Hello,
My QTek's Buttons all don't work! None of them even volume (cept the 2 phone ones). I have the QTek 1010
ROM=3.16.13
ENG Radio 3.19.01.
Please someone give me any advice on how to fix this. I have done a hard reset many times with no change.
THANK YOU SO MUCH
Has no one heard of anything like this b4? Please someone reply.
i really dunno what happen to you but you can try assigning the hardware buttons again;
Start -> Settings -> Buttons - > assign your buttons.
Hope this helps.
Perhaps a silly question, but the buttons do not work when the Qtek is on ?
In my case the Contacts and Calender buttons are disabled when off, so I cannot switch the XDA on by accident.
Do you still feel the click when pressing the buttons ? Just to verify the buttons are not physically defect.
HTH,
Peter.

ok, i've searched, but there's sooo many threads with 'soft reset' in it's daunting. i just want to know if i can soft reset my niki without an app installed? if not, is there an app to do this single task, not a cluttered app like wisbar/lite/wk etc.?
thanks, sorry if i've missed an obvious thread and feel free to flame!!
eheheh.
just long-press the power button. it will turn your phone off. then long-press it again
hi, thx, i know that one, just wandered if any other way? as this completely restarts phone. the apps just seem to reboot it quicker?
The long power off press is best, you can do the more tedious take off the cover, use your stylus at an angle near the usb port and reach the soft reset button.
ahh, thx all
Hi. Does anybody have an idea how to switch off the display manually through pressing some keys or menu icons? I found only the timed automatic possibility in the battery settings, but I need the manual function too. On each of my previous phones (TyTN II, i780) it was always possible. Thanks for your help.
Use mortscript to turn-off display and then assign the script to a hardware button.

Hmm, a little bit to complicated, but thanks for the tip
So your not talking about putting it to sleep by touching the power button? I think all my wm devices have this feature, killing the screen instantly.
I'm not sure about the request - anyway isn't it what Rose does when you press and hold End Call button?

If you touch the power button on the Rose, a menu apears, wher you can choose: if you want to switch the whole phone off, lock the keys, call the task manager or the comm manager. There is unfortunatelly no option to switch only the display off

Pressing and holding the End Call button locks the keys, it doesnt switch the display off
...simply very easy, I am looking for something like psshutxp but for smartphones (WM 6.1 standard). You can everywhere find only the pocket PC version for WM professional, which you can not unfortunatelly install on a smartphone.
Yeah, I was thinking of the pro devices. They seem to get all the love anyway. There seems to not be a built in solution then. Setting the screen timeout real short would be only option and thats not a good option at all. If I come across anything I'll repost. I've just been using the red end key. But I'm so hooked on my touch pro right now I've forgotten the rose for awhile.
Here is the solution for all my troubles http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=473017
After a major fall the screen was broken.I send it and they fixed it but they broke the wifi.
i send it back and they fixed the wifi but they broke the up down volume buttons.
i opened it my self and saw that they have completely ruined it.
anyway .
i have a healthy hd2 except that the 2 volume up/down buttons dont work.
i have a software app that handles volume in wm6.
i deleted htcvolume.dll (sthing like that to fix some problems) and now my official greek rom for hd2 keeps rebooting endlessly.
cannot perform a hard reset (no keys remember?)
soft reset does nothing
any ideas? (not the style of sending it back for fixin or replacement)
before i completely screw that thing trying some weird methods to press those 2 buttons simultaneusly with the power button !!!
thanx in advance
Hello guys. At first i´m so sorry for my bad english, so i´ll show you a video of my problem.
Phone - HTC Hero, Android 2,1

I can´t post outside links in my messages...

It will not go to sleep mode when pressing the end/power key. But it still takes phone OUT of sleep mode, but now I have to wait for the screen timeout instead of pressing the button again.
I tried to find answer to my question, but i failed... I tried Reboot, Spare Parts - i don´t know if it worked properly, Hard reset, but the power button still not working properly.
Thank you! Marty

Try to restore your phone to the default, or try to install a custom rom

Now i did a ROOT and i try to flash in some ROMs but it still not works + it cancels my outcoming and incoming calls...
Sounds like you have a failing power button.. like I do.
It's a real pain in the ass... been looking for solutions for quite a while, besides physically replacing the circuit board the button is on...
I know this is old but for anybody researching the same problem... after trying MANY different apps for taking over power button tasks, the only real solution was to buy a replacement "Flex Cable" assembly on eBay. Takes some bravery to install but everything works now.
But that's just my experience.
I suppose that the simplest way out id button remapper that you can find hear at xda.
By using such software you can easily turn any of the other physical keys of your device into the power button.

True, and they did work once the phone was up and running. However, when something went wrong on my rom and I needed to get into recovery to re-flash... I was SOL.
Yes, remapping is applied only after the kernel is loaded... So remapping is quite useless if the phone is switched off.
Hi,
I`ve got a problem with my Galaxy s3. The powerbutton is broken. Now my mobile starts and, much worth, shut down randomly (or is hanging in a bootloop). I don`t want to repair the hardware as I get a new phone in a month.
Could anyone give me a hint where I can move the whole function from powerbutton to homebutton and finally how to disable the powerbutton completely?
My Device is rooted and I have already disabled the soft buttons because I enabled the onscreen buttons. So I know roughly how to change those things but in this case I don`t know where exactly. There are several "power" in the "generic.kl" file. But not sure which one is the right and more important: how to move the function to homebutton.
If anyone could give me a hint Than I would be more than grateful
Thanks, Sven

Hi Sven I can help kind of if you wanted you could turn the power button fucntion off completely while the phone is on to prevent the function to be used but you cant map the functions used by the power button to the home button as far i know if you want to not use the power button while the phone is on you can use this Java code if this might help......
Java
<
KeyguardManager keyguardManager = (KeyguardManager) getSystemService(Activity.KEYGUARD_SERVICE);
KeyguardManager.KeyguardLock lock = keyguardManager.newKeyguardLock(KEYGUARD_SERVICE);
lock.disableKeyguard();
<
and then In Manifest File give this permission inside application tag
<
<uses-permission android:name="android.permission.DISABLE_KEYGUARD"></uses-permission>
<
hope this can be used by you.
Wow, thank you so much! This is a good solution for now. I'll give it a try at this weekend and give feedback. I'm on my way right now.
If anyone else knows another way I would appreciate those ideas too. Thanks!
