Hi All,
My Prophet just died...
I made a RadioROM upgrade and after a reboot I did an IPL upgrade. I did a soft reset and now it doesn't want to turn on. I'm really confused what did I make wrong and how can I redo it.
I'm looking forward to a helpful info.
Thanks
Does your screen stay black or does it display anything? Can you enter bootloader? And why would you want to upgrade your IPL???
My screen is dark black, I can not even turn it on. I doesn't matter what sort of switch I press on the dev. So I can't see the bootloader and I think it's a serious problem...
After the IPL upgrade the reboot was succesful and on the startup screen it says IPL 2.20.0001 and worked for a while.
I've changed my local settings, which reqiures a soft reset, so I did it. After this, no aswer...
I'm very dissapointed because of the pda and your help dear all...
Is your battery dead? Try it with your charger.
No, my battery was fully charged before I ran into this major problem...
I had a similar issues which was misteriously resolved after a few plug ins and battery removals. I also let the battery completely drain and removed it from phone for a few hours. It worked when connected to wall charger but not with battery. It seemed like interior phone battery was dead. One day I connected it to the wall charger and the battery status when from zero to 98% and it stayed there. Really weird stuff. I ordered another battery and so far so good. One of the batteries did die and i discarded it, but I still use the other old battery plus I have a new spair.
Yamilrx, thanks the info...
I'll try it, but I've lost my faith in this device. It's in clinical dead state for 2 days from now, and it looks like doesn't want to wake up or alive.
This is a very misteroius issue.
I don't understand it, if I upgraded wrongly somebody tell me, why was the device started after? And if it was a wrong update, how can I turn it on and make calls, etc. and after a soft reset it DOESN'T reply for anything?!
I bought it almost 2 years ago, so I assume the battery could cause similar problem. But it was almost fully charged. The Star Wars was less incredible then this thing...
Except this, I'll accept your advice. I'm going to try it.
try the following, as your device is dead and curently noy useable.
-remove the battery for a day and just leave it there
- put in the battery and connect the charger
- hold your camera button while turning the device on
do you get into the 3 colored screen? if so, the device can now be downgraded etc.
particular reason why you have not tried a HARD reset?

Thanks, I'll try it first after go to a shop and buy a battery.
Anyway, when I mentioned I've tried all the combinations of the buttons, I meant i did a hard reset too. But my Spleeping Beauty is still doing the same...
The problem hasn't been solved by the solutions you have mentioned before, so I've called the HTC technical support, they were very friendly - they must be because I'll pay for it - and 2 days from now they will tell me how much does it costs or it is repairable or not...
Thanks for your help.

