Can anybody tell me if i got a Wallaby or Himalaya. Im from Australia and have an O2 XDA 1 Pokcet PC Phone Edition.

Radio Version: 4.21.00
Protocol Version: 32S54
Please let me know and suggest a suitable ROM update for it. I wanna know which one to download to upgrade to Windows Mobile 2003. There are so many that ive seen and im not sure which one will work here in Australia on the OPTUS network.

Try going here where there are pictures of the devices so you can see which one is which, you can even match up your serial number there.

Panja is on the right way....
Himalaya = XDA II, MDA II, QTEK 2020 and the new Vodaphone PDA
Wallaby = XDA I, MDA I and QTEK 1010
It´s not a matter of way it looks, but on the Hardware....

I have just bought a XDA from a o2 shop in the UK.
I have been exploring around it and checked out my Device Information and this is what it says :-
ROM version : 1.03.00 USA
ROM date : 09/24/03
Radio Version : 1.05.12
Protocol Version : 1337.12
Now to me these nubers seem totally different to what everyone else has. I have not made any alterations to the phone and as I said bought it from a o2 shop.
I was thinking of adding the o2 update to it

Dan,
I believe, this ROM upgrade is for XDA not XDA II. Please be patient for about a couple of weeks and official upgrade will be available.

It's allright... allthough it is a pretty old ROM
Mine (Qtek 2020) had the same ROM when it was new, but I upgraded a couple of times, now using the 1.60 Dangaard ROM that works good...
To play it safe, wait til O2 release their official upgrade...

I have a XDA II bought in UK in December 2003 and I upgraded to 1.60.WWE and now when I try to uprgade to the new O2 XDA II ROM, country error shows up.
:arrow: I tried everything, so there is only on thing left to do. Go back to the original rom (i dont really know if country error will turn up, will see :?: ) and upgrade to the new one :!:

On the O2 website (http://www.o2.co.uk/productsservices/xda/romupgrade) is download for the following upgrade :
Phone Upgrade (v4.21) and Operating System Upgrade (v3.17.03)
I've only had my phone for about 3 months. The Pocket PC Version of my XDA is 4.20.0 (Build 13252). ROM Vers = 1.60.00WWE
ROM Date = 13/03/03
Radio Vers = 1.10.00
ExtROM = 1.60.45
Protocol Vers = 1337.18
I don't fancy having to resinstall all the apps I've put on the PDA all over again. Also, don't fancy things going wrong during upgarde.
Any comments or advise please.

That is the upgrade for xda1.
Do you mean the upgrade I'm referring to in the link is to upgrade XDA 1 and therefore I don't know to upgrade mine?
Why, then, have O2 put it up as an upgrade on the XDA 2 site web page?

i dont think o2 have an 1.66 upgrade out yet
maybe they are skipping it for a later rom version
Rudegar - based on what you're saying, I may as well wait until the 1.66 release is promoted by O2. Would you agree?
Judging from the ROM Vers (1.60.00.wwe) & Radio Vers (1.10.00) that my XDA is already on, am I likely to be okay if I were to try to use bluetooh? I've not used bluetooth with my device yet, but I may want to in the future.

You until don't think abt upgrade ur device to WM2005. WM2005 until hopeless for all. Now u can upgrade only WM2003se. :roll:
First you have to know what you are doing. Read first a lot of tutorials before you act. And if you already know then you can now reflash.
Try using your device for 2weeks and if you're not happy with it be ready for upgrade.

check the back of ur xda whether it is model: PW10A or PW10B, here in Egypt the PW10A is the working model, and i think it is the same at lebanon. inform me with the result!
