use iPAQ gps-mouse on XDA2 - MDA II, XDA II, 2060 ROM Development

hi there,
i need some help!
days ago i changed from an ipaq4150 to an xda2 - in my car i have a fix installed gps-mouse (nearly unremoveable) with brodit cradle for using with my 4150.
because i now want to use my xda2 for navigation, i today bought a brodit cradle for the xda2.
as i know the serial interface of an ipaq isn´t the same as on the xda2, i need to modify the gps-mouse-plug to use it on my xda2.
does anyone of you know how to modify the pin-connections or does there exist a interface plug??
cheers, eric

Bluetooth GPS

Help
I am new to the XDA II, i just purchased a bluetooth GPS device Polstsr PBT111, offered as working with XDAii usual story.
The device will pair without any problems.
However any attempt to open a serial port, nothing happens(except the odd unit reset). A LED on the unit is supposed to come on steady instead of flashing. The supplied software for PDA tester does not open the serial port. Are there any ways to configure a serial port on the XDAII, this seems to be the problem?( like system manager on a PC). I have pocket PC2003 rom version 1.03.00 USA
I have contacted the supplier and manufacturer but as yet no reply. I may have a faulty unit, but without another unit to try or some sesible ideas I am a little stuck. Any help gratefully accepted.
I think you have to install BthTools : http://bluetooth.i-networx.de/index_e.html
or upgrade to 1.72
OS prior to 1.72 don't allow to choose a serial port to a bluetooth connection, that's where bthtools comes in
Thank you for the info, works a treat.
Next challenge is upgrade the ROM to 1.72?
I would definitely recommend an upgrade to 1.72 OS and 1.17 Radio, especially when you want to make use of Bluetooth.
mikecheney,
I can confirm 1.72 and the Polstar BT111 work fine for me with TomTom3 using just the supplied MS BT stack. Just had to pair the devices, then TT picks it up using its own 'Bluetooth GPS' config. pm me if you're having any grief.
1.72 provides the COM4/5 option for bt which was greyed out before in 1.66. This is part of what edsub refers to. With 1.72 you don't need Pocket Bluetooth Tools.
You can upgrade the ROM at the o2.co.uk xda home page.
cheers,
Alex.
Pharos Bluetooth GPS Receiver
Hi!
It looks to me like this is what I need.
I just purchased a Bluetooth GPS Receiver (iGPS-360) from Pharos. The problem is that I couldn't get it to work on my XDA2.
Do you think upgrading to ROM 1.72 will solve my problem?
If so, how do I upgrade to ROM 1.72 ... I need step-by-step instructions ... any links to it?
I'd appreciate your help

M2000 just arrived.....

Sat on my desk, charging up as i type.
Is it possible to rip the rom image off and dump it on the M1000 I've also got?
Already upgraded another M1000 using the mystery man rom (and before any one asks, we're an IT company, so we all have one!), just wondering if there's any benefit in pulling stuff off the M2000?

Upgrading without bracket

Hi all,
I got a little problem. Ik want to upgrade my MDAII to wm2003se. The problem is that the connector in my MDAII is broken, so I connect it to my PC with BT. Is there a way to upgrade it without using the bracket ?
thanx

Wallaby and S100 compatibility ?

Hi ppl, have external GPS for Wallaby which cable connects to the port on the bottom of the wallaby, since Im considering the buying of the Qtek S100 maybe someone know is the connector on the bottom compatible so I can use GPS on S100 too ?
Tnx !
Looks bad.
As much as i know, the S100 has just USB-Interface, and not serial as the Wallaby. Only Bluetooth GPS-Receivers will work....
Stefan
My hands was faster than brain, later I ve checked connectors and found same thing you told Stefan, sorry !
Anyway that S100 has gone before I layed my hands on it (already sold) so now I have offer for 2020. Checked pictures, connector looks the same as in 1010.
Same question, does anyone know are they compatible, intend to use GPS and travel charger from 1010 on 2020...
Thanks and sorry for bothering guys ! BR !
No problem.....
And yes, you´re right Wallaby and Himalaya has the same connector. So they are compatible and you can use your GPS with it.....
Stefan
Thank you Stefan, you are an (blue) angel
Best !

use a pc bluetooh keyboard on wm6 tytn

I just bought a orange spv m3100 from ebay and am waiting for it to arrive, probably around wednesday, at which time i will reflash it with wm6 black shadow. Anyways, im also getting a new pc and ps3, so im getting a bluetooth keybaord, as it can work with both. I was wondering if it will work out of the box with the refalshed tytn.this may seem like a stupid question, but i think its relevant.
thanks in advance
rory
I used my microsoft bluetooth keyboard with my TyTn with orginal rom no problem. In fact it was harder to get it to work with the PC!
