Please help! I have the T-Mobile MDA 2 and the sync connector on the bottom is bend. I can no longer cradle the device or attach the power dongle. Does anyone know how to fix the connector, or if there is a place I could send it?
Thanks.

Does anyone know where I can buy the plug that plugs into the bottom connector for an XDAIIs?
I've asked everyone I can think of, searched Google, Maplin(UK) and Expansys and I can't find one.
It's probably because I don't know the correct name for it!
Ideally, I'd like one that has all 22 connections and even cables attached - they look really hard to solder onto by hand!
Any information would be greatfully received
Thanks

http://www.gomadic.com/connectors.html sells connectors
Wallaby, Himalaya are compatible with HP iPAQ Connector Plug Assembly (19/22/38/39/41/43/51/54/5500 Series)
but read that the plug of BlueAngel is not exactly the same.
I purchased an XDA II car charger from the O2 shop in Manchester - it came with a plug that works fine with my XDA2s - have used it on the car charger and on the supplied power lead - charges fine.
When I got my IIs, it CAME with the plug already, any standard car charger can plug right into that plug and then the IIs... You sure you guys didn't get it?????
I think you mis-understood me - I'll try again!
I have developed a complete installed car kit for XDA, XDAII and IIs that does the following.
Mutes stereo when in call and puts all sound to front speakers
Can put navigation commands through the stereo
Hooks up to external microphone
Has PS2 (Holux) and RJ11 (TomTom and Leadtek) GPS connections
Charges device
I'm trying to get hold of a connector with 22 connections because I have one problem left.
To switch the car kit on, I either need a 5V feed from the device OR need to be able to put 5V in on one pin and get 5V out of another.
If anyone can help with either the connector or letting me know which pins I might be able to use send me a mail please
Thanks

Hello.
Can Have any of the helps to build a data cable for HTC Blue Angel.
That is how you can convert the charcher to data cable .
Sorry for any mistake in English.

just sent you a mail, for anyone else interested in that topic:
the blueangel connector layout is to be found here:
http://pinouts.ru/PDA/pda_blue_angel_pinout.shtml
with that information, you should have the knowledge to make a usb cable of your own.
Thank you brother.

Chef_Tony, I hope you can help me answering this question...
Does it safe to connect to charger and PC if my proprietary port got bend at pin number 1 and 2?
I am worry if the pin number 2 which is ground pin might be important for charging...
Hi
Please excuse me being a newbie with a slightly odd question
Someone recently gave me an old HTC Himalaya to play with (O2 XDA II). The 'phone had been dropped and wouldn't charge up. Taking the battery out and charging it separately I was able to get the 'phone working fine.
I dismantled it to find that the 22-pin connector for power and data had completely detached itself and it fell out of the case. The pins were badly bent so I soldered power lines directly to the main board and it charges fine.
Now... what I really want to use this 'phone for is the heart of a vehicle diagnostics system (written in Pocket Zeus) so I need a working RS232 connection. I used Bluetooth to transfer a couple of test programs to the 'phone and they are showing that Com 1 won't open, but Com 2 and 3 will.
Can anyone tell me which ports the RS232 connections on the Himalaya match up to? In particular the port on the 22-pin connector. I can hardwire a 9-PIN D serial plug to this connection if I can get the port open.
Many thanks in advance and all help greatly received.

Hello if you have problem with connector you can use Jumper
Thank you.
I soldered a new cable directly to the GPS pad. Works.
