May someone please help me?
This morning I tried to turn on my device (at night I turn the radio off) but it was dead, no way to wake it up... So I put it on charge in the craddle but all that changed was a fix red light on the left.
I tried to remove the battery bat it didnt have any effect.
I tried to hard reset, but nothing.
This is the end of a horrible week, in fact I've had also had huge problems with battery duration, device hot burning and loosing all charge in two hours, so yesterday I had to hard reset and restore all data with Sprite Backup. Everything seemed to work fine until this morning.
I have to say that the last application I installed before having all these troubles was SpriteBackup! Might it be the point?
Please help me.
Wow, after removing battery once, twice... testing, charging-recharging the device woke up.
the battery is 0% and now charging, but I'm afraid the problem might come back.
I read some threads about issues in restoring data (also causing several hard resets): does it happen only with windows backup application or even with spritebackup? It should be a chance, but it's after installing spritebackup that my device (before working fine) started having charge issues and hard boiling temperatures (as it it was hard working in background all the time).
thanks to all who will help me understand solve these doubts.
Now it's charging but the divice is very hot... I never noticed it before :?:

Well, went to a PDA shop this morning and got a feedback that there are few cases of hard reset problems.
I know i have them.....
1 tip... don't charge you XDAII overnight.
I really dunno the theory behind it but just
Try it and feedback
I don't agree. Since I bought my xda2 in Nov till now, it's on charger every night w/o fail.
I also disagree, i recharge over night, from 9 PM to 6 AM. never reset
Take off wisbar or any other application that tends to hang, and keep your startup to a minimum to avoid hard resets.
i also charge overnight not had one hard reset yet
Err...i actually meant this topic for those with those are facing hard reset problem every now and then....
If you dun face them then cheers...but if you do face this problem.....no harm trying.
My XDAII hard reset itself twice in three days. Day 1 it was fully loaded with softwares, but it suddenly hard reset at abt 5:30pm, I didn't load any software after that (all factory default) and it did the same thing on the third day at abt the same time.
I know its hard to think abt anything relevent regarding this tip...well, those with hard resets problem should try it out. If it doesn't work out, well, what can i say and what you gotta loose?
Hi azbro, I'm with you on this one, if you are unlucky to experience frequent hard resets, it is worth checking out all options, to try and get to the root cause, there are so many different supposed reasons, battery, radio, software conflicts and so on, maybe these devices are not all the same, and the cause for hard reset could be different for each of us.
Hard Resets
I believe unwanted hard resets have a lot to do with the battery.
AFAIK softwares do also contribute sometimes but mainly due to overloading of memory causing leaks thus unrecoverable by operating systems.
Back to the battery.
Based on lots of owners complaints the Xda I/II battery has a nack of self-draining its own power. Suspect the contacts of the charger seems to cross when not inserted straight-down properly. Sometimes the battery doesn't get charged at all.

Battery charging...
Hi!
Here is my piece of experience.
I had hard-reset problem when I was using standard Power plug & AC Adapter. But when I migrated to charge my device via USB & Cradle, the problem disappeared!
Maybe it happened because of our high voltage lines (220V). And one more, every time I was taking off my device from the charger I got static electrical shock
BTW, who is still experience this issue try my Restorator utility to save your time on restoring your soft & everything on each unexpected hard-reset! It's FREE!
Cheers
Can I have a link to your restorer utility?

Battery Drain Induced Hard Reset?
Don't think I can simulate it again as I myself dunno what caused it.
Routine sync and charge via cradle today I happened to notice the battery power was depleting slowly.
Waited for awhile to monitor and the battery power indicator still was not turning. Today battery plugins all indicate charging but power keeps on draining.
Switched view to Start-Settings-System-Power in the Control Panel displays same result.
Removed unit from cradle and recharge now the power turned.
What was that all about?!

