Cleartype tuner - MDA II, XDA II, 2060 ROM Development

I was trying to find the solution for broken CT settings and came across this software
http://www.freewareppc.com/utilities/tunecleartype.shtml
Unfortunately, it doesn't work wih XDA2. But idea is right there. I've contacted developer and asked him about future versions.

How do you know it doesn't work?
Have you tried it?
A lot of stuff said to be PPC 2002 will still work.
But I can't even try it, as the link to the download, and even to the author website, seem down for me. (That is the link on THAT page, not the link here in your post!)

OK - I managed to find it elsewhere.
AND, I find that it DOES run on an XDA2. BUT... it doesn't seem to do much.
I'm wondering however, if this is because I already have decent Cleartype.
Can someone using one of the poor forms of CT, like the recent I-mate or T-Mobile versions try the attached file out, and see if it makes any difference.
You copy to phone, then run cab file on phone.
Then, go into Programs, and there will be a new entry "Tune Cleartype"
Run it and it will present two simple choices - "CT enabled/disabled", and type to use as ""Original/Alternative" (this can only be selected if option one is set to enabled of course).
Can someone with a poor version of CT try it, test EACH setting followed by an OK and a re-boot, and see if this does anything at all?
Cheers.
Zip attached.

Hi Shadamehr,
The "Use of ClearType" option doesn't enable ClearType, you still have to enable it in Screen settings.
Sadly, the Original/Alternative option doesn't seem to make any difference at all.
Particularly bad is White on Blue (i.e default scheme start menu, or text where the highlight is over it (i.e. lists).
Good idea though,
Phil

Damn.
Shame.
Cheers Phil.
But, by the way, you know the other thread where you post this message (I think), well there is a post in there by someone to say that the CUSTOMISATION ROM for the i-mate 1.72 upgrade, the special extra ROM... He says it FIXED his Cleartype.
You might want to read it and try it just in case...

Hi Shadamehr,
I'm running the imate 1.72 with the additional "special" extended ROM (1.72.800) from the ...SKU1.EXE file from clubimate.
I'm assuming that's what you meant?

It's confusing, this multiple thread stuff *lol*
If you mean in relation to the ROM add on that allegedly fixes Ceartype in the I-Mate latest build, then 'pass mate' - it wasn't me that posted the thread saying it fixed it, it was someone else - I was merely drawing attention to it, and asking the author to be specific as to EXACTLY which ROM or file fixed Cleartype for him.
Unless you were the poster that mentioned it, but I don't think so.

It's true, cleartype actually does show a good improvement after installing the English extended rom addition from clubimate. Not tremendoes, but at least bearable
There's still the strange coloration in white letters, but the blue shadows in black letters has gone. Cleartype still looks like having been shot at with hail bullets ...

Actually, I think Wiz is correct, it does look "better", just not "good" in the lastest ROM (but I'm not sure if it's main or "special" extended ROM that does it).
Phil

Yep, with this extra external ROM they DO look better, not perfect but better that without extra ROM. That just confirms that problem lies in software algorithm.

The patch is easy to find i believe its under the wiki.
But the swe version is the fastest, it is still missing some components yes it has wpa2, but no mms and some other apps are missing as well
...and the language patch doesn't patch everything and still leaves quite a lot of Swedish hanging around. It is enough to make the phone useable to a non-Swedish speaker though.

