Hello,
I write a little Today Plugin to configure and switch between differents phone modes. The system/phone volume, the ring mode and the SMS, reminders notifs are customizable. The graphics too.
I use it for 2 weeks now but I'd like some people try it and give me their feedback, comments...

These are the future of phone profile control, as far as I can tell. Yours is now the second app to provide this functionality, and more can only be good. The other one is PhoneProfilesSeriously (seriously ), which seems to be full of bugs, judging by the comments made in these forums.
I have some comments about your software. Hope this helps!
- The icons are too big. Maybe we could have the option to choose the profile using smaller icons on the Today screen? I know that we can make our own icons, but even if they are smaller with a transparent surrounding, they will still use the same space on the Today screen.
- I would like more than four definable profiles.
- It would be nice to be able to choose a specific sound to be played for each alert type in each profile (i.e. complete alert- and profile-specific sounds).

I can say it's a promising start. However, the setup screen will make THE difference. It's a bit difficult to adjust the configuration using the text file . It reminds me when I was using Borland C++ to develop Win 3.1 applications before the first VB version
I have to do many trials to get the desired result.

Excellent LITTLE utility.
I had bought "My Phone Profiles", and removed it to use this one. "My phone Profiles" was buggy and made the whole device very slow.
You might want to try the attached settings. Just unzip and copy to:
\Program Files\PocketZenPhone\
I say excellent work (especially with the extra icons)
One thing: Could you find an easier way to setup the profiles, better than to tweak the Phonesettings.txt file
I currently add a window to set the phone modes and I will try to add more settings (notifs ...)
But I have not many time to program this software so it will take a little time to implement new fontions ...

I add a configuration window and allow to customize the notifications.
I will maybe try to allow to configure the sound for the notification and maybe ring tone but later ...
I don't touch to the icons size for the moment but if it is a big problem I will see :wink:

Does this software work with WM2002 as well?
I compiled it using the Pocket PC 2003 SDK but I don't use any PPC2003 specific functions.
So this should work under PPC2002 but I cannot try as my XDA is under WM2003...
Let me know if it works ... if not I will try to make a PPC2002 version ...
Being new to this I downloaded the files but they are not the installer type that automaticly install,
They are .001 files what do I do with them?
On a WM2002 machine the programme (v2, 26-2-2004) does not seem to install correctly. After copying and executing the cab file it looks like it installs and it does make the PocketZenPhone directory, but no .exe file can be found. Did I do something wrong?

Just copy the file as it is to your device, and run it from there. It will install automatically as a today plugin.
You should have download a .cab file (PocketZenPhone.arm.cab exactly)
Copy it on your pocket (through activeSync for example)
Then on your pocket click on this .cab
It will install automatically the Today plugin.
After that go to Settings->Today->Items and you should see PocketZenphone in the list (it should be checked)
Simply click on ok and when you return to the today page the plug in should appear...
PS for vhan3 : This is not an exe file but a dll file ... so it is normal you don't see it directly on your pocket ... The cab file only creates the registry keys, create the directory and copy the dll on it
No comments at this time but this nice program seems to have lots of promise.

1. After first install, all profiles volumes are set to -1 (Perharps because of an empty regisrty at this time). Should set default values like in V1
2. Uninstall is... arrrggg... impossible until you rename dll and reset. Now, I know... no matter (First tried to uninstall after above bug occured)
3. WORKS GREAT !!! VERY NICE TOOL, VERY USEFULL TOO. THANK YOU !

Thanks for the tips. I tried this on my Qtek 2020: no problems, however on my XDA-1 (WM2002) the plug-in does not appear, nor is it visible in the Today item list.
How do you rename the Dll?

Hello,
1) Ok I will add default params for each modes
2) To uninstall a today plugin you have to disable it before uninstall it.
So to uninstall PocketZenPhone, simply go to Settings->Today->Items, then uncheck PocketZenphone in the list. After that you can uninstall it without any problem (no reset ...)

How to flash:
0) READ A README.DOC FILE located in RUU folder in the archive!!!

i think you can change the language in regional settings. im not 100% sure, my phone is still backing up. cant wait to try it.

most likely, you only need to change it in settings-system-regional settings

OK i finally flashed WM6.1 PRO to my startrek. so *****ing as always (sorry Erofich, i just want to help you guys iron out the bugs), here is the bugs list. (to be updated as frequently as needed, so please check back this post)

1. Microphone AGC does not work. enabling will only get a white display with nothing (doesnt hang the device though). and when you check it again, it is still not enabled.
UPDATE : Will be removed in future version
2. When in fake cursor mode, if you leave the device there for a while and it does into standby, the device wakes up in a black dark screen, with only cursor working and the rest of the buttons disabled. cannot access anything too. (i have the owner information displayed on power up optoion checked)
UPDATE : According to Erofich, new cursor coming soon!
3. Camera software is not displaying properly. no menu can be seen, or message from the software cannot be seen. settings keys not working too.
UPDATE : Currently in development by Erofich
4. I noticed bluetooth light is flashing when device is switced on, however, when the OS is fully loaded, bluetooth is not ON. not really an issue, just an observation.

