I've broken my XDA I's LCD and touchscreen. Repairing it is awfully expensive, so I bought a second (hand) XDA.
Now I was wondering if someone knows how to use the XDA with the broken display via my desktop.
I installed MS Remote display control, but that needs some 'clicks' on the XDA's touchscreen....
Is there anyone who knows the trick, so I can use my 'broken' XDA controlled remotely?
I cant answer your question, sorry. I am however interested in what possible use you could have for a pda/phone that is forever tethered to a desktop or laptop, it sort of defeats the idea of portability.
you can probably use pirazu to click on stuff
@cruisin-thru: If I can get it to work I can use it to send SMS, or to use it as a GPRS modem, but for all these things I need to 'touch' the screen.
@aceangel: Sorry but I cannot read the txt file, It look like i've the wrong characterset, Can you please post it here as text? TIA
I use a desktop remote tool for my iPAQ earlyer. It name was Virutal Ipaq. Just copy the dll to the device, reboot it, and after you automaticalli can connect from PC-client.
I think you can copy the dll via activesync, right?
Here is a detail article about the program:
http://www.pocketpclife.co.uk/featureddetails.asp?article=5
I can upload here a freeware version, when I am at home.
If you could post the freeware version it would be great! I've searched the web but I cannot find a download.
TIA
[EDIT]
I've found the program on te web, unfortunatelly it does only work partially, It sends the mouse/clicks in the right way, but the screen view on the desktop is screwed up, its rotated 90 degrees and showed 4 times with banding through it.
[/EDIT}
I keep on searching!
I'we tryed on my XDA (WM2003) but as you write, the screen is rotated and unreadeable
But the mouse clicks is working. So if I click on the top right corner on the PC version, there is a click on the top right corner in the XDA. But It will not help you.
Let's try another solution. I attach the files.

Ditto...but for my HTC S620
Try this one. No promises. Back up before you install, etc...

I'd be delighted to test it with BES account, because it needs oly PIN and IMEI, but my qtek 8500 won't run the soft at all...
Installed fine on mine. Just dont have anyway of testing it now!

I wrote to RIM, requesting a client status
Let's see what they say, eh?
lol, RIM is known for its ignorance to VIP vendors, not to say individual customers..
This may be old news to some or all of you guys but I wanted to share it nevertheless.
Pirazu is a very old utility that was made for PPC2002. It basically gave you a mouse cursor for the d-pad on the device. On my Athena it works with the little joy stick.
Hope someone finds this useful. I had to sign up forum to download it and I couldn't find the developers site so I'm uploading it here for everyone.
Just unzip to a folder on your device and run the exe. If you decide to keep it just create a shortcut to the exe or put it into your start up folder if you like it that much. ;-)
Maybe someone can take this exe and dll and update it for the athena community, unless you know of a more updated one that you can refer me to.
EDIT: Please let me know of any other pointer utilities on the forum and provide links. I remember seeing a few around but don't have the links nor names to search on.
I'll try it, thanks...
Hack this to work with the Vueflow!
And man, this could have saved my Universal with dead touchscreen Too late now though.
not bad I prefer using it with the keyboard. as I still have no rubber on the joypad. and with the keyboard it can move diagonaly

Yes, this is nice for devices with dead touchscreen functionality. Just wish it had smooth and diagonal motion. Someone can hack this since we have the exe and dll and enhance it. I hope they do because I haven 't learned how to do this....yet.

I've used both the ameo keyboard, and an external keyboard, which is handy if I havnt got a mouse in the car. it goes diagonally by holding any two of the cursor keys.

Ah, cool.
I'm using a BlueTooth mouse with BlueMouse and love it.