huh??? I patched the English cab and almost everything in English. In fact the only visible Swedish is my voicemailname and an entry in my setting (and maybe a word here and there...), the rest is complete English...
I'm using the SVE rom...
I tried the new Test rom for HTC... I tried the new leaked Cingular Rom... and I decided to go with the Swedish rom patched to english.
The Test Rom for some reason wouldn't let my phone go into sleep mode... so it would drain my battery real fast... that and the device got physically warmer than it usually did... I didn't like that at all.
The Cingular rom seemed alright... but it was lacking WPA2 which isn't very nice... and seemed a bit more bloated... especially with that little startup video... I think subconciously 80% of why I changed it was because of that.
With the SVE rom:
It's true that you can't edit the MMS settings... but the application appears to be there... maybe you can import the settings via registry. I don't really use MMS all that much, but I'm assuming you could get it to work that way.
I also copied all the short cuts from the swedish start menu in the windows folder over to the english Start Menu to get Internet Sharing, Streaming Media and MIDlet Manager.
This one seems pretty stable to me so far and does seem faster. Not sure on battery drain as of yet, but seems to be holding well.
The only issues I've noticed so far... there seems to be a slight delay in the sounds as I click around... seems like the sounds are always playing catch up. Also... when i get a new email... the subject line isn't bolded like the old one... so it's a little harder to see where the new emails end and the read emails begin. But that's a small annoyance.
TCPMP player seems to work much better as well... I did a quick benchmark of a 320 x 240 divx about 180bit rate... and got 299% using the ATI driver. There is no screen tearing when paused... so I like that.
I'm using radio 1.21 here in California... and it seems a lot more stable than 1.27 as well...
Hope this information is helpful to someone...

I have figured a way to fix the mms settings, I took the mms files from the windows folder off of the english version and put them on the SWE version. I am not sure which file specifically does it, but I know that I wasn't asked if I wanted to overwrite any files so I assume its all of them that are missing.
If anyone wants this I can zip the files and put on the ftp

Known Issues with new Cingular ROM (2.06.502.3)

Not to be redundant with other threads, but to compile in one place, maybe we can list in this thread the known issues in the new Cingular ROM, with links to the other threads where solutions/ideas are being discussed. Some of those which come to mind are the following:
Goodlink Integration with Dialer not Working
PIE Proxy Issues (and related VPN troubles)
SD Card Not Reading Correctly
Disappearance of SmartDialer ... which should be fixable with the cab file located here.
Additionally, know helpful registry tweaks are being (and should be) compiled here
And finally, some helpful fixes/mods:
PTT Fix - to take back control over the PTT button (especially useful if you don't plan to use PTT)
BandSwitch - to manage your connections (and thereby increase battery life)
Well, this is just a start.
What are the SD problems? I haven't run into anything yet...
Check the link I provided on the first post.. many folks (myself included) have intermittent problems where the directories on the card are no longer visible (until after a soft reset and/or removal and re-insertion of the card).
Bummer. I hope that doesn't hapen to me. But if this XDA-Lives ROM is released, hopefully I won't be using Cingular's (AT&T's) 2.06 ROM much longer!
Some, including myself, have lost SmartDialer.
I'm trying to find a solution.

Yeah, I have this problem too. Luckily I've been using the E-Ten Dialer, so I'm not used to the Smart Dialer. But it'd be nice if I had it available, since I'm not using E-Ten anymore.
A lot of people use PTTfix. Might want to put a shortcut to sleuth's thread, as his latest release apparently fixes the issues with it. (I'll post it if I happen to stumble across it in my journies of trying to catch up with the latest posts.)
EDIT: Here's the thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=279585

Yes, but is that really an issue or a feature? I am sure Cingular would consider it a feature, but everyone knows it's total crap.
Smart Dialer coment:
Some are having issues with new ROM and no smart dialer. I had no problems, but I also know that installing ETen Big Button Dialer (available at 8525software.com) disables Smart Dialer. So I tested it. Install ETen and as supposed too, no smart dial. Then I unistall ETen and the smart dial is back working ok. Also in the phone screen the right soft key has an option for the Smart Dialer, make sure it is turned on.
Now if anyone can get ETEN to work WITH smartdial, that would be cool.
I could not get E-Ten to work with SmartDial, though purportedly you can... see link here for discussion on this issue.
If you do get it working, an easy step-by-step would be appreciated!

Scott’s VZW ROM - Working VZ Navigator (eRice kitchen v1.03.7) - OUTDATED!

