Also plz look at the thread by dcs to avoid any country-id errors (which you might encounter since you have currently an O2 rom active)

I don't understand how the Tmo Netherland applets would be usefule for a T-Mobile USA user.

Me neither, but it seems to work!
Plus: You het (the possibility) of the T-Mobile looks

Where can I get idiot instructions how to do it. I do have Ruu...edsubsoft....exe

Unlocking and upgrading XDA II

dear all,
i know the following has been discussed in the forum before, but as a novice i would just appriciate it if someone would confirm that what i am about to do is correct.
i have the an XDA II, Rom Version 1.03.00 USA, Radio Version 1.05.12.
i am about to upgrade the Rom via the UK O2 website to a 1.60.50 version and 1.10 radio version.
will i then be okay to unlock the XDA II using the new unlocking method?
my main concern is that i will install too new a version which will not allow me to unlock the XDA II, the 1.10x version for example.
let me know, thanks guys.
p.s. the site is great, i am in a bit of difficulty at the mo with cash, but as soon as i am on my feet again, i will definetly be making a donation, i think we all should.

Any ROMs support New Zealand Vodafone network?

I am new to this top of ROM upgrades. We are looking to upgrade the WM5 ROM on my wife's Imate JaMIN, but I am unsure if the device will still work on the New Zealand Vodafone network afterwards? Do any ROMs specifically support NZ? Or am I worrying about nothing?
Any help appreciated...
ROMs do not have any specific operator. All of the current settings (regarding GPRS etc) will be lost, but using one of HTC's own tools called "Network Setup Wizard" the settings can be restored very rapidly.
Any ROM should work with any network, but you will have to unlock the device first. If it is an Imate Jamin and not an operator branded device, it should already be unlocked. If not, there is a link in my signature for "Prophet Tools": use it to unlock your device...
hi, have a dopod 818 pro as in my sig, using on vodafone NZ quite ok, no problems so far. didn't get the phone from vodafone so don't know if there's any customisations on it. all settings like mms/gprs can be found on voda's website, direct link:

You are on AT&T with a US T-Mobile device?
Anyway, no, it won't work. The US model has more ROM memory than the international models.
thanks for the infos! Good to know that this can't be done.

Besides risky tricks with flashing wrong radio and getting expensive paperweight as a result you will not get any benefits flashing European rom.
Theoretically if you really want to have Euro variant - you can extract ruu_signed.nbh from Euro ship.exe and flash it. The device won't be bricked but you will loose half of your flash size.
Normally it works on the contrary - the owners of the European model are installing the OEM drivers and nk from the American model to enable more memory.
If you want to get rid of T-Mobile specific services and settings - flash any custom Leo rom which is TMOUS compatible.

i think flashing a euro rom (without radio) ((or for example a euro based cooked rom)to a tmous leads to boot sticking at the RGD info screen. Or am i mistaken? ( I have a euro, not tmous, just 14 months dedicated reading, hehe)

I would not try it at all the risk of bricking your HD2 is way too high if you do not make sure all factors involved are correct. Plus as other posts here says you will lose some of the phone capabilities.
Selliing my HD2 overseas!!!!!!!!
I am selling my hd2 on ebay and believe it or not downgrading to an optimus s that I want to use either on virgin or Cricket/ Metro for a cheaper better plan. If anyone can help me with the proper radio and rom to flash that would be awsome.
But, that is not my question. On the HD2 side so far the only bidder is from Greece and I have advertised (custom Rom WM6.5, WP7, or Android) Will a Tmous rom work in Greece? If not What rom/or radio will?
I flashed Asia ROm to T-Mobile HD2 and bricked. I believe Euro ROM will do same. Now only way is to use JTAG method to recover

[Question] Good Non-EU operator branded ROM for 512Leo

I currently have RUU_Leo_S_hTC_Asia_WWE_3.14.707.3_Radio_15.42.50.11U_2.15.50.14_LEO_S_Ship.exe but since I have a lot of problems with my Leo with that ROM (e.g. sometimes it won't charge at all until I soft-reset it, some notifications like for example PockeTwit are not working, WiFi doesn't work probably most of the times even when I'm just a few foot steps away from the access point I'm connecting to, the phone suddenly doesn't recognize the MicroSD card anymore after a Soft-Reset) I wonder if my phone's hardware is actually broken or if it might be just a problem with the ROM.
Based on my experiences with other HTC phones I previously had (Touch 2, Touch Diamond 2) I think that with HTC the operator branded ROMs are better optimized and tested when it comes to stability and performances than the generic unbranded (retail) ones.
So now I'm looking for an operator branded WWE ROM for my European 512Leo. I would go with the latest O2 ROM but unfortunately that is for the UK and so it has that stupid EU imposed volume capp and I really don't want that. Of course the T-Mobile US ROM won't work on my 512Leo so the only alternative I could think about is the Telstra Australia ROM but unfortunately that is pretty old
So does anybody know any other official branded Non-EU WWE stock ROMs I could try or is that Telstra one really the only one for my "special needs"
Thanks
karlmueller
I figured out that "RUU_Leo_1_5_TMOUS_3.14.531.1_Radio_Signed_15.42.50.11U_2.15.50.14_2_Ship.exe" works on my EU Leo perfectly (when flashed with Gold Card) - so no need to find a different ROM anymore
thx
karlmueller
Also, no need for goldcard, hspl will do that for you no problem.
