Hi !
I have this problem so.
Anybody tell the answer ?
Hi, Mine does this also, lasts from 4 - 6 weeks then dies in this way. I keep a updateed SD bk up on sd card for quick restore if on the road. apps/data also on sd.
I dont know why this is tho, Im in a team of 4 each having a xda and mine is the only one that does this.
It also struggles with getting GPRS too.
Neil
Hi guys,
I 'm not sure, but seems that all of you are suffering this problem by having Radio 4.21, and up to my information this was aimed only for O2 users. I have Qtek 1010 but still on 3.18 and it's working so good.
Did you make this RUU upgrade your self ?? and did this problem start after the upgrade ??
From reading through this forum, you may have to either down grade the radio part (to 3.19 for example), or upgrade the Win to WM2003.
yes I did the upgrade by myself and also my friend did that and his device is working good...
Yes ... I didn't say this would be a failure in all cases, but it's recommended to use a "trustworthy" combination of ROM and Radio versions as each providor may make some tweaks in the radio stack to make optimized with the network
My xda has this prob on a old version, updated via o2 direct to latest version, but it still pops up aftr around 4-6 weeks.
Try using O2 version 3.17, this is the latest one released to the General Public.
We currently have version 3.21 here which has just been sent to us by O2. Will let you guys now whats the story with that it.
Mike
3.17 is designed to work with 4.21 Radio Stack
been running 3.17 now 4 3 weeks, sofar ok.
Will upgradings to the next version change my 'device code' as used for Tom Tom? or is that originating from imie number?
neil
Michael_sabry,
Upgrading the Radio Stack will NOT change the device code. The device code is factory programmed in the device (NOT ROM). I have gone from 3.16 to 3.17 to 3.17.x1 without any problems.
Just a note for about this post, HTC only use approx 100 device codes. We bought a batch of 700 direct from O2 and well over 3/4's of them had the same device code. Nice one saved us ££££'s on TomTom 2.0

Hello, First of all i wanted to tell you guys that i really appreciate the things you are doing for the community and i hope i can help a bit 2.
I have a T-Mobile MDAII which i want to upgrade. I have seen the "today screen" of O2 and i really love it. I have some questions though about the upgrading.
- When i make a backup using XDATools can i safely restore it?
- Does it matter if my phone is still sim locked?
- Do i need the t_mobile to 02 rom update or can i just upload a new 02 rom?
- Using romkitchen, i have built a rom with "4.00.16 ENG T-Mobile US" Is this better then an O2 rom upgrade?
Does somebody have the latest upgrades for me?
- Radio stack upgrade
- Rom upgrade
Thanx

I'm sorry, that i can't help you concernig to you other questions, but i only use the xda I device, but the cooked 4.00.16 ROM from the kitchen is useless for you. These Roms, out of the official kitchens are specified for the XDA I / MDA I /QTEK1010 device. But you have an xda II....

Not sure about XDA Tools, but if this is for the XDA, not XDA II or MDA II, then it does not apply. Last item N/A also.
Yes I believe it would matter if your phone was locked, but cannot confirm.
You will need the cooked ROM, t_mobile to 02 rom update . Otherwise, you will run into the country error issue.
I also have an MDA II, and I would like to use this upgrade also, but I have been reluctant to use a custom ROM or hack, because I'm certain that my device's warranty wouldl be voided if I do so. I also understand that going back to a ROM or downgrading to a ROM may be problematic.
If you elect to install it let me know how you like the O2 Rom.
Recently I upgraded my XDA II to the "latest" non beta ROM and radio version.
The o2 site now shows an upgrade to 1.60.50 ROM (not 1.60.00WWE which is what I upgraded to). The Radio Version is still 1.1
The description of the upgrade looks very similar to the one I have already installed.
Have o2 slipstreamed an upgrade and not announced it?
Or did I miss the announcement?
Or have o2 just got it wrong again?

Watch this space - I believe there is a more major upgrade coming soon (but not the SE release).
;-)
Hi there
Has anyone had success upgrading the XDA IIi Radio Rom as it appears to ship with Radio Rom 1.0.00 and from what I read there are much newer versions of the rom.
I only want to upgrade the radio rom, not the os which is already 2003SE when shipped.
Anyone any comments
Cheers
G!
I have upgraded my xda to the last rom update released by o2...it froze the xda, so that it wouldnt go any further than the splash screen showing the radio version, i have managed to down grade to the previous rom update. I would like to update the xda to the most recent rom, can any one recommend where i can get i from, and will it run Tom tom 5 without problems.
Looking for advice and recommendation. is it worth upgrading to wm2005 if it is where can i get it without using o2's upgrade.