1. back key for smartphone to be enabled so we can map it to close/OK instead of having to hold home key. (will it affect phone dialing backspace? im not sure)
UPDATE : As suspected, nothing can be done here. Holding home key for OK/Close is a bit troublesome,but i guess we just have to sacrifice this for WM PRO

1. Old programs that are not designed with soft key feature is a really a PAIN. have to depend a lot on fake cursor. hopefully GreatVK will have a better solution for cursor.
UPDATE : Discovered an easier way of minimizing. double click on home key will minimize any running program.

Yes tes.. but i think the Xt9 for pocket pc works.. but witch pack of xt9? I try something... i try to change mssp2 and statdict.0409 and dictprob.0409 file to italian.. but i have no results! This is my latest kitchen. This kitchen is based on Calkulin's kitchen with updates and some modifications done by me. The kitchen is a bit more than a basic setup and should have all the tools you need as you expand your chef skills. It can be used for HTC Diamond, Touch Pro and Touch HD.
This is what I use to create my ROMs found here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=466438 It is based on
CE version: 5.08.502.1 | OS build: Windows Mobile 6.1 AKU 1.4.6 Build 20771
Basic instructions:
Extract Kitchen base files.
Extract Packages into At0mAng Kitchen - 5.08.502.1 folder
Double click At0mAng's HTC Kitchen.CMD to start
ROM Building:
From main menu
Select Option 1
You will be presented with a device list to build kitchen, select your device.
From there you will be presented with 3 more options, I like to use Option 3, Build a ROM using BuildOS+ Package Tools
Once BuildOS starts click on BuildOS
Leave packages Tweaks, ProFuze Keyboard switcher and Enahanced Video Driver selected (on) so they are include in the ROM you build.
Select other packages that you desire
Once all packages are selected press GO (Green Arrow)
Once BuildOS is complete a window will pop up asking you what Device once again. Select your device.
After that step is complete flash program will begin.
If you do not wish to flash than press cancel and the new ROM can be found in the RUU subfolder.
Advance Features
If you are looking to use the advance features of the kitchen please search XDA to learn how to use them. I only provided the tools in the kitchen so as your cooking skills expand the tools are there for you.
Notes:
All ROMs based on the default setup will have a 16MB pagepool unless you change it before flashing. A utility to change pagepool can be found in the RUU folder.
Make sure you only have one dialer group selected.
Make sure you only have one or none TF3D flavors.
If you are a Windows Live user then cook Windows Live into the ROM. For some reason installing Windows Live from a cab does not play nice with the new ROMs or my builds. Looking into it.
The default keyboard is set for a Touch Pro. I have included a niftly little app called ProFuze created by trinode that allows you to switch keyboard layouts without any regedits or cab installs.
Vista users make sure you have UAC (User Access Control) disabled.
If you would like to learn more about the advanced options of the kitchen then please look around XDA for additional info.

Ok the only things that should be selected so they are included in the ROM are Tweaks and Video driver.
Updated first post to what should be selected as on for all ROMs.

You need to be logged into windows as an admin. If it is a work laptop and you do not have the admin password then you can not run it. If it is your own personal laptop then just log into the admin account and you should be fine or give your account admin rights.

Make sure you extacted it correctly. THe OS.nb.payload file is in the ROM folder.

I just downloaded it and it is running fine. Did you try to do anything else besides build a ROM? Only thing I can suggest is to delete the kitchen folder and extract it again.
I cant figure out how you add packages. I click on Packages to insert in ROM and nothing happens. I need some step-by-step instructions. I have no clue what the execute Xipporter means or anything.