Scott’s VZW ROM - Working VZ Navigator (eRice kitchen v1.03.7) - Rev 1 out!
UPDATE 19 DEC 2008 @ 18:00 Central Time. New ROM is out. Consider this thread discontinued. Files will be on the website for historical purposes. I would recomend upgrading to my latest ROM here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=461524
UPDATED 12 Dec 2008 @ 19:00 Central Time
** You will need to dial *22899 after you flash to reprogram. Do this before anything else.
** Other model phones from other carriers will loose custom EPST settings per NexVision's testing.
REVISION 1 Changes at the end of this modified original post
This ROM IS FOR VZW USERS ONLY!
Greetings fellow VZW users. My first creation for us is Custom a ROM based off of eRice’s kitchen in this thread: http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=46965.
ROM Info:
**The ROM I created is nearly identical to the “STOCK” ROM with a couple minor additions and an upgrade to the core CE OS files to version 5.2.20931. I pulled all the apps and drivers from the leaked VZW ROM in this into the eRice kitchen from this post: http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=42741
**I stripped out the Sprint drivers and applications from the eRice kitchen and added the VZW drivers and Apps from the VZW leaked ROM. It was fairly seamless to do. I tested VZ Nav and it worked great!
** This ROM is considerably more smooth than the stock ROM and more responsive in most applications including Touch Flow. No, it doesn’t fix our missing memory problem but I dont think you will notice it as much now. What makes it great is it is based on the 20931 CE OS but retains the 100% stock look via proper drivers and applications.
**VZ Navigator runs well on this ROM!
As far as I know this is the first “Custom” ROM with any sort of GPS for the XV6850.
**********************
*Revision One Changes*
**********************
Added N2A Weather Patch to Autoinstall. INcludes most US cities and patched weather server.
Added Diamond TF3D Config to Autoinstall (Runs with no errors)
Added Nue Fonts with a few extra fonts than what the OEM normally has. They look great on this screen!
Added Advanced Config 3.3
Added Turn off SMS Sent Notification - cabbed by "mixtapeking1900"
Added DotNET CF 2.0 along side DotNet 3.5. DotNet 2.0 installs first then ver 3.5 via Autoinstall (CONFIG.TXT in extended package OEM for the kitchen users.) I bieleve either could be removed but not truly sure. DotNet 3.5 was needed for Advanced Config.*Note - Selecting dotNet 3.5 in the KITCHEN will cause problems! Dont do it unless you proplery modify config.txt to not load them in the AutoRUN.
Removed IE 6.1 (Breaks My Button Setup!)
Removed JetPrint Bluetooth printing (whatever it is called, not sure)
Fixed My Button Settings not launching from the Settings Tab in Manila
Fixed Voice Command> I added it back in. Go to "Settings -> Voice Command" to turn it on before it will RUN!
Kept HTC YouTube
Kept HTC Network Plug in
Kept Internet Sharing
*All Three of these are from the eRice Kitchen. Big thanks to eRice for all 3!
No other installed programs than those listed and the VZW OEM apps.
The ROM is now pretty close to Stock which was the goal. This should be the last revision unless someone finds a major bug.
AS always, please report bugs and any thing you like as well.
Files located at www.scottcrosler.com
Mad Thanks go out to eRice, Commenex and ImCoKeMan for making this possible! Without them none of this would exist!
UPDATED 12 Dec 2008 @ 19:00 Central Time
Basic Installtion Instructions
Download ROM and extract to desktopp (Now includes RUU). Start the ROM Upgrade Utility and follow instructions Flashes just like ANY other phone or ROM. Flashing will destroy ALL data on phone. Always sync with ActiveSync before starting the upgrade utility OR place your phone in bootloader mode (Power, VolDown, and reset)
A call to *228 or *22899 (automated activation line) WILL BE REQUIRED for normal usage! This is true of ALL ROM's and even a simple hard reset of the Verizon stock ROM.
Before you flash you MUST be unlocked. I do not support the unlock process or the software but I can tell if you that if you follow the instructions at the link it works perfect.
Link to unlocker is here: http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=42503
Link to ROM and RUU is here: http://www.scottcrosler.com/
Bugs so far:
Wiped Clean on new revision
**Here is where you will see gains with this ROM over stock...
1. Navigating through menu's, especially the settings menu.
2. Smoothness of TF3D (debateable depending on the tabs.) First time will be slow for EVERY device if you leave ALL the tabs enabled. Each tab is a like a sep app that has to load when you select it. After the tabs are loaded you will see even more gains over the stock ROM.
3. File explorer. Go to the Windows folder. No further explanation needed there, trust me. The stock file explorer took nearly 15 seconds to load Windows. This does it almost instantly.
Updated Kitchen Files!
This is for the eRICE KITCHEN. This is not my own Kitchen but an add on of VZW OEM files to the eRice kitchen.
Its the OEM pack that I used to create this ROM. Its what I stripped out of the VZW leaked ROM. I added just a couple OEMs that are not in the cooked ROM. I dont have the original OEM's broken out! IF anyone wants to break it down further like eRice did with his original kitchen let me know and I will host it on my site.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR KITCHEN SET UP:
Download and extract (to desktop) eRice 1.03.07 kitchen from here:
http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=42796
Delete the entire OEM folder from inside the kitchen!
Download and extract the VZW OEM folder from www.scottcrosler.com and place it in the eRice kitchen as to replace the one you just delted. I made one minor change to the pure VZW OEM folders.I dropped the phonecanvas XML provisioning file into OEM apps. i think it supposed to be in SYS but I dont know.... It works fine the way it is. If you have never heard of the file then ignore this part of the post.
Start RaphealKitchen.CMD and follow instructions.
***Do not select DotNET 3.5 in the kitchen!!!. It is enabled by default, delelect it. Will cause issues.
I will try to support the kitchen as much as possible. Please do not bother eRice with this hybrid kitchen as I am sure he will not support my hybrid creation.
Thank eRice for this kitchen.
Thank the original poster of this thread for the leaked ROM I worked with:
http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=42741. Not sure who posted it.
Thank me for putting it together!
I AM NOT TAKING CREDIT FOR ANY OF THE FILES. I do however take credit for converting to VZW OEM.
Should there be a link to your ROM here?
Are there instructions on how to flash?
Like putting phone into bootloader mode or anything else necessary?
Does the unlock process wipe the phone or does only the ROM update wipe?
Anyone tried this yet? Any reviews?
It's a lot of work to reinstall everything and to re-apply my special settings, even though I've been documenting what I've done.
Also, I was thinking of trying that Telus radio. Can I still try that on this? Does a radio update/change wipe the device clean or that's non-destructive?

I updated the second post with the steps you need. Sorry was trying not to get flamed on my thread. Someone over at PPCGeeks flamed me for pretty much no reason other than the fact that they could. It only stopped me from releasing my ROM over there. Oh well. There loss. Too bad because there are some really good people over there. The eRice kitchen was perfect in every aspect of a ktichen. I was never so impressed. Impressed enouhg to download the leaked ROM and portover the VZW software ;c) Its a nice change over the stock CE OS. If you flash let me knwo what you think.
Hi Scott,
I've been lurking on both forums since I got my Titan last December. I have learned much from everyone here and over at PPCG: these are the best resources by far for those of us into our phones and the tech behind it.
I agree that you were treated less than "professionally" over at PPCG, and hope that you will continue to work on the VZW TP/XV6850. Thanks for this great use of Eric's kitchen tools and stock ROM, along with your knowledge on how to get them all working for us! My take from the eRice thread is that he has no issue whatsoever with you using his stuff, and in fact he welcomes it for us VZW stepchildren... hehe.
This ROM does indeed kick arse, and hopefully GC and others will figure out the PRI lockdown and we will all have an amazing little machine to play with: it is w/o a doubt a much slicker device than the Titan, and I dug that little unit for the better part of a year
Cheers Pal

They will figure out the PRI crap. It will take time. I wish skywing would port over his adapter program. I could incormporate that and we would have 100% GPS just like everyone else. He stated in his thread he was not interested in doing so. Thats a huge loss for us that we never even had ;c(
For the record!
For the record:
I have always asked permission before I redistribute any item found here. I asked DCD for his kitchen when I posted my R4R ROM for the Titan's.
I asked eRice specifically if I could port his stuff over for VZW users. His response was:
"if you can get the sprint carrier files split from the rom/kitchen and include the vzw ones, more power to you. that's what this forum is about. sharing ideas and results and improving on them for the benefit of everyone."
Its posted here. Just for the record ;c)

A few people have tried on PPCGeeks with great success as posted above.
Keep it coming. Two things to note. And YES I Just installed this ROM.
First, I had to *228 (not surprised but it is required to get data connections to work. This has been true for every ROM i've played with as well as custom ROM's i've built in the kitchen.)
Second, Comm Manager is missing from the slider menu with TF3D enabled. (Although still accessible via the keyboard shortcut.)
I will play some more and let you know what else I find. Thanks.

The comm manager TAB or the comm manager link in the settings Tab? Its just fine for me. There is no Comm manager TAB in VZW version of TF3D.
I see you use the PPC Kitchen. That does have the Comm Manager Tab and you are used to that. This version is stragiht ripped from the ROM. No changes AT ALL. The stock phone doesnt have COmm manager Tab.
How about responsiveness?
Launching VZ Nav opened Opera and downloaded the CAB. CAB launched got to privacy screen but complained about not being able to save privacy settings. Only option is to lick OK. You are then brough tto the "default" VZ NAV error screen telling you there was a problem with your GPS device. I do have the CAB for VZ NAV now however.
Re-Launching VZ NAV produces the same result. Unable to save privacy and crashes out.
My mistake. You're right. I've gone through so many ROM's that it's a blur. The "Communications" link is still under the "Settings" tab in TF3D as it should be.
So far responsiveness is good. I have not configured the settings for my "regular" business use however.
Perhaps the reason VZ NAV will not install is because it's the official signed version?

No, It always crashes twice at the initial set up, even on the Stock ROM. Its a crappy program I know! Try it a third time and you are good from then on. If not let me know and I will upload the Cab that I have. Nothing special about it though.
EDIT: I relfashed my phone, installed and it worked for me. It still does the three times to load problem. Two GPS errors for me. Then the third time it starts. THis is the EXACT behavior of the stock ROM.
bkurek,
How do you "go through so many roms"? Isn't it an hour or more to reinstall all of your apps and personal settings or is there some easier way that I'm missing?
I can't restore with SPB Backup, right?
Would you say this rom is noticeably faster?

I go through them because I enjoy doing so and I'm looking for what *I* want. Yes it can be that long but I don't go through all the motions until I've found the right combination/foundation to build on. I did not for instance configure ALL of my email accounts or setup active synch in vista, etc etc
Yes it does feel very snappy but just like anything else you'll find it to be faster today and go back to *****ing about how slow it is tomorrow. It's a matter of perception in the end. You'll always want more. I'm actually more interested in a stable build than a faster one because I already know it'll never be as fast as I want it to be. I have experienced a myriad of stability issues that if I don't find a remedy for I will return this phone. They manifest mostly in the messaging components at this time. I have not had to soft reset a phone this much since 1990-something. Speaking of which, as a completely uninteresting side note, I have not posted to a forum since early 1990-something but the point is that I do like this device and would like to see it improved upon is why I am taking the time to post now. It’s a cool phone. Give it some time. Someone, somewhere will make it faster and more stable. I think.

I relfashed my phone, installed and it worked for me. It still does the three times to load problem. Two errors that you just click though then the third time it starts. THis is the EXACT behavior of the stock ROM. It crashes twice on the Stock ROM as well.
Also did you install to storage card or main memory? I only install to main memory.

Interesting. My stock did not have this problem but it came pre-loaded with VZ NAV. Third time is the charm.
Program files and things I don't want to lose always go to main for me.

[16-06-2009] Max's Neon ROM Test (WM6.5 Build 21500)

