices to mine, but then again I only tried it to see if it worked, and never have had any reason to try again.
I have, however, had to soft reset it a few times, when things seemed to slow down a bit too much, but that's about all.
Thanks in advance.
Paul

Ok, it may work.......but he is right. All old rom-settings are put back on a new rom system. Sooner or later you're bound to get conflicts........
Never put an image back on a newer rom = rule nr 1 :!:
I think a full reinstall of your application set is always the best path forward after an OS upgrade. I am working on a script that does just this + some more... You may want to check back in the following thread occasionally. Regards

When restoring, just restore the emails, SMS messages, and all other document files,, EXCEPT the system files!
this should work like a charm using ONLY Sprite Backup 3.0
I was using
ROM version: 1.72.00 WWE (T-mobile beta)
Radio version: 1.12
Protocol: 1337.21
MMS Client: 1.6.0.12
ExtROM version: 1.72.104
then it was upgraded to
ROM version: 1.72.00 WWE (I-mate Official)
Radio version: 1.14
Protocol: 1337.24
MMS Client: 1.6.0.14
ExtROM version: 1.72.126
Using sprite backup to restore, the ExtROM was changed from 1.72.126 back to 1.72.104, and everythings work, and even SMS, can send & received without any problem.
I think becoz I have upgrade from 1.72 Tmob beta to 1.72 Imate official, so not much changes in the system files, except the radio, and some softwares in the extrom
Thank you one and all for all the helpful suggestions.

Still No extended ROM

Hi,
I posted a query on here a while ago re the above.
I have since downgraded back to 1.72 but the bluetooth is that awful I have gone up to 2.02 again.
I have downloaded the HIMA_WM_2K3_EXTROM.RAR file and unzipped it but how does this become the extended rom?
I have read the thread suggested by "edsub" and tried to upgrade with a MS_.NBF from the 1.72 package but I am still showing no extended rom.
I also took TPDisable out of the config.txt but my Himalaya still locked and needed to be reset.
Is this the reason as I guess the extended rom applications do not get chance to load?
Lastly I have never been able to get a bluetooth microphone to work with this firmware!Any Ideas?
Cheers
did you unlock the ExRom before trying to install a new one. There is a good util found on the forums that unlocks the ExRom and unhides it, maybe thats what you need to do first

Remove old extended_rom??

Well i've installed wpbear's wm6 rom package last week, with the LSVW wm 6 rom and the 1.34 radio, but i wanted to go back to WM5 so i extracted the OS from the cingular rom and installed it.
Everything went ok and the phone works ok, but i have to skip the extended rom install, because it first installes the old extended rom (i dont know if its still there from the factory or if its there from the LSVW rom) anyway when i mount and unlock my extended rom i can browse and edit it, but i only see the 'new' extended rom.. anyone else experienced this an know how i can remove the 'old' extended rom?
thanks alot
btw i read alot of wiki and did alot of searching but i could not find a problem similar to the one i have..

Getting a new 3125 whats the best rom to use?

and where do i dl it?
Download the latest ROM straight from HTC
Download the latest and the best ROM at http://www.america.htc.com/support/docs/RUU_STAR100_4.1.502.5_02.79.30_CWS_SHIP.exe
so this rom will run install on my cingular 3125 fine? it wont brick it will it? do i need to app unlock the phone?
No harm installing
This is the latest official cingular rom. It shouldn't brick your 3125 and you may not need to application unlock. Since you're getting a new 3125, this rom may be already installed in your device. Please check before you flash.
Since this is an official Cingular ROM, you won't have to app unlock to flash it. However, you should be aware that once you flash it, this ROM will leave your phone app locked (I know my 3125 was not app locked with the original ROM). So after you have flashed, if you want to install unsigned apps (freeware, etc), you can search this forum for a thread that has instructions to app unlock.
I'm very happy with this ROM on my 3125 - it has a very recent version of WM5 (AKU 3.4.2) and has been rock-solid for me. I wish they didn't put in the app lock, but it is easy enough to remove (some reg edits, etc)...
k thanks my 3125 should come in tomorrow... how good is the 3125 at playing video?
Playing XviD videos 320x240, cca 300 kbps, 25 fps in TCPMP is fine. Try it yourself Use PocketDivxEncoder for converting videos.
anyone get PocketDivxEncoder to work with vista it keeps messing up for me tried running it as administrator and it does same thing
I wouldn't recommend the latest Cingular Rom
made a mistake and updated my Cingular 3125 ROM with HTC's newest (since it was recommended..) and had nothing but hell afterwards.. in 2 days got a signal maybe 3 times and only once was I able to make a call at all.
I just added that rom to my 3125 hopefully I don't have the same problems. Im using tmobile so i'll let you know
stay away from the Cingular ROM it bogs down the system
stay away from the Cingular ROM it bogs down the system

Well, everyone's mileage is gonna vary. But just to add another data point to the mix - this ROM is working fantastic for me (3125 device on at&t network)...

Telstra HD2 questions

Hey guys, I have a Telstra HD2, unfortunately its loaded to the hilt with Telstra's bloatware and the phone now is acting slow as crap, the battery seems to die out fairly quickly with little use.
Anyways, I'm wondering if it would be possible to format the phone and reinstall Windows Mobile 6.5 back onto it, without all the Telstra stuff.
Thanks much.
theres a loong thread in either general, or Q&A all about the telstra and how to tweak it, unlock quicklinks and such like, however the easy way is simply get rid of the telstra rom.
YOur telstra is just a regular hd2, so no need to look for specific flashing instructions. As far as flashing and stuff goes, there are tmous hd2's and regular hd2's, , , you have a regular, so any rom, any radio.
put simply,,, for a winmo rom - hspl4 - upgrade radio - flash rom.
for android - hspl4 - upgrade radio - magldr - clockwork - flash rom.
its easy, so long as you dont just leap in feet first. Read all the 'how to flash bla blah' threads, and you cant go far wrong. By sunday you will have flashed it half a dozen times
I also have a Telstra HD2. It is rubbish.
Trust me, so the following:
1. Install HSPL 3.08
2. Install 314 KH WWE ROM
I had the previous 172 HK WWE ROM. Was very good, smoothish and ok battery.
I have been running 314 for a week. The phone has NEVER frozen, it is smooth, snappy, and battery is even batter. Only using 50-60 a day, after medium-heavy use.
Good luck.