If you could hack ANY of the mouse drivers to work with VueFlo it would be amazing. Sooooo cool.
Id happily pay for it. I wonder if its worth starting a paypal bounty to get vueflo working in other apps.
Hi All,
I've been searching the whole forums and looks like everyone else got no problem except mine.
I can't use multi-touch or double tap to either zoom in or out on Hero browser. When I use two fingers to squeeze in, the brower was squeezed in. But, it'll back to normal when I released.
The font size is too small. I changed text size in properties but, it doesn't change apparently. Even after refresh the page.... it's still the super small font.
It doesn't have zoom functions in properties either.
Should I send my Hero to service center after 2 days of use.
I live in singapore and just bought it 2 days ago. I've been logging into this forum for so many times to find answer about android.
Really thinking of exchanging with HTC Diamond 2.
I was Omnia user previously and Hero doesn't turn out to be the way I want.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks all.
Are you on a mobile website?
I have found the infos by watching one youtube clip. I used to surf only mobile webs and it can't be zoomed. Thus, I tried to surf destop version of Yahoo! and boom it can zoom by multi-touch.
But, it's really small font to see for mobile websites. Text size in properties doesn't change the view either.
To JBNAquatics: If you don't want to help, just skip my post. Your msg helps no one.
first of all daniel.winn.android don't be rude cause what you said about JBNAquatics is plain rude! second mobile website are just the mobile versions of the website for example if you go to urbandictionary on your phone and look at the url when viewing it in your hero you'll see www.urbandictionary.com/iphone << that is the mobile version that has been optimized to be view on mobile phone and you can't multi touch it, to stop viewing websites in there mobile versions youu'll need to do this
open the browser/menu/more/setting/ untick mobile view
To JBNAquatics: So sorry. I misinterpret your msg. Yeah, I was on mobile site. I thought you were trying to insult me as if I was saying sth wrong on my first post. After kalairn posted, then, I realised what you were trying to ask.
Thank you, kalairn.
What I was trying to say is that in Omina, I can still zoom in and out even when I view mobile version sites. But, Hero lacks in it.
But, anyway, I think I have to bear with this small font in Hero as long as I'm using it.
hmmmm text size hmmmm, well to increase the text size you'll need to do this
open the browser/menu/more/setting/ scroll down to text size
Hopefully this will make it more comfortable for you
Just check, in your post you said 'Squeezed in', in the hero this is zooming out (move your fingers closer together). to zoom in move your fingers away from each other.
I know you might flame me for that but just checking.

That is actually a good point to make since it does fit the description but I highly doubt Daniel does not know the difference.

Okie... I played around and found out another thing.
For mobile site, there isn't anyway to change text size since it's already optimized for mobile.
The test size does make difference only on desktop version sites.
Thanks all... I think I need to play with my Hero for another 1 or 2 weeks to know better how it works.
Saw this awesome app on the android, is there anything like it on windows mobile that works on the HD2?, tried astronavigator 2.02, but it gets stuck trying to connect to the GPS "location"
Bump?....
Bump attempt 2
would like to know also
You mean the application that uses gps and compass for showing the sky objects that you are looking to, right? The so called "augmented reality" one? I would really love to see something like that on my HD2, but unfortunately I have not heard of anything like that for WM yet.
this would be great
Using a simple google search I found this:
http://vitotechnology.com/astronavigator.html
Please do try and search first.
edit: Mmm.. just gave it a test run. The application stalls when you try to use your location. Other then that it does work.
I was using Astronavigator on my Omnia but, as said by snipey, it doesn't work anymore for location. and no update is forecast by Vito.
Is there another software for astronomic view?
Pretty sur there is a cab file fix for this on here somewhere
There is another software similar to Google Sky, Stella Theatre Pocket. Even though the site is in Japanese, the software is in English, and works perfectly on the HD2. It will even set your current position via GPS.
Top man Greg, top man

I use Pocket Stars PDA. Search with Google.

Sweet! Thanks dude
How do you get the licence? I can't get past the payment screen.
Figured it out... DUH
Check this out
Leo's Void is a great freeware planetarium - a bit old, but still looks impressive and operates (mostly) well on the HD2.
It's at http://www.leobueno.net/
The problem with astronavigator comes with the resolution, you need wgafix for the location work.
reg workaround for position freeze
if you know your latitute and altitude, then you can simply edit your registry...
navigate to "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\VITO\AstroNavigator" and change the values to your position. they should be "0"
you can check, if your at the right spot, if you switch "night_mode" from "0" to "1" or vice versa if you have it currently enabled.
when you start astro navigator then, you should see the changes regarding night mode, and if you take a closer look, then you should see, that the grid in the map looks different than before
Does it automatically rotate like the Google Sky Map one does? Do any of them?

Same here. It is very good.
hi guys,
My friend and i were playing poker on our computers using our tabs.
He has an ipad2 wich use iteleport
I got a galaxy tab 10.1 and i used teamview
We both succeed to play with similar controls except for one thing:
With teamview i have to drag the mouse cursor over the action button or the area i want to press
With iteleport the "touchscreen" ability stay in, making him really more efficient
Now here is the question:
Is there any other program for android that will let me control my pc WITH the possibility of using the "touchscreen" way of moving the cursor
Thanks for ur help
anyone can help ?
am sure some peoples are using another program than teamview
did you tried to use a remote desktop client li extralogic one?

am not sure i understand what you are trying to say.
Teamviewer is installed on my tab and on my pc, thats why i can take control of the pc.
what im looking for is a way to not "drag" the cursor once connected.
with teamviewer, with the tab, i have to drag the cursor
with iteleport, with the ipad, you just tap where you want the cursor to be
i guess i ask for something that doesnt exist since nobody has replyed
5 Minutes of googling and I came up with "Logmein". It's expensive, though, but it works how you want. You are able to move the mouse relatively like on Teamviewer, but you can use "absolute" input, like a touchscreen.
I also heard logmein works well
Sent from my SPH-D710 using XDA App