I did that with mine to see if it would reset device once the internal battery is totally discharged. Like I said earlier, mine came back to live. Make sure you install the WM 5 rom used for downgrading and don't try any of the WM 6 roms until the device is fully functional with wm5. The batteries are $8 on ebay but they take 1 week to get here from Hong Kong.
If winter comes, can sping be far away?
Hi All,
The service technician examined my Prophet and he said, I have to change a mainboard. Have you ever run into this kind of problem? If I want a repair, it'd cost me 300 Euro!!
Luckily I still have a warranty, so I hope I don't have to pay for the service.
Take care your Prophet...
I was flashing a new rom. And after it said 100% on the phone it turned black and never lit up again. I waited i didnt pull out the usb. 15 min later i checked it again still black. i pulled the usb out. hit the power button and nothing happend. i did a hard reset and still the phone wount power on. The phone's charging led light wount even come on when i plug it up. So i assume i have bricked me phone ?
I have HSPL3
miri19v
froyostone 3.1v
is there any way to bring it back to life or do i toss it in the trash?
thanks for the help
i have also tried to go into boot loader and NIL!
from your use of the word 'trash' can i assume you have a tmous hd2? if so, what did you flash? was it a non tmous stock rom (meaning a bad radio)?
(oh, first job tho, check for bent battery pins)
the pins are fine. yeah i was actually flashing a stock tmou rom.
got the full filename for the rom you downloaded please? (just checking you havent downloaded a t mobile rom that isnt tmous)
the reason im pushing that line of enquiry is that the symptoms you describe are consistent with either
wrong radio (from the wrong stock rom)
bent battery pin
over discharged battery
to test the over discharged battery you can take it out, plug usb in with wall charger, then put battery in. this lets it charge without trying to turn on the phone. the light may not come one for some time, so leave it a good hour or two.
Hey Sam,
I'm having this issue too. I am relatively positive it's from an over-discharged battery. The phone conked out a few nights ago, and later when trying to charge it I got nothing - until yanking the battery for a bit, plugging in the charger, then popping in the battery. Now, every time the battery drains I have to do this.
Is the battery "damaged" now, or do you have any suggestions to fix the prob? I see this posted a bit but no one has any solutions that I've found.
Thanks!
Ryan
well i know the principals of these batteries, but not really the mechanics, so yes id guess the battery is defective, (but it could be the phones internal battery control circuits too, again just guessing) but no i dont know if there is a cure, other than try another battery, and if it cures it, ok, but if not then it would be a warranty issue.
are you using android? cos from what ive read it discharges quickly under android or something? (never used it so cant tell)
Did a search and couldn't find any answers.
So my GSII was working awesomely with the Resurrection ROM. Fast, no issues other than it wasn't going into deep sleep enough, but still had decent battery life.
Was working fine then I pulled it out of my pocket and it was dead. Totally Dead. No heat, nothing. After hours of trying to turn it on, it booted and went to the lock screen, but was frozen and showed 0% battery. I then had to pull the battery to reboot only for it to never wake again.
I doubt it's water damage, there are no signs. The wettest it might have gotten is a some sweat from running. A quick check at a cell repair place shows the same (they saw no signs). Soft/hard reset tries, button combinations, nothing. Three different batteries, nothing. Any tips to try and revive? Should I try to send for repair? I have a good bit of pics/vids on the internal memory that I'd like to salvage.
Thanks.
Do you have one of those docks where it`s possible to charge a battery dettached from the phone? If you do - or have access to one - I`d leave the battery there for 4-5 hours and then try again.
Yes, and all three batteries have been charged/tested. None wake the phone.
Hm...
Please check it pulse, pupils response, give some cpr.. if it doesn't work then it is already dead. tq
p/s:if you are using resurrection rom, the phone should be alive again.. now started to think you r trolling

Device: E10i
Firmware: MiniCM9(ICS I think)before, Then changed it into MiniCM10, before finally reverting into MiniCM7
Hi, I just got my E10i yesterday after it was confiscated by my mom. So I think it was left uncharged for around 2-3 months. so, of course, the first thing I did was to plug it up into a wall charger, and. went to school and I left it like that for around 5 hours? After I got home, I noticed it only started charging few minutes ago because the battery was still at red (like 1-10%)
After a few hours, I decided to finally turn it on. It was only like 5% charged. I reverted my phone into MiniCM7 from MiniCM10.. Well afterwards, I decided to jam in a few apps there in my phone since it was freshly wiped. Then I left my phone charging for a few minutes because I needed to get something. When I got back. The screen was fully black. No even LED lights if its charging or what. Then I thought the battery was just drained. (Opps, I forgot to mention, I forgot to wipe battery stats after installing new rom, but I think a fresh wipe did that already)/
Then, I went to sleep with the device still plugged into the AC adaptor. Then I woke up around 3AM (I went to sleep around 11PM) and to find it's still black. I tried doing a hard reset, turning it on. No response. Like a paperweight. Then, I wiggled the cable and tried changing sockets hoping that it's the problem. Then went back to sleep. I finally woke up today, at around 7AM. No luck. Still like that. Tried plugging it into the PC. etc. SEUS can't even detect it! Please I don't want to take it to the Service Center since it's a hundreds of miles away from here. Thanks a bunch!
EDIT: Tried, removing the battery and plugging it again. No luck,
Bump.. Something came across my mind. Do you think it's the rom? because From JellyBean, I downgraded to MiniCM7., Installed the nAa-kernel14 and installed the MiniCM7. I never saw if it was charging by the time I left it. Maybe that's why the battery was drained. Now, I have no luck, I tried different cables and tried charging without the battery, still no indication of life (No red light blinking, etc.) I tried leaving it charging overnight, still nothing.
Any suggestions (without taking it to the Service Center)? Thanks a bunch everybody

I think your battery was drained completely when your mom confiscated it, and it's truly dead by now
Hm, It wasn't I was able to charge ti (Although it tooooook a loong time like 5 hours to get that red light blinking) and was able to switch from ICS to JellyBean to Gingerbread before it was dead. I was able to send a few SMS. Hmm, after that the battery went dead? Is there a way to check if the battery is still alive?