Massive thanks to jerpelea (wouldn't have gotten anywhere close without him).
I'm back! This new version is based on the fantastic Insomnia NIKI Kitchen, using WM6.5 Build 21500 and OEM Iolite/mishmash. As I made this version for my personal use, it is FULL of applications - if you don't like applications installed from the start, don't download it!
Warning: This ROM is for testing only and has been prepared by a complete cooking noob (me). I cannot guarantee any results for you or your phone and this may end up screwing things up COMPLETELY . Install at your own risk.
Having said that, it works very well on my NEON200 (Touch Dual 850), much better than any other ROM I have tried and even better than the old 6.1 version.
Make sure you have installed the Neon Hardspl (thanks Olipro) before you even remotely consider installing this.
Known Issues:
- DEVICE ID Reports as NIKI100 (I am still trying to figure out the XIP stuff)
- The camera hardware button does not work
- The camera autofocus doesn't work properly (messed up the some of the files I copied I think) so it takes a few seconds to shoot.
- Hardware keyboard doesn't work properly. It thinks that it is a 16key version.
Anyway, give it a go if you are game and let me know how it goes. It is a hundred times more finger friendly than the WM6.1 ROMs (which is the whole point of the touch phones).
I only do this in my *very* spare time, so I'm sorry in advance if I don't update often. I can say that I am very happy with the ROM as it is (never use the keyboard or camera), so it may be quite while before I update.
Download the new WM6.5 ROM here.
Old version (WM6.1 Build 21109) can be downloaded here if you want it for some reason.
Well done, looks nice. Everything works. Camera is good, text works, after calling t-mobile internet connects. Reception is fine, battery does not get hot. Although, instead of having a box with an x in the middle of it at far right corner, i have just an x. It takes a little more effort closing out of an application. Good job again.

Great stuff.
Are you having any other issues? Does the keyboard work 100%?

I was just about to edit my post Keyboard does not work at any time. Also when recieving a voicemail, i tap and trys to connect. But says that phone call cannot be made at this time.
I've had no issues with voicemail...
Have you tried installing the latest Ezinput from the first post? Do you have 20-key device?
Perhapsthe Voicemailis something i need to set up with T-mobile.Yep, got the touch keyboard working with the install No keypad though.
Edit: Yes, camera button does not work.
I'm gonna load it up now and give it a shot.
I can't find the SIP task in task manager to kill it before installing the .cab.
Also can't get online because it is configured for Telestra (I imagine I can fix that easily). The "Setup Connection" app in settings closes immediately. That is how I used to setup my internet/phone provider stuffs.
Edits.
Ok...oddly enough after I updated my internet settings the 'task manager' and a few other apps showed up. That allowed me to kill the SIP and load the keyboard.
Overall this ROM is fast! Very happy with it so far. Can't wait till it is finished.
PS - I can't use my hardware keyboard either. Even with the SIP update. On screen works perfect.
I have NEON300 US version. If I decide to upgrade, can I reset back to factor default? Or is once upgrade, no turning back? I have Build 19209.1.0.2 version now on my phone.

I haven't found a packaged default ROM. You might wanna see if he releases one once he gets this build worked out. I would love to get a copy of your default rom before you upgrade it. I think I lost mine 2 laptops ago. Once you load the HardSPL you can go back, however you need the default ROM to do so. There isn't a backup / restore utility as far as I know.

Let me know if you need help with this.
Voice Mail (T-Mobile)
I havn't been able to figure out how to change the voicemail number from the Telestra default, but if you dial "123" with a T-Mobile sim card, it will send you to your voicemail account. Just a little tip I thought might help.

Interesting, I didn't know that. I thought it was just an issue I had to call t-mobile about. Thanks
SMS
I have een having issues with SMS. When I try to send a text, I get an error message saying that my message can not be sent, that I need to subscribe to the service. I flashed back to Seths V2 rom and every thing worked fine. Any ideas?
BTW, don't know if any one needs it, but here is a cab that works great for reconfiguring internet stuff for T-Mobile or AT&T
I Just found this link. Says it is for the Neon 200 US, but my device still says 300. Any how, looks exactly like the Ship Rom as I remember it.

You can change it by editing:
1) Modelname.txt in OEM/OperatorPkg
2) nbhgen.txt in Tools/Htools
I've Changed nbhgen.txt to NEON200 and a different version number, but when I flash it still says NIKI100 and the old version number. I have also changed the CID in OS.nb.payload, still no luck.

Change the name in modelname.txt in oem/operatorpkg
Also change mixupdate_oemversion_100.provxml in same folder.
os.nb.payload content will get overwritten when the ROM is built.
Thanks for mixupdate_oemversion_100.provxml - that has the version info in it (also edited easily via registry). It was missing from my kitchen.
modelname.txt simply has "Touch Dual" (which is OK) in it. That file doesn't let me change NIKI100 to NEON200.
If you check my .nbh in a hex editor it displays "NEON200", yet upon flashing it still displays the device as NIKI100...

