O2 Asia Rom is it safe??? - MDA II, XDA II, 2060 ROM Development

I have a Uk 02 XDA2 and have accidentally flashed it with an I-Mate Radio Stack, OS and Extended Rom,
The only rom I can find is the Asia Rom, is it safe for me to use this rom on my XDA2, will I get any problems.
Will it return my XDA2 to a normal spec UK 02 XDA2? or will it still be different?
I can dump my O2 extened rom back to it to get the O2 settings. because i back that bit up before wipeing the rest.

What you meant by "Asia ROM"? Where did you get it?

Someone PM it to me?
I thinks its for XDA 2 but not sure?

XDA II on Orange

Hey guys,
I'm getting a XDA II (latest o2 UK update) and I will be using it with an Orange sim.
Which rom is the best to have for me?
I saw the new iMate rom was released.
o2 is installed now but I don't need any o2 stuff as I will be using it on Orange.
What do you guys think?
Keep the o2 rom or upgrade to another? (QTek, iMate, etc)
Cheers
I have an M1000 (Orange's XDA2) and thats running v1.60, the latest one you can download from the O2 site. I'd guess use that on your XDA 2 and you shouldn't have any problems
Hey m8,
Thanks for the reply.
You have a m1000 running the o2 rom?
Didn't you have an Orange m1000 rom?
If you still have the m1000 rom could you post it?
Cheers
Moogled,
What improvements do you see using the 1.60 ROM ?
I have an M1000 with the original (English Language) 1.52 ROM.
Using a couple of tools, I have GPRS always on and my TomTom 2 is working perfectly.
I don't feel that I am missing anything, and since the upgrade would void the waranty from Orange, I am holding back upgrading..
Regards
Michael
Plz share your 1.60 rom for the M1000. I'm having an Orange M1000 (with the 1.52 rom), and would very much like to hear from anyone having upgraded this model.
Anyone gonna help me out with this one?
Thanks
Panja
No one....?
I simply used a standard UK version (it WAS actually the USA ROM when it arrived), of the XDA2, with my Orange UK SIM.
Works fine.
Since then I have upgraded to the latest UK O2 ROM upgrade - again no problem.
I have also done a lengthy post on here as to all the Orange settings ou need for the phone.

there's no 1.72 from o2?
ABSOLUTELY YES !!!
i don't know, why 02 always came late a release new ROM !!! (I hate very much) compared with qtek, imate,& t-mob.
A newer O2 XDA2 come out with 1.66 rom included, but it is unpublished rom.
Is there an official web site for downloading qtek 2020 ROM?
Is there an official web site for downloading qtek english 2020 ROMs for belgium ?

Should I Upgrade?

Hi all,
I'm a newbie here and want to upgrade my rom which is
1.60.00WWE,
radio 1.06.01,
ext rom 1.60.06,
I am using Turkcell as my gsm operator (Turkey) and my settings are for . Turkey. I downloaded a rom file in the forums named o2 1.72wwe. Is it just for the o2 users or does it support my gsm provider?
Any help would be appreciated,
dr_kaan
BTW: I bought the T-mobile XDA2 from a guy in Istanbul. He told me the original rom was German t-mobile rom. The rom i'm using now is Dutch.
you can do everything with your ROM, because you allways can recover by sd card, but never touch RADIOSTACK.
sorry... but that's nonsense...
On the XDA2 the radiostack will upgrade together with the rom and the ext-rom for all rom's higher than 1.60.
Explicatly people ruined their machine because the removed the radiostack file from the upgrade...
As usual... if you don't have problem's don't upgrade...
For me 1.60 ROM is still one of the best.
I go with that, I also have the dutch rom, and so far, it has been the most stable one, I upgraded from the german Rom.
The dutch one is a really recomandable
Thank you guys i will continue with it.
The reason i wanted to upgrade was a friend of mine told me that the new rom extended the battery life.Is that true?
One more question, will we be able to upgrade to wm2003 se?
Thanks
i think so,
i have tried my device from full capacity (100%) till 7%, i have 05.12 hours.
condition :
browsing & using excell, (no mp3, movie & game).
yes, we will, if SE come out from our provider.

Official 02 rom to official generic rom?

Ok bascially my hd2 is locked to 02 and has an 02 rom (i.e. Displays "02" when booting) but I want to update it to the generic official rom and not the official 02 rom (long story)
I know my phone will remain locked on 02 but can I go to a generic rom without risk of bricking or is there some sort of security in place that means the phone has to have an 02 or a cooked rom installed?
Thanks

Take a look at this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=825397
Follow the process A,B and C
That will get you to the stock 3.14 ROM.
I used the 2GB microSD card which came with the phone and the CID was the one mentioned in B.O.2 so I was able to do it for free.
When you say "locked on O2" have you tried other sims? I've been with O2 for years and never been locked to them, I often use an orange PAYG sim for Orange Wednesdays and I've used a friend's Voda sim to test something before too.
Tyvm that is the anwser I was looking for
for a nice bit of reading - * HERE *
If your O2 phone is running ROM version 1.48 or 1.72, then you can simply run HSPL2 then flash HTC stock ROM 1.66WWE. 1.66 is the same as 1.72 without the guff.

Well if O2 are anything like T-Mobile UK, then there is their Web'n'Walk software. It doesn't take 3+ months to bring out the 1.72 ROM based on the 1.66 ROM without some major mucking about.

Ah thankfully the O2 ROMs are very clean, and in my experience stable.
Other than the O2 APN settings app, and the O2 splash screen before the horrible orange MS one, that's about it.
