so whats the easiest way to replace the lcd?
Hey all,
The Gorilla Glass on my Streak cracked but the lcd underneath still works. I have a old Streak lcd where the lcd is broken but the glass is fine. Does anyone know if I can remove the glass from the old broken lcd and replace the cracked glass on the working LCD?
Does it have to glued down, will the digitized get frazzled if I try to take the glass off?

You cannot separate the glass from the LCD. The glue used to put the two together is too strong to do that without damaging both digitizer and LCD.
yeah... it really takes skill to replace it though you need guts to do it...

well i've tried and broke the lcd but it was already damaged anyway heheh
Like the title says I cracked the screen on my g2 and I want to know if I can just replace the digitizer or do I have to buy both the LCD and digitizer. Also is Samsung good at repairs and will they just repair it or give me a new phone?

go on eBay they go for cheap and they come with a tool kit so its easy for you to do it your self I'm sure Samsung would charge u a lot more then What the phone is worth

Super glue. **** fixes everything!
OK good I was just making sure I could replace just the glass because so many other places say you have to do both the lcd and digitizer and Samsung charges 149 for that repair.

Is it nearly impossible to change just the glass because the digitizer and LCD and glued shut together. If you attempt to change the class, you will easily damage the LCD. I would try to find a broken phone on craiglist or eBay and use it for parts.

I tried to replace just the top glass on an Infuse.......didn't work but changing the LCD/digitizer assembly was easy.

Where can I get a screen assembly for low cost? I have a maxx sitting in my drawer that I wana fix for my GF, does anyone know a cheap place for a replacement (not just the grass I need the LCD too) or maybe since the screens are sealed, would a water damaged phone work?

Hi!I'm from Romania too.Unfortanely,here in Cluj I don't know any repair centres.Two months ago,my loudspeaker stopped working,and I got a new one from eBay.I changed it myself.It is original,and it's working well.The price was good too,8$(~25 lei).So I recommend you to grab a new screen from eBay.