Annoying bugs and more...

Dear XDA´ers,
Just got my hands on a HD2. Very pretty, nicely big. But some irritating flaws... wondering if you gurus could help me here. Please understand that I am a noob and have already searched the forum before. So please be gentle with me .
All versions below are stock ones:
ROM: 1.66.707.1 (76641) WWE (01/12/10) - Origin: I don´t have a clue (probably Asian, because of the keyboard options, but can´t locate the specific region)
RADIO: 2.07.51.22_2
OS Version: 5.2.21869 (21869.5.0.82)
Manila version: 2.5.19211619.0
1) Buggy SMS/MMS system. I can receive MMS, but cannot read them. They appear at the initial screen, but when I click over them to go to the "threaded view" it simply disappear... so it is marked forever as "not read" (bold lines). They also appear at the "All messages" option, but again, when I click over them, I get a blank threaded view.
2) Calendar and Appointments: how the heck can I schedule an appointment if I cannot choose the AM/PM option? The respective field is blank... is it possible to reinstall or replace this piece of code only (not the entire ROM) if I want to?
3) How can I get a portuguese T9?
4) How could a $600 gadget doesn´t let you choose a snoozing time interval? Am I stuck to the 5-min original interval? I know there are some programs that let you change it, but I´d like to stick to the Sense interface... know it sounds silly, but I got used to my old mobile where I could change those parameters.
5) Is there any "Tunewiki"-like software for HD2? I used it a lot at my old iTouch and I´d like to keep the lyrics synchronized to the music...
Thank you in advance for any help about the questions above.
First off the Stock ROMs tend to suck ...
1.) Do not and did not have this issue with my TMOUS HD2, not sure why it happened to you ..
2.) Sure it is not a 24 hour clock, mine is ...
3.) No clue ....
4.) G-Alarm is a nice replacement for the stock alarm, the stock one sucks ...
5.) There are a couple of apps like this for the HD2 Search around, I don't have links but I have seen them ....
You may consider looking into a custom ROM ....
Hi watcher64,
Thank you for your reply.
2) If it´s has a 24h clock option, I really couldn´t find where I should change that. But even so, the screen wouldn´t appear like the picture below, don´t you agree? AM/PM is missing here... ("red question marks" are mine )
5) Believe me, I did. None synchronizes the lyrics to the music (I mean phrase-by-phrase while music is playing...), that´s why I came here.
Regards!

2.) Start Menu>Settings>System>Regional Settings>Time, Select HH:mm:ss .
This is also where you set your AM/PM options, maybe it got screwed up ...
5.) Look at this ... http://www.xda-developers.com/windows-mobile/lyrics-for-almost-all-songs-in-s2p/
Hope it at least helps ...

I'd advise installing BsBTweaks (on this forum) as a matter of course anyway, but there is an option to enable this feature in the program.
"Enable dismiss X time in notifications" is the one you need.

Hi watcher64,
2) My working path is different (probably because ROM version), but unfortunately, the AM/PM option is disabled (gray). I *will* consider upgrading the stock ROM. But there will be lots and lots of pages to read before that.
5) Nice try, but still not what I need. Check the S2P thread post #11 (can´t post links here), it doesn´t have autoscroll (like Tunewiki). That´s what I meant for "synchronized lyrics", maybe I was not clear enough, sorry. I´ll keep looking, anyway. Thx.

I´ll give it a try, thx. I would rather stick to Sense interface, but looks like it´s impossible. Too bad HTC did a nice interface mixed to such poor software...
I would suggest, being a portuguese HTC HD2 user, to try out the artemis roms. It has full translation to PTG and includes a portuguese T9. Try it out, i'm using it as of now and have found it quite an improvement over the stock rom.

Hi ei05035,
Actually there's no problem about using Hd2 with english version, but I miss a t9 library to help me out with faster typing during email/sms messages. So I'm wondering if I could keep the english O/S and replace some kinda T9 "language" library, if you know what I mean.
About the Artemis ROM, thanks for the tip, but I'm starting the loooong journey of learning about flashing a ROM and not turn your device into a paperweight. Even longer for a noob like me...
Cheers!
