Rikaline GPS Receiver Problems - MDA, XDA, 1010 General

Please Help
I am trying to use the Rikaline 6010 GPS Receiver with O2 XDA PDA/Phone
Rom Version 3.17.03 ENG
Radio 4.21.00
I have sucessfully installed the USB drivers and tools. When I run comno.exe the PAD reports the COM port for the driver is 4. However if I run the test.exe and attempt to open port 4 it fails.
I have disabled Infared beams on the PDA. I have also done hard reset on the PDA removing all other software. In just installed the drivers.
All other GPS software fail to open PORT 4. Your help would be greatly appreciated.
Regards Richard

Problem solved. The GPS receiver does not require drivers..........

Anyone have 1.72 working with Alturion + BT GPS ????????????

What ever I try I can not get my Globalsat BT GPS working in Alturion 5.3 with i-mate 1.72. However I can see the responce of my GPS blue LED when I switch on Alt. with the correct com setting!
I tried e.g. hard-resets with/without WM installation of com5, with/without BTHTools installation of com7 and any combination (all with fresh Alt. installation, no other applications)
Beam "receive all incoming" is always off
TT3.03 however works fine in all conditions (installed after I try Alt.) with settings: SiRF Bluetooth/Bluetooth GPS
If anyone has Alturion 5.3 working with 1.72 ROM please let me know the details of your config e.g.:
- version of Alturion (I have 5.3.1.4 and don't trust some updates)
- BTHTools version/ port
- WM com port
- what GPS
- any special utils
or anything else you think is helpfull to try
Anyone knows if TT "SiRF Bluetooth/Bluetooth GPS" works via the serial port or does this somehow works differently???
Thanx for any suggestion.
Ronald

I have exactly the same ROM like yours !?. Is your "i-blue GPS" a SiRF II type?
The 5.3 upgrade you can download from www.alturion.com with this exe http://www.alturion.com/update/AlturionAutoUpdate21.exe It probably only works if you are a registered user.
Ronald
http://www.bluegps.com/
here its info about my bluetooth gps
I have 1.72 and Alturion PRO 5.3.
My Bt antenna is Emtac.
It works fine in this configuration.
When you make your connection to the BT antenna , do it through the bluetooth settings on your qtek where you activate the COM5 outbound. Then bond your device with the antenna.
it should work then.

ActiveSync needs help pls.

I've just received Siemens SX56 form a friend. After installed Activesync (I tried both OEM 3.5 and 3.8.0, download from Microsoft website) to computer, I stuck right at the 1st step. ActiveSync couldn't detect the PPC, even I did try it manually by clicking NEXT. The final result from this step is "USB is available" and that's all it. I did install and un-install ActiveSync hundreds of times and also, performed the hard reset on the handheld, but none of these tricks worked. BTW, I have no problem with HotSync of Palm Treo via USB.
My ROM ver. : A.30.09 ENG, Radio ver.: A.33.02
Anyone who has any ideal/solution please help. Many thanks.

FOR EXPERT: ActiveSync/SD flashing don't work: Hardware Issue??

I bought a HTC Touch Dual (Niki100-20keys) on internet. My home, notebook, office PCs don't recognize it.
This is the original sw configuration:
bootloader: SPL-1.16.000 (CPLD-4)
ROM: 1.31.831.11 (date:11/01/07)
RADIO: 1.58.16.27
OS: windows mobile 6 professional
THE BATTERY RECHARGES WHEN CONNECTED VIA USB.
After searching this forum and talking via PM with some moderators, I flashed WWE official ROM, trying to solve the USB issue. I used the SD-way and it worked fine. Now I have:
bootloader: SPL-1.22.000 (CPLD-4)
ROM: 2.16.831.3 (date:28/11/08)
RADIO: 1.65.29.22
OS: windows mobile 6.1 professional
But the ActiveSync don't work and the SD flashing don't work anymore.
THE BATTERY STILL RECHARGES WHEN CONNECTED VIA USB.
I tried every procedure described in this forum (searched for 3 weeks and tested), but I can't see the phone from PC (also MTTY doesn't recognize it on any COM/Usb port).
It seem to be a Hardware Issue (also according to HTC On-line Technical Service).
Anyone can help me? Is there a test I can do to verify if really USB data transfer channel is broken?? Shoul I try to change USB miniport on the board??
Thanks in Advance

USB loses connection.....cannot upgrade.

Hello, i'm trying to upgrade my device but facing a weird problem. The WMDC works fine and i can sync my device. When i run the RUU, it analyzes the rom and put the device in bootloader mode....
as soon as the device enters the bootloader, the usb loses the connection and says "cannot recognize the device" or "drivers not found" etc....and the RUU gives the error of "cannot connect to the device. make sure...."
I have tried this with the AthenaUnlocker as well as the AthenaWrapper. I'm currently on SPL 1.1 and want to upgrade to 1.2
Please help!
I have the same problem!
I want to install HSPL on my device. I cannot install this via SD Card so i tried it with USB. But after the bootloader the connenction was lost. Many times...
Can somebody tell me how to fix this problem?
Thanks
Edet: My device is a HTC HD2
This might not fit your problem, but ...
... try to connect your device to a PC/laptop with USB 1.1 - with my Ameo I have many "connection loss" problems with USB 2.0 speed, which occure only on heavy (data) load on syncing.
Disabling USB2.0 is possible on some machines within the BIOS.
If you got no PC/laptop with USB1.1 you can disable the USB 2.0 related driver in the Windows Device Manager (it works for me, in general). Therefor open the device manager and select the "View" menu -> devices by connection (or similar). Now search for the Athena entry attached to the listed USB hardware. Disable the "most-upper" USB controller the Athena is attached to.
OK, the last description might be confusing, but try.
Good luck (as this solution fits to your problem, as I am not sure)
What worked for me

I just spent the weekend trying to unlock my Athena and was having the exact same problem... USB would disconnect, errors 202, 267 . I finally was able to flash the Olipro bootloader, but had a hard time unlocking the radio. My device showed no radio under its properties, so I could not tell what radio version I had. Pressing "phone" would not bring the dialup screen. After so much sweat, I had to put it apart, only to find that the radio board connection to the motherboard was improperly seated, thus was having a bad connection. Once the connection was properly seated, the phone booted up to the emergency call screen, notified that there was no SIM card detected and when I looked in the device properties, the radio version was listed!. I then proceeded to unlock and flash the radio and this time the connection was not lost, the process completed without a glitch.
Hope that helps...
