I am from India.
I wanted to buy a Locked Bell Samsung Galaxy S2 from Canada, bring it to India, and thought of flashing an Indian stock sbf... Will this remove the network lock so that I can use the phone with an Indian sim card without a problem?
If there are any other suitable methods plz let me know about them...

I used an app by helroz. It worked a treat and was quicker than chainfires app which didn't work for me.

flashing an indian sbf will not unlock your phone. You should get unlocked before you leave Canada.
try helroz unlock.
or unlock by imei online. There are some reputable companies that do it.
If you try this method do yur research first.

You're not getting responses because this has been asked and answered repeatedly. Had you actually used the search engine you would have discovered that you need to contact your carrier and get the unlock code from them. If they refuse, you'll need to buy an unlock code from a third party.
Next time, before posting try searching for your answer.
Why don't you say which network you are locked to?
If it is O2 then contact them direct or else use the form:-

You need an unlock code to unlock your phone and make it work on any GSM network worldwide. You need that only if your phone is locked to a particular network. Please check your PM for more details

Anyone got the network unlock code on this model?
I just got an alcatel, it was sent to me by an uncle from the U.s.a , but it doesnt use our mobile sim here in nigeria... It is hooked to boost mobile... Please can anyone help me unlock it online, will be grateful.. MOD EDIT: Removed personal information
XDA doesn't provide any SIM unlocking services. Please work through official means of unlocking your phone.
