Slow GPRS Connection - MDA II, XDA II, 2060 ROM Development

I found out recently (after installing Spb GPRS Monitor) that my GPRS connection is so slow at around 10kbit/s. I have upgraded to ROM 1.60.00wwe and Radio 1.08.00. My operator told me that I may have too many programmes running, but I tried stopping all applications before connecting with no improvement. Please help!!

Passthrough internet connection using activesync ?

Is it possible to setup the XDA so that when its in the cradle it will use my internet connection on my PC ?
On my old SPV which ran the Smartphone 2002 operating system, you could select "Automatic" as the connection type for the internet, so if it was out of the cradle it would use GPRS or WAP or if in the cradle it would use my PC's connection.
I have scouted about in the menus, but can't see anything :?
Cheers
Ok, I just tried it without altering any settings and it just worked
BUT, I have now setup the GPRS settings for Orange, and even when the phone is in the cradle its trying to dial GPRS, any suggestions ??

2003SE 2.20 & GPRS Connection Problems...

Not sure if this problem is specific to me or not. Since upgrading to the standard SE 2.20 (no modofications or updates) I've experienced problems with GPRS.
Most of the time I can connect no problems, and the every now and then my XDA II tries and tries to connect but eventually fails. It's not due to the network strength or location, as I've experienced the problem whilst on a 3 hr drive using TomTom Traffic.
The only way of resolving the problem is either a soft reboot or switching the radio off and on again.
Any ideas, is it worth reflashing the radio back to an older version?

Connecting M1000 to Laptop to use GPRS

Does anybody know how to set up a M1000 to a laptop with BT on it so that it uses the GPRS connection?
Also is it possible to use Activesync over BT?
The only services my laptop can see on the phone are SSA and voicegateway.
I'm using WM2003SE mysterymans orange rom but there was no difference before i upgraded.
Cannot seem to get any widcomm/toshiba stacks to work at all on this.

Problem in WIFI connection after Radio Upgrade!

Hi there!
I'm new to this : since i upgraded to the offical rom by HTC to wm6 and downgraded the radio rom to 1.40.30.00 to be able recieving calls, now the gsm and gprs are working fine but impossible to connect to wifis ...
Is there any relation between the radio rom and wifi ?
thanks for your help!
CJ
Are you able to connect to wifi but unable to use any internet apps (Poket IE) If so you will likely need to go to programs/proxy manager and disable the proxy. If can't actually connect (The wifi tower doesn't show the connection arrows) then I'm not sure... Hope this helps.

Thanks but my pocket IE is working fine, and the wifi tower arrows are in movement but not stopping!
CJ
My 838 had the same problem too after i upgraded to WM6 . Whenever i try to enable the Wifi the arrow spinned and then stopped without any message. But it was impossible to enable it. Any help??
upgrading your radio has nothing to do with wifi connection... Does that wifi connection require a WAP of some sort?
I just found out that by putting off the gsm, the wifi connects with no problem, but impossible with the gsm on !
CJ
I get wifi working with gsm on.

problem with wifi, is it dead ?

I Have JASJAM (Herm100)
When I Turn on, after Soft Reset/shut down, (Even hard reset), when I try to use wifi, here's whats happens:
1) It finds all networks around (status:Available),
2) It tries to connect to network, by asking me for (un)secured connection confirmation... (Status:connecting)
3) From 'connecting' status it becomes to 'Available' (instead of 'connected')*
4) After 2-3 retries of different networks(step2), all networks become 'Unavailable' and It cannot connect to any network anymore. and its not finds any new network until next soft reset.
* sometimes it establish connection and I can surf the net, very slow, but it hold it for less than one minute.
* Signal strength does not a parameter, battery is 100%, and network is set to Best Performance.
* I Have no problems to turn it on/off with the comm-manager.
* I'm not sure when Exactly it happened, but I Suspect that it happened around the time that I've upgrade to 1.54.00.10 radio, but since I've read that it does not affect on Wifi, I suppose it's not related.
Any suggestions ?
I use Schap's 4.30 should I Change to other ?
Thanks
I've found the cause, now searching for fix
I've changed to CRC 9.2 Rom..
(The schaps looks better to me...)
Same symptoms.
After few hours of trying, I've found the cause for this problem...
It happens when the wlan is set to 802.11g or 802.11b/g or 'mixed mode'
It can connect to 802.11b only, with no problems.
That means that I Cannot connect to most wlan I can find.
Please note that the schaps and crc roms already has the 802.11g tweak.
If there is a solution to connect to 802.11g or mixed, please let me know...
I'll search for solution, if I'll find one, I'll post it here.
Exactly the same problem!!!
Hi,
I use Schap's ROM 4.31 and Radio 1.38.00.10
I have at my homenetwork new Belkin N wireless router (working in b/g mode), every device connect without ANY problem, notebook, even another PDA (Asus), but TYTN does not. I tried every possible setting...
I will be REALLY VERY HAPPY if someone find solution...
Otherwise this is the main reason, why I will buy another PDA (Xperia)
