Switching radio light on/off - MDA II, XDA II, 2060 ROM Development

Hi there...
I saw some disputes about impossibilities of subj. Here is my lil prog to fix that, works fine with BTools
BR[CR]

Wow!, thanks for that, i will find it very usefull, that light can be quite bright sometimes

Thanks for a great utility - the blinking lights were driving me and everyone around crazy!
Worked for me - the green light is now off. Is there a way to turn off the blue LED? I am not using Bluetooth Tools, because they don't work with my Jabra 250.
Thanks,
Mike.

complete control??
well since this seem to work as a prpoof of concept...
is it possible to have more control....
as in always on....always off.....or control the frequency of the blinking?

Put it in my programme files, ran it, it restarted the unit but it didn't work... is there somewhere specific it must be put or? thanks

1) write your own driver... which is probably beyond your capability.
2) smash it in with a screwdriver... pretty stupid
3) open the Hermes up and unsolder it... smarter, but voids your warranty.
that my friend is about it.
or... change the registry. Not the precise control you're looking for but this will shut off all LEDs if you're annoyed by your bedroom looking like a UFO landing site at night:
[HKLM\Drivers\BuiltIn\AllLEDMgr]
"Index"=0
Note! Disables vibrating too.
VJImpoto should be a safer alternative to the screwdriver method.
However, AFAIK, on the Hermes disabling the driver is not permanent, it has a habit of re-enabling itself from time to time.
There are other solutions though, but at least for me, I haven't had the time to re-write VJImpoto to address this caveat.
Also try VJPlumBum for a brief orgasmic spasm.

Hey Sleuth,
On my way the vibrating function still works.
I just place it face down so you won’t be disturbed by aliens.

Annoying LED? Turn it off

Sometimes at night and in the dark room the LED is for me a bit annoying. I was really suprised that application DontForget (freeware) can disable the LED (plus it remind you unread messages etc so you wont miss anything).
use This programm^
Also, look for a program called, Don'tForget version 2, on the internet.
Bluetooth led?
Hi.. DontForget works like a charm Thanks...
Is it also possible to turn off the blue led that indikate that bluetooth is on??
MicTh
No...at least with dont forget. I asked the developer that question and he said that the bt lite is hardwired into the device and is not something that he can readily control with his program.

Light

Hi, our heros must have a light meter of some sort in them because of the auto backlight feature. But tricorder shows no data for light and the android sdk looks like it hasn't been implemented yet.
How can I get access to the data from the sensor?
Thanks
Anyone? Tried a simple app that registers a sensor listener for SENSOR_LIGHT but it never outputs anything!
It does indeed have a light meter.
This is the little LED looking thing on the LEFT of the phone at the top.
Directly opposite the actual LED.
If you cover this over when having selected auto backlight, you will notice the screen brightness change.
Thanks for the response, good to know where it is! Still having no luck accessing it through code! Downloaded the hero kernal to have a look in there but don't know where to look!
Really frustrating as there must be a way of using the hardware!!

Softbuttons vibrate is weak when the lights are off

Recently, when my phone is exposed to brightness, and the softkey light goes off, the vibrate on the softkeys become very weak. When my phone is in darker places, and the lights go on, the vibrate is solid and good.
I haven't made any changes on my phone that I can think of could cause this. I'm running 2.3.6 rooted. Only changes I've made are some CPU tweaks and overclock.
I found a similar thread about this problem on the Motorola forums, but no good answer. They thought it was a powersaving feature, but this is an issue that only happens for some.
Is there any tweak to always enable the lights when screen is on? That'd be better for me.
Bump!
Am I really alone about this? Id love a tweak that enables the lights all the time.
Thanks in advance
There is an app in Play Store called Lux. I believe it will let you have the buttons lit all the time. I find my Razr Maxx has weak vibration. I don't use the soft key or keyboard vibration but the notifications are weak.
Thanks for your reply. Unfortunately that didn't work, the app didn't have any feature to control the lights of the buttons.
Just to clarify thoygh, I'm talking about the 4 buttons on the bottom of the phone. I'm not sure anymore if these are the soft keys.
Anyone know another workaround? Thanks in advance.
i use screendim and theres an option in there to make the backlights to stay on all the time.
Sent from my DROID RAZR using xda premium
Screendim did the trick for me, however the buttons will now stay lit even when screen is off, which is a battery drainer. I'll just have to live with this, it's not that big of an issue I guess...
Thanks for your replies guys

LIghtflow work for you? Non-Rooted? (Resolved)

I seem unable to get Lightflow working. Anyone having success? (I'm not rooted).
If so, can you share what all you had to do to get it going?
I use light manager, and it works as promised, I am also not rooted. (SD). I haven't tried light flow, but I can confirm light manager works with most of the colors

Hmmmmm.....must be some setting problem. Just tried Light Manager, and it doesn't work for me either

I'm using Lightflow and it's working as usual for me. Didn't have to do anything special to make it work.
Thanks for the input guys.
Turns out that me LED indicator setting under was turned off. I believe i dud that SetdudLdudevice on initial setup, thinking i was turning off charging LEDs, and that LF had its own control.
I'm good to go now, and feeling a bit embarrassed ...
Anyone else having problems with the LED being shut off after notifications are dismissed? I have all my Light Flow notifications set to stop after I clear the notification from the notification bar. But it's not working. I'll try contacted the developer.
Weird, not had that one.
But I have noticed several problems with Lightflow. I have contacted the developer, but no respose as of yet.
With Lightflow, things I've noticed is:
1) When added a new Notification, if you test it, the LED colour does not match the one you've selected. But it'll still work for the notification.
2) Colours in the Cyan range don't seem to be replicated corretly - but I don't think that's to do with lightflow. One my phone (SM-910F in black) there's a fine, wire mesh kind of pattern over the surface of the phone, which covers the LED. Seems to distort what colour comes out.
If I look really closely, I can see a hint of the correct colour if that makes sense. Not sure how a developer could sort that out, as the program is probably working correctly.
Pretty much Sea Green, turqoise, teal, light green all seem to come out as Light blue. Even using the hex manually still results in this. Same with Light manager too. Really really annoying!
Of course it could just me my old eyes playing tricks one me!
3) Sleep mode doesn't quite work properly. If you set it to disable vribrate only, and leave everything else on, it disables everything, not just vibrate. A small issue, but hey, I'd like to use the feature.
Apart from that, it works perfectly. So nice not to have to switch on accesability to get it to work