Here are my tips:
If your problem with charging via cradle occurred more than once, then there is a cradle or battery problem.
Try to disconnect your power cord from cradle and use only USB connection when charging
Also, try to play with your battery. Fully discharge it & leave it for at least 3 hours, then charge it via cradle auxiliary charging slot
Finally, borrow one battery from your friend and check your system stability with the new one
I have upgraded my Himalaya to 1.50g and yesterday forgot to charge it and now it won’t turn on even I’ve put it in the cradle for 2 hours now. How can I fix it and prevent it from happening again? It didn’t happen to me before upgrading to WM0.5
tried reset both the normal reset and the special 2005 hardreset ?
Yes, I’ve try both. But no sign came. Only the red light gets on when I put it in cradle
Put the battery off and place it on the battery slot behind the cradle..
if still the same.. reply ASAP!
I’ve charged the battery since got your advice but it did not help also
I can not see any sign that my Himalaya is alive but the red light when connected with the power supply. With the power I’ve tried to come to bootloader mode but without success. It didn’t respond any more
I’ve just managed to wake it up one time. It comes as from hardreset. The battery indicator showed backup battery 100%, main battery 34%, but it last only about 5 minutes then come off again and the red light come back
sounds like a hardware issue with the battery
or a very very naugthy unstd sim card
Now it’s working again!
Thanks lot! I have cleaned it from inside out let the battery full charged for 1 night, managed to hardreset it, reinstalled the rom and now it’s working again
Last night, I charged my phone through PC and after 57% charge I take it off.
Phone was working fine before I went to sleep. When i woke up i found that my phone is turned off. I try to turn it ON, but it did not give me any response.I thought my battery was completely drained, So, I try to charge it through the SE charger and through PC but nothing worked.
At present, Phone is completely off with no light indication. I tried to charge it many time with and without SIM card and sd card, but it remains in this condition I also tried different methods which are mentioned in some other forums.
Please help me. Did anyone experienced this kind of phone behavior?
I have a similar problem, I`m running on Mini CM6 from quite a time now and I had minor problems which are solved by “wipe data/factory reset”. But that one is bigger. I came back from work and put my phone on the charger, it was at least 24h on it and it stayed on 98-99% did not go to 100%, I remove it from the charger and set an alarm for the next day when the alarm ringed after 5 hours I saw that the phone had 15% of battery. In “About phone>Battery use” there was a “Cell search” (if I`m right) that I saw drained my whole battery. I go to work and put it in the charger again when I came back after 5-6 hours it was again on 98-99% I removed it and set an alarm (again) but for sooner not for next morning) before that alarm ringed the phone had 30% batter after I stop it the battery began to go down 2% at 1 second and it turn off. And guess what I did? Put the charger again for the whole night, the next morning after I woke up I decided to remove it from the charger and turn it off because I knew that it will search for signal again and I have to charge it. And that was the last time I saw it alive since then I don`t have anything from it I tried to charge it ->nothing ; SE PC suite -> nothing its totally dead. Its still in warrant but I`m afraid that they won`t repair it because I use a custom ROM. If anyone have any idea I`m listening.
Thanks in advance
Sorry for my bad English.
Try this:
Press the power button + middle button (home) at the same time.
Slight chance it will help, but you'll never know!
;;@above: right, they won't repair when you've got it modded.
They probablywon't know, you could give it a try.