Yeh, it doesn't hold much charge, and it doesn't hold it for long. Replacement batteries can be quite cheap on sites like e-bay or something, but they're tricky to replace. If charging it for that long doesn't get any decent results, i don't hold much hope for you.
Hmm, is it possible to turn on the device if I remove the battery and plug the charger in? I tried that and it doesn't work. Maybe It's a hardware problem or similar. Also, one of the volume buttons just fell off. Im frustrated! > <, Its my only phone, and I'm a student, I can't buy a new one.
Suddenly my phone won't charge. Do I need a new battery?
Here's the details ...
Samsung Galaxy S2 (i9100)
CyanogenMod 10.1 Nightly (10.1-20121229-NIGHTLY-i9100).
I've had it for almost 2 years.
If I leave it plugged in, everything works fine. I can boot it up and use it normally. The lockscreen display and status bar indicate that it's charging, but it stays at 0%. If I unplug the charger, it shuts down right away.
It also seems warmer than it should be while plugged in, but I'm not certain that's part of the problem.
The results are the same whether I use the charger or a USB cable connected to the computer.
There's an immediate reaction when I plug it in or unplug it, so I don't think there's anything wrong with the charger or the port.
I've tried removing and re-inserting the battery with no change. I've also rebooted it several times... it shuts down when I unplug it anyway.
It just happened today, and I haven't installed or updated any software in the last several days. I have auto-updates in the Play store turned off. So it's not a software issue. The ROM was the last thing I updated and that was on the 30th.
I think the battery is really empty because I can't power it on at all if it's not plugged in. So, it's not just that the battery level indicator is wrong.
Hopefully, all I need is to replace the battery, but I was hoping someone here could confirm that or suggest what else might be wrong.
Thank you.
Check contact pins see if they are bent away or have crap on them. If not it sounds like the battery is dead, but I assume you already knew this.
I had already checked all connections and didn't find any damage or other problems. I bought a new battery today and that seems to have solved the problem.
Thank you.

I needed to write because this topic is on top on google results. I've lived the same today. A while ago i had a sudden battery decrease issue. There i was suggested to remove the battery and wait for a while. I tried this today. Removed the battery (simcard and memory card also... i just felt desperate). Waited for a while (i gues it was about half an hour). Plugged to charge. And my battery contiued charging from %61. I just showed wrong level.
This issue is happening to me too=/ but it happened to both my batteries in the space of two weeks
.
hi i have the same problem. i bought a new battery as mine was kaput. then a few days after that i needed a new charger port. now my phone wont turn on manually but when it is on charge it will randomly turn on for 10 seconds with 0% battery and then turn off. i tried doing the reboot with the power, home and vol up button but nothing happens. do i need another new battery?
I don't think it's the battery. I think it has something to do with these custom kernels and ROMs. I've been battling this problem for months with no results.
- I have a new battery, new cable, cleaned pins.
- Tried Lollipop, CM12 with kernel, one or two other kernels.
- Tried various KK ... CM11, Dominanx Kernel, some others too.
None work properly. I love all the updates but it's I just can't pin the problem down on my S2. I'd love to know what else I can do because I think I've exhausted all possibilities. Maybe JB is the only option? I dunno.
Help would be great on this.

Hi,
if you think the problem is custom ROMs then why don't you just go back to stock ROM and try?

I thought it might have been the pcb. I replaced that too but even that didn't completely revive the battery life. Went back and forth between JB and various customs mods to no avail. I ended up selling it for parts locally
Loved that S2 but it was time to walk away from it

I also had the same problem once. What I did was, went to recovery mode and charged for 1 hour and voila,it was charged till 21% only sadly. But by then,it has never rebooted like that!
hey ive also had a similar problem in which my j1 (Samsung Galaxy J1 (2016)) started to randomly shut down or restart around 2 months ago. Then, the battery would start jumping percentages like 100%, to 54%, then 33, back up to 84 in around 10 minutes. Then when I tried to charge it, it would stay at 0% and when Id unplug it, it would say 100% and shut down. Around late last month i ordered a replacement battery, it came in yesterday and worked fine up until a few hours ago. Now when i try to charge it it would stay at 0%.
Solution
1.Turn OFF Phone
2. Pull battery out
wait few sec
3. Connect charger
4. Put battery in
5. Turn Phone ON
Working for me. If not prob replace battery :fingers-crossed:
