I need some help and I'm not technical... when using my XDAII with only a Jabra FreeSpeak BT250 I had no problems at all. Recently I had my car dealer install a bluetooth hands free system (Parrot CK3000 - www.bluedrive.com) in my car and when I pair with my XDAII the headset connection is lost with the Jabra becuase there is no handsfree option on the XDAII. As I understand it, I must have a headset profile for the Jabra and a handsfree profile for the CK3000. Is it possible to have two profiles on my XDAII for two types of connections? If so, how? If not, does anyone know how I could have two headset profiles that I could easilly switch between based on the pairing device I want to use? Please help...

Well, the XDA II comes with Microsoft's Bluetooth stack, and that stack just does not implement the Handsfree Profile. Some people have, with some degree of success, installed a Widcomm Bluetooth stack on an XDA II. However, as the Widcomm stack was never officially ported to the XDA II, it cannot completely replace the Microsoft stack, so that solution has a few quirks (having two stacks, and switching betrween them for different applications). If you want to try that, just search for "Widcomm". Be advised, however, that the Widcomm stack is not freeware, and is not sold separately. So, all version you find are pirated.
Then there are the Pocket Bluetooth Tools (http://bluetooth.i-networx.de). I think they would allow you to have more than one Bluetooth headset paired with your XAD II, but unfortunately at least the version 1.1.0 does not work with your Parrot. I know that for sure, because I have a Parrot CK-3000 myself (firmware 3.13), and no matter what I tried, it didn't work.
And this is where your options end... no luck, I am afraid.

Two BT Stacks...what are the potential problems
Thanks for the initial support...very helpful!
If I install the Widcomm Bluetooth software what functions will not be supported/available. I currently have he Jabra FreeSpeak BT250 and the Parrot CK-3000 I would like to pair but also have a BT Sony Vaio Laptop PCG-Z1WAMP3 that I will pair over the next few days and plans to purchase a BT GPS unit in a week that works on the XDAII and the Laptop. Will Widcomm software support all my needs or will it fall short.
PS - before reading your post I tried Pocket Bluetooth Tools (http://bluetooth.i-networx.de) version 1.1.0 and I could not pair the two either. I was initially happy and finally maddened! Should this be removed before adding Widcomm if I do elect to proceed?
Cances of getting anything to work with your sony vaio (other than other sony kit) are slim, sony use their own peculiar bluetooth stack and it doesn't support any but the most basic profiles on any other stack. If I try to search services on my sony c1-mhp from my xda 2 with either widcomm stack or microsoft stack all i get is a load of serial ports.
I did see a thread a while ago about using the widcomm stack on a vaio, but can't remember where.

Well, it'll be hard enough to get two stacks together working on one hardware, so I don't think it'll be a good idea to add a third player (the Bluetooth Tools) to the game.
I had the Widcomm installed only very briefly. Some time after that, more elaborate instructions on how to install and set up the beast occured on this forum, so your best bet is to search the forum for "Widcomm" and read everything you find. Be warned - it still is a big hack that involves manually adjusting Registry entries and such things.

I just got my XDA II and loving it. This is my first post here, I've been looking for a great XDA site and now I found one.
First question is, how do you guys find all those ROM updates and Radio Stack upgrade? I have 1.60.00WWE and Radio version 1.08.00. Is there a new rom upgrade out there that I can't find in myxda.com site?
Second question, could I replace the Microsoft Bluetooth stack so I can use my bluetooth headset to listen to music or videos?
Thank you for your time,
Eberhard
I can answer the second question, the bluetooth on the xda2 does not allow listening to music through bluetooth headset neither has the full handsfree/headset profile been implemented. A very clever person has however written a program called pocket bluetooth tools which go some way to addressing some of the shortcoming regarding serial port profiles. Some of the later roms however have negated the need for this program. Run a search on this forum for "bluetooth", make sure you have an hour or two to spare.

The official upgrades you can find everywhere, especially on the company site like: www.clubimate.com (I-Mate)
www.myxda.com (Xda-O2)
www.qtek.nu (Q-tek)
Who let you download the newest upgrade by free.
-Actually there isn't such implemetantion on curent bluettoh stack but, have you tryed installing the new Bluetooth hacked Stack from Widcomm?
I give u the link for Access the Lan over Bluetooth, then you will find the link to the download of the Stack named BluetoothGPS.zip

Thanks for all the tips you guys given me. I tried bluetooth stack and so far it works.
As for the hack on the bluetooth, I'm going to try it now.
But it still don't fulfill my satisfaction as I can't listen to music thru my bluetooth headset, at least not with bluetooth tools.
Thanks again, I hope this bluetooth hack will solve my needs to listen to music over my headset.
what hack are you guys talking about ??
i ve installed widcomm stack and the kai patch. when the widcomm manager connects to the headset it gives beeping sounds but after i answer the beeps there is no sound on my imate or the headset..
what hack are you guys talking about ??
Well, I tried the Widcomm BT tools and the darn thing don't work. 2 Bluetooth Icon Appeared on the bottom and I tried to connect my Headset and it doesn't want to stay connected when I hit the connect button. It would sound on but then it turns off and I can't answer a call with it.
Does Widcomm BT has to be installed with the Bluetooth Tools?

Thanks very much Sin!
Been Looking forward to this SiN! Made my weekend!
Thank Sin for putting it together.
I originally Had and Orange SPV M1000, and upgraded it with the O2 1.72 version, in the hope that it would sort out the problems with Blue Tooth and Handsfree car kits, which it did not of course.
Thought I would try the rom from Mystery Man, which interestingly did not require any changes to the files to allow it to update, which also did not work the blue tooth, so I was going to try just updating the Radio to 1.18, but saw your new package pop up, so thought what the hell, give it a go, and now I am made up cos been very frustrated that it would not work in car kit.
The car kit I have is the Nokia CK-7W Blue tooth if this helps anyone else, I also assume it will work with the others, in particualr the built in ones in BMW's.
So thanks again everyone, I can sleep now.

Other known issues..
Thanks for the job SIN!
I have to point out a couple of issues I'm having since long, that seem related to the BT problem, but looks like no one else is having: "DUAL STEREO" sound in both (XDA II and Handsfree/headset) devices.
No matter BT headset is "enabled" or "disabled", the devices configured as "handsfree" are operational. Plus, my HBH 35 headset refuses to work unless configured as a handsfree device. After that, every handsfree device works in "STEREO" mode. Nice for multi part conferences, but annoying for your caller, who hears every tap on the XDA in your pocket, since the mic is operational no matter what.
I'm really the only one with this problem?
:?:
Hi Sin
Just a quick question, tried to change the splash1 & 2 images, to get away fro O2 image you put into file, but having probs with corrupted display if the image, howd you do it please, as I understand the normal method does not work with Chinese and Trial versions !
Many thanks in advance.

Currently I am using bluetooth tools to connect my GPS to my XDAII, does the new roms enhance bluetooth or should I still install bluetooth tools?
thanks.

ExtendedROM...
@ Sin,
This merge ROM version of yours, what is the most very important file that I need to keep on my extended_ROM? Last time I used your version without any problem But I need to remove some CAB file for my own customization. But now seems that ms_.nbf has only one file (Sin.Merged.v1.0.cab) which I think all the CAB file was in there.
Is it possible to gave us your merge CAB without the rest of installed program? Or is it okay to delete some CAB on extended_ROM after installation (cooked-own ROM style)?
Thanks!

BUT with ROM 2.06 (mysteryman), Sin.AU.v3.5(extended_ROM) and 2.02t1 Reg CABv3.cab (from henrylim). I am no longger needed bluetooth tools, it works without any issue.

Nice to know, thanks for info, I was about to think no one else has the problem.
I've been experimenting during the weekend, and found that the problem remains quite the same: some headsets/handsfree only work if the HandsFree profile is selected, and then the "dual stereo" problem arises again.
By contrast, version 2.20 properly handles every "audio" device (at least my devices) but I haven't found how to made BT ActiveSync back to life. Plus the other known issues with the translation (May I help Buzz_lightyear?)
Resume: Excellent job by Sin (regards) but the whole BT thing is not yet fixed. I like his "new compact" Ext Rom, but since HandsFree profile is at this time more important to me than BT ActiveSync, I'm going back to 2.20.

I have a CoPilot Bluetooth GPS unit and it does not need Bluetooth Tools to get it to work via serial port emulation. I'm using 2.06 ROM.
With the BT GPS bonding, you get to say you want it to be a serial port but you don't get to specify what specific port number like with Bluetooth tools. This is not a problem with CoPilot software as it will FIND the serial port and baud rate in it's Bluetooth connection/configuration setup.
I also have a SanDisk SDIO WiFi card which also works fine (note the card is NOT the SDIO RAM+WiFi though!).

Hi again!
How exactly did you get to eliminate de "Dual stereo" effect in your carkit? I have too a HBH 35 headset and the problem remains on both of them.
This is my only complain, everything else works so well! And Sin made such a good job putting the Ext Rom together!
Thanks Sin for the easy to install ROM.. well done.
My Bluetooth GPS works fine, a bit of a change not having to select a port, but the port is displayed so that wasn't a problem.
My Logitech Headset refuses to work. It pairs with the XDAII but I am unable to iniate a call from the headset and the mic doesn't work.
The Bluetooth smybol is gone from the task bar too... probably something I did...
Is there a cab about that allows me to reinstall the bluetooth section just in case I stuffed somethign up?
Thanks.
Does the WM 2005 bluetooth work properly with handsfree profile or is it like 2003 and only work with head set profile :?:
Thanks
Jon
Works perfectly with my MR Handsfree headset. Until now I could not get it working in handsfree mode. With WM2005 it is working.
Own an AUDI with the factory installed Bluetooth handsfree kit and I have never been able to pair the XDAii with it so that it works properly - incredibly unstable and never could get to work completely... been lurking this forum and others and tried lots of solutions... upgraded the OS to WM5 today and first time paired and works perfectly - even displays caller ID on the Audi instrumentation!!! Most pleased - now if only I can get the o2 GPRS connection to work
Did notice the following problems with the Bluetooth
- Com ports not recognised - seemed to have something to do with the pairing... simple reset after pairing with Audi would then allow com port assigned to BT GPS (not fully tested yet)
- Multiple pairing - device seems to want to pair more than once not sure about this one but who cares it works now

