SPV Cam?

SPV is another Pocket PC phone, it has an digital cam for you to plugin to your phone. I heard that it is a CMOS cam and plugin the series port. Does anyone know ca we use this cam and its driver for our Xda?
SPV is not a PPC device. It is a Smarphone device. Different OS which means no, the SPV cam will not work in the xda.
Therb cam are many USB web cam out there for PC, but none of them is for PPC. Any developer who saw this message kind enough to write a USB cam driver for PPC......Many thanks!
You guys may misunderstood about the SPV CAM...
The CAM for SPV is working via a "SERIAL port", not USB...
In the PRC, someone had try to connect a SPV CAM into XDA and it seems to be pin-to-pin compatiable, but leak in the software driver..

A broken laptop.

I have a broken HP Pavillion laptop..
can i do something with it.... as in make a tab or something like that out of it?
Probably, it's can turn on but you have black screen and noise. Need's GPU reballing. You can't do it yourself.
Pavillions are so crap, I have many clients with GPU problems.
If it's not GPU, describe your problem.
Do you want to put android on it?
It don't think it will work very well, even though android now can run on normal x86 CPUs, check out the Android x86 Project. The problem are the drivers, you can't just use the windows/linux ones.
I hate hp. I use a hp DV6000. Pos laptop. Thinking bout getting an alienware soon or maybe a macbook pro and run it as a vm with win7.

Why have you posted this in the Android General section? This isn't directly related to Android.
To answer your question, it's quite unlikely that you can do anything with it now. What you're asking for is too far fetched at the moment. It's not easy to port a perfect working version of Android to a computer.

Well, if it's still functioning, you can put some Linux distro, make a nice frame for it and use it as a bigger digital photo frame.

DSLR Controller and Nook?

Hey guys,
I´ve read here http://www.dslrfilmnoob.com/2012/08/05/nexus-7-monitor-usb-controller-dslr-controller/ that there is a lot of people using tablets to monitor and control their DSLRs while filming by using an app called DSLR Controller and connecting the camera to the tablet via usb. On this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1638752 I´ve read some people with Nook Color were able to use it but it was tricky.
Has anyone tried this on the Nook Tablet on cyanogen 7?

I guess it might be possible, but probably on the newer versions of CM 10+. Only slight differences with cm and stock android. Maybe the only way is try it out. If it work on color there's a chance it will work on tablet.

Re registering the device camera with DSLR camera with USB otg

Hi,
This might not be the best place to make attention for developers, but here is my app idea
Since Vine is here for android, I have been thinking we can show the middle finger to iPhone users once more,
What I want to try to do is try to re register the Tablet / Phone Camera with my DSLR Camera using USB OTG. So when I use my phone to record or capture anything, it actually use the external connected DSLR Camera to do that rather than the Internal Camera.
Since DSLR Camera Controller is there already, and since there are people who tried to use external webcam with some moding, now the question is who can make this dream come true to me and other photographers?
This idea is highly possible and awesome if someone can make it happen.

Logitech C930e with Android 6.x

Hello!
I am a newbie here.
I have H96 PRO+ Amlogic S912 Octa-Core TV Box w/ 3GB DDR3, 32GB ROM and I would like to buy a webcam to be able to use it for Skyep too.
I would like to know if the Logitech C930e is compatible with Android 6.x or should I buy the Logitech C920?
If you have other webcam recommendations, please feel free to mention it
Thanks
AFAIK it should not matter as the cam will only be detected as a normal webcam anyway.
I doubt Android has specific drivers for Logitech.
I tired on several Android devices with a USB inspection cam using noname Windows drivers.
The cam worked on all Androids right away but I was for example unable to activate the light.

Not too far right. Not every USB Webcam is supported by Android.
You have to pick a one that is compatible with the Android version you have.
For example, I tried an old USB Webcam Logitech v-ubk45 that has a built-in mic with my box and only the mic worked but the cam was not recognized.
Thanks for that info, will keep in mind.
So far I had problems with all sorts of devices but even cam I connected just worked.
I have a 920 still around in one of my spares boxes, will hook it later today and report back if my box will recognise it.
C920 should work well as long as you have Android 5.x and above
Can confirm, my C920 works fine on the X96 and the Yundoo Y8.
I confirm that logitech c930e works well with Android 6.x