how to do that when i can`t get anything from it. its like i have removed the battery it doesn`t give any sign of life ( not a light, vibrate etc.)
Aaa ok bro total ****ed well ? Try seus if this wont work your batery could be broke try some one else batery. If not defo broke. ! !!!!!just send it back to se if seus cant get it running they cant find out its rooted
After lots of frustration, I found a solution to charge dead battery by charging it with little High voltage(9v) to get back it into chargeable state. I followed the same procedure and managed to charge my battery, but during and after full charge(99%) battery got very HOT. I was very happy to saw my phone back working, but my happiness was eventually went away when i saw that battery was draining very fast
Now, Battery is lasting just for few hours (2-3) and whole phone gets very hot.
The worst thing is, If i left my phone for few hours and do not charge it, battery will again full drain and i would be in the same condition from where i started.
I wish i never had bought this crappy phone
So i`ve send the phone to service and they said: After many tries we find out that a connection in the motherboard was f****d and its 4 layer so they can`t repair it. Because of a scratch(which is very hard to notice) they cancel the warranty, and they tried to make it so they can take my money but they are stupid and they couldn`t. Now i`m buying a new phone which is not going to be Sony because they don`t make a thing for their old customers(personal opinion). I want to thank you all for your help and support
I read a lot about and also on the sonyericsson website says that these feeding problems are often related to two components:
- Sd card damaged or damaging some application installed, then you want to format
- Memory, or too full
The problems are:
- The phone turns itself off
- Sometimes turns on by itself
- Turns itself off if not turned on unless a soft reset (home + power button)
- If it turns itself off and starts believing it is discharged in office no signs of life
I honestly thought we could find the solution on this forum but apparently it's pretty annoying also an issue for you, I is the third time I hard reset and I think I'll two things:
- Or install a rom
- If the problem persists delete root permissions bringing the device to the condition of complete originality and I'll settle for some applications, at this point I doubt will happen again, so if the phone will sell and buy another one or send it under warranty
If anyone has found a solution to the problem you say that! many of us get us the hair from the head!
Hi guys,
I've had me evo3d from the first day it came out here, august 6th. Never had any problems at all. Until now. Srry about the novel... I've highlighted the most important parts for your convenience.
About 2 weeks ago, i dropped my phone from about 60cm, but with no apparent damage. Later that night, my battery went completely empty (not unexpected, it was a long day). Plugged it into the charger when i got home, led flashed to indicate a completely empty battery then stayed on to indicate charging, no problem. Then it stopped charging after a little while and didn't resume.
I took the phone apart so see if maybe some wire had come loose from falling. None had, but after putting it together again, it did charge again for a moment (also showed flashing leds again), and then it stopped again.
A friend of mine suggested it might be that battery's contacts, so he scratched them with a screwdriver. This actually seemed to help and everything was fine for about a week and a half.
Now trouble has started again. Taking the battery out and blowing on the contacts (NES cartridge style) worked at first, giving me about 10 minutes until it died again. But it seems to be getting worse, and by now it will only turn on or even just charge sporadically. Always flashing the led, indicating the battery is completely empty.
additional info:
It's not the rom that's faulty, as i hoped at first (re-installed an old rom after trying some ICS-goodness the day before all this started), because it also crashed in Recovery at least once. And i've already installed a diffrent rom without any success.
When it crashes, it doesn't just die instantly. Instead, it freezes for about 1/3 of a second. When it crashed in Recovery, during this freeze the text got a weird yellowish background-color and a different font color as well.. but the parts of the screen without text retained their original looks.
What else could i try to fix this? I don't know anyone with a shooter, but i've heard pyramids battery works as well, is this true? Can i try one of those to see if it's just the battery that's tripping?
Let me know if you need any more info.
Thanks a lot for your help in advance!
I didnt had the same problem, but I had something similiar.
Try this:
1. Unplug from charger
2. Get battery out
3. Wait a bit, and put battery in
4. Press Volume Down + Power button
or
4. (better solution) Press Power + Volume Up + Volume Down + Camera button
5. Phone will start
6. Just plug it in
It's known as "Chargning bug" when you flash some roms
It's the charging bug due to flashing clockwork recovery-- search the forum there are many similar threads and solutions
Hi,
Thanks for your responses. But that's not what's happening. In fact, i have an old clockworkmod that's never been a problem at all and i never updated it.
I tried your solution, though, but it only allowed my phone about 15 minutes of charging before it died again.
If it charges, it charges just fine while the phone is off.
My phone has developed a strange problem in the last week or so. Basically, it crashes randomly. Turns completely off, and when I try to turn it on again, it assures me the battery is dead by flashing the empty battery symbol. The problem is, the battery is not dead at all. This has happened at charge levels of ~30% up to almost 60%.
When I plug the phone into a charger, it suddenly shows that it's back at the original 57% or whatever and charges, turns on, and operates normally. It's like plugging it in "reminds" it that everything's okay.
Slightly before this, it also developed a problem where all my widgets often disappear after any dead battery shutdown, but this doesn't happen every time.
It's a factory unlocked E5823 on AT&T, currently on Android version 7.1.1. Some Googling around revealed people having a lot of problems with it in July, but I don't even remember when I got that update. It was definitely a while before this issue started, and other people's issues don't sound like mine. The change that most closely coincides with the onset of this problem is me installing Animal Crossing Pocket Camp. I'm not sure how that would mess with the basic operation of my phone, however.
Thoughts? If the battery was just dying, it would actually drain charge, not falsely crash the phone while really full of juice, I thought, but am I wrong? I haven't felt the need to root this phone, but I'm not at all opposed, either, if it'll help. Should I root it and reset batterystats, see if that helps?

--yep mine too. I'm thinking it has to do with the heaying problem. Mine crashes and dies when there are many apps running/ wifi on with downloads while watching youtube., etc. another is when I recprd videos at 4k pr 720p for about 8-10 mins. My phone heats up real hard. I'll try resetting it and hopefully this fixes it. ps. Haven't done anything to my z5c yet. no unlocked bootloader, no root.,etc.
Same problem
I had the same problem
Device have charge (50,60,70 or more), show 0% and turn off.
Hardware problem maybe ???
any solution found?
hi,
I know it's been a long time you posted this but I'm currently facing that exact same problem.
Could you find any solution in the end?
Thanks

It looks like your battery is just dying. This was a common issue with Nexus 6p and other phones.
Resetting batterystats won't help... it doesen't have anything to do with it