Add packages by copying whatever package folder to the package folder inside the main kitchen folder.
XIPPorter is an advnace feature. For the advance features please search around XDA to learn what they do and how to use them. There is a good thread in Deve and Hacking. It is not needed right now if you are just cooking. If you are looking to port different builds from different devices that's when it can come in handy.
UpToDate is a medical software which, in my opinion, is indispensible.
I faced a lot of problems in trying to run it on lots of WM 6.5.5 ROMs on my Raphael aka Touch Pro owing to which i had to stick to WM 6.1 ROMs!
But finally I found that the solution for this existed in fragments on XDA itself.
So I thought it would be great if it is compiled at one place so that everyone who is looking for it finds it.
DrTom's fix works on Energy Rom Leo 26 Feb WM 6.5.5 Sense 2.5.2012 build 23541 on My HTC Touch Pro!
Here is what I did:
1. Installed DrTom's Uptodate fix in device (see attachment).
2. Device prompts for soft reset-> say yes.
3. Make following registry changes using any registry editor like Sktools:
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{8856F961-340A-11D0-A96B-00C04FD705A2}\InprocServer32]
default="shdocvw2.dll"
"ThreadingModel"="both"
Or if you have started using the new XDA_UC then
Download uptodate fix.txt from attachments in this post ----> rename it to uptodate fix.reg ---->copy and paste the uptodate fix.reg in \StorageCard\XDA_UC\SD folder ----> sit n njoy
Note you have to number both the files so that DrTom's fix installs before registry changes. I did it by renaming them to 01_DrTom UpToDate fix.cab and 02_UpTodate fix.reg!
4. Uptodate 17.3 works perfectly like it used to work on WM 6.1 ROMs!
5. Njoy and thanks a ton to DrTom for his wonderful fix!
P.S.: Internet explorer does not works with this fix but Opera works! So all surfing via Opera!

It works well on my Touch pro. Current Rom in my signature!
I hv installed opera 10 beta 3 as my default browser!
Working well with my OmniaII using GC lite rom(6.5.5). So great!!!, thank a million to you(DrTom). Now my problem with Uptodate have solved.

After the 1st of April UpToDate v17.3 stopped working. I should change the date of my phone(before the 1st of April) in order to make it work. It says some sh**s about expiration. Any fix???

Im not a expert but im fix the problem change the day of my windows phone. for example put it march 1 2009 and it works fine.
My uptodate 17.3 also expires. But i had the solution. Actually i found it incidentally. What i did is i went to the original 2577 folder in the iso dvd file , copy the cab file of the pocketpc sub folder, then paste it to pocketpc subfolder of 2577 folder in my pocket pc replacing the cab which i have taken from uptodate 17.2 to install the 17.3 to prevent card activation notification(which i think you have already done). Install the cab file agian on top of the previous installation.Open uptodate again. it works for me. I dont know how!!!!

you might be using custom gridscene that was setup in registry which I tried to ask in Chefs thread.. and still no answer from them

very nicely done. What program were you using in the first video to control your device with your pc? I've used several. Some I like more than others but they all have their faults/lack of capability.

very nicely done. What program were you using in the first video to control your device with your pc? I've used several. Some I like more than others but they all have their faults/lack of capability.

I was just using an Windows Emulator from Visual Studio.
but if you want a desktop app to control the screen of your winmo device; you can use My Mobiler. It's very very free!
Nice job seeing the videos, what about making it for HVGA aswell, tried it with hope but no luck on my HD mini

That registry key tells the start menu engine to use a "custom" .cpr layout for the Start menu. The normal filename of for the start menu layout is StartMenu_GridScene_480x800.cpr , but if you have the registry key enabled, then windows looks for StartMenuCust_480x800.cpr . HTC does this by default in their stock ROMs, in order for windows to load their custom .cpr files. A pure windows ROM will look for a StartMenu_GridScene_480x800.cpr for example.
Some chefs choose not to mess with that and just StartMenuCust_480x800.cpr gets used. *I* for example, take that key out in my ROMs and I use StartMenu_GridScene_480x800.cpr . So you just have to account for both All you have to do is look for the registry key and if it's not there, then it's safe to say StartMenu_GridScene_480x800.cpr is the layout used.

hi nice app. but sadly dosent work on HD2 , hope works in a future cose is a god app to have.
I got it working on my European HD2 (Factory ROM) by editing the registry value - as mentioned in an earlier post in this thread. As suggested I changed the registry key HKLM\Security\Shell\StartMenu] "CustomGridForm" to say "StartMenuCust" instead of "StartMenuCust". after a soft reset the program worked.

ok my register key now is
HKLM\Security\shell\startmenu "CustomGridForm" = StartMenuCust
what do i have to chage from this register key to make the JWMD Armis work? becouse i didnt get what u said .

if you have stock rom or your chef did not change any graphical changes in the start menu (other than number of columns) then:
create/update this registry

CustomGridForm="StartMenu"

OK,i will install it once again on my hd2 and try your modification...