Now if I can just get it to voicedial via bluetooth...
Jabra BT250 here and Handsfree works great!!!
WM2005 is the only OS that I have had where my Jabra does what i want it to do.
Craig.
The crux is can you activate your phone through your BT headset to call any number?
No good in a BMW
I loaded 2005 and tried to pair it with my BMW, although the pairing went well and the hands free profile was selected, its no better than Sins 2003 rom.
The microphone in the car doesnt work, the speakers do. The microphone on the phone is the active one. It wont connect a call unless you try twice and you have to answer call twice before they connect.
Bugger
Jon
In the devices list, tap and hold the car kit, and select handsfree, see if this helps.
Voice dialling
The thing I find most surprising with WM2005 (and the previous versions for PPC) is the lack of hands free/car kit voice dialling. That is one thing the P910 has over WM2005 phones that emphasises that full convergence has not happened in the mind of developers... the PPC is a PDA with phone connectivity, whereas the Symbian system has taken the approach that its a phone first and foremost. With the simple addition of hands free voice dialling, WM2005 could be the first really convergent OS.
(I'm kinda hoping someone will say they have a perfect voice-dialling system in place for the XDAII with WM2005, in which case I'll gladly eat my words)
I am still very grateful for ALL those here who have helped deliver three OS upgrades to my XDA in the space of 18 months!!!
Some people are using Microsoft Voice command with Magneto and they reported it to work well.
Cheers
Pat

Has anyone tried to pair and use the Motorola HF800 Bluetooth speaker together with the Wizard?
According to http://www.mobiletechreview.com/tips/Motorola_HF800.htm, the following functions, apart from being able to produce the audio output from the pda, are supported by the speaker: "voice dialing, redialing, putting a call on hold and call conferencing". Do these features work together with the Wizard?
Coming from fantastic SonyEricsson and Ipaq bluetooth environments, where I never had to worry about bluetooth functionality, I have realised that the MS Bluetooth stack isn't to be taken for granted...
If I have understood it correctly, the Qtek offers "Dial-up Networking", "Serial Port" and "Object push" as bluetooth services. Is there a limitiation regarding services, provided by other paired devices, that it can utilize (eg the above mentioned services provided by the Motorola speaker)?
Thanks in advance!
Bluetooth problems too!!!
Hi,
I am not sure about your problems with the Motorola headset...
All I can say is that i am very disappointed with the functioning of the Nokia Carkit ck7-w in combination with the Qtek 9100... I only have this carkit for about 6 months, and now it doesn't work with the Qtek 9100. Well, it works but there is a very annoying echo for the person on the other side of the line...
Appearantly nokia say that the carkit is only fully compatible with Nokia phones... So what's the thing with Bluetooth, i thought this was meant to be a universal system, so howcome it is still brand-specific...
Anyway, if anybody has a solution for Bluetooth communication with this carket, or the Motorola Headset it would be very welcome.

I have searched across all the forums and have noted that the Hermes does not pair with a Cars built in blue-tooth radio allowing sound through the built-in speakers.
Does anyone have an update to this issue or is it just a case that WM6/Hermes and integral vehicle bluetooth simply do not work.
I have tried upteen ROM updates to no avail. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. BTW I have paired the brand new car (Fiat) successfully with a Nokia 5300, XDA Exec (WM6.1) and XDA IIi (WM2003)

Pairing a Hermes with a Bluetooth Car Kit is certainly possible, and indeed routine. I have successfully paired with my two Ford cars, with a variety of WM5, WM6 and WM6.1 ROMs.
I merely followed the usual steps to set up a partnership, and ensured that the partnership was set as 'Hands Free' on the final page of the setup process.
So my experience is - no dramas, and I can't see why you are having problems. The car is, after all, just acting as a Bluetooth headset.
Transfer of contacts to your Car Kit is a bit more problamatical, as you have to set up Bluetooth Sim Access Protocol (BT SAP), to give the car, as it says, access to your sim card.
Hi and thanks for the response.
I have no problem pairing the hermes and it reads all my contact information and does everything I would expect save for the sound; I don't get any sound from the cars speakers and yet it all works perfectly with other makes/models of phone/pda.
I suppose the problem would be easier to solve if none of it worked but it does. I watch the car screen as it tells me I am making a phone call from my address book and I can see calls coming in but I cannot use the microphone on the PDA nor hear anything via the pda or the car's speakers. The XDA Exec (WM6) Nokia 5300 and XDAIIi (WM2003) work flawlessly (I borrowed those from my friends).
Thanks once again.
