HimGetDeviceData - MDA II, XDA II, 2060 ROM Development

Help! I've been trying to change the vendor on my XDA II. I've downloaded the RUU_V1.1.OrangeUK_V3.66.... upgrade, copied the HimGetDeviceData to my mobile but the program won't run! I can't get the device info to change the vendor to Orange. Can anyone advise please?
(This site is frequently unabailable so could you reply with your solution to [emailĀ protected] please?)
ROM version: 1.72.00WWE
ROM date: 03/15/04
Radio version: 1.17.00
Protocol version: 1337.28
ExtROM version: 1.72.181

I got this program "HimaGetDeviceData.exe" V1.2.0.0 in my XDAII. When I execute the program, it did not give any respond to me (It suppose to create a "DeviceDatat.txt")......
Any idea to overcome this problem and to get the device data of my XDAII????
Thanks in advance

DeviceDatat.txt is probably in the \windows directory and not in the directory where you've started it

4 Execute HimaGetDeviceData.exe on your device. There will be no visible indication that it has run, but it will produce a file called DeviceData.txt in the Windows folder of the device.

Copy the generated file to your PC (via ActiveSync) and open withnotepad. Toy will have to maximise the window to see the detail.

Thanks for all your helps..........
I got the solution....

How to open new ROMs (like ITA) with ER2003Edit

Hi,
just a tip for opening the latest ROM files with ER2003Edit:
ER2003Edit has a file type selector in the file open box which is by default set to autodetect.
in autodetect mode ER2003Edit tries all encryption passwords it knows for any type of ROM (NK,Radio,ms_)
when using autodetect mode and your ROM does not get detected and you enter the correct password manually, you will receive an "Error accessing image files" message
To prevent this message choose the correct type of ROM (ms_.nbf) from the file type selector of the file open dialog and enter the password
ER2003Edit can open and edit all types of ROM files now in order to let you change the language and device type settings (to prevent country code error)
Tip: Opening ROM files is always faster when you do not use autodetect mode!
BTW here are the passwords for the ITA-Rom:
ms_.nbf: 0x20040305
nk.nbf: 0x20040304
radio_.nbf 0x20040306
A new version of ER2003Edit will have these passwords built in, but I currently do have no time for a new release just to include the passwords.
Enjoy!
fantastic
thank you very much
Works
Thanks
Softworks, are the the old passwords hardcoded into the app?
I reckon on your next update, maybe you could just make the app read an XML (or text, whatever) file with the passwords. So you can easily just add passwords in the future onto the text without having to recompile a newer version.
Also, since when talking about XDAII files, we're only talking about 3 filenames which never change. Maybe you could make a load process to simply check the filename which has been opened and use the corresponding "file process" to open it. Sort of like instead of autodetect when you open files. Have a simple check that checks wether one clicked either of the 3 files, then have a script that mimmicks selecting manually the filetype instead of "autodetect." That should eliminate the "nuances" of opening files (especially helpful for us n00bs hehe)
Cheers,
Carlo
Sorry, Iwould like to ask how / where to find the password of the images?
Thanks!

Cant find them either.... Please help
See here:

Here is a patched version of ER2003Edit.exe that has the new 3 passwords. Auto detection now works.
Just unzip then copy it over installed ER2003Edit.exe usually found in
C:\Program Files\softworkz\ER2003Edit\ER2003Edit.exe

Hi!
Thanks. It works.
PDA: O2 XDA II
ROM Version: 2.06.00WWE
Radio Version: 1.18.00
ExtROM Version: 1.12.924WWE (from IIs)
OS: Windows Mobile 2003 Second Edition
OS Version: 4.21.1088 (Build 14132)
Any reason I am getting shcksum errors?
I chenaged the content of ms_.nbf save it, and tried to flash it, but I gor error 122 - checksum error?
Any known reason for that?
Looks like I am out of my depth but its worth a try
I have a blueangle and have worked out that there are more tools on in Himalaya than for us.
I have further worked out that the upgrade works in the same way.
So I would think that this tool does, Well I am either wrong or just dumb.
Is my undersatnding correct that this application would only have the paswords for the at that time Known rom realeases.
Is my understanding that even with a password out of a xda3nbtool this toll will not work if you add it in the dialog.
Thus I seem to find that if I fill in the device name, op and lang as well as pasword I fail, same is true if leave them blank.
Please help me out or point me in the correct direction
Thanks

Adding programs to rom image

I now have a select few programs i use with my XDA II (sprite, Informant etc etc) which i would like to incorporate into a rom image for when i hard reset my XDA II. I also want to remove all the 02 stuff as i use the phone in Spain.
ER2003edit can do this from what i can see, but i would like to get the exact rom image of what i have already as it works fine.
any links much appreciated.
PS is there a program to make the files i want to auto install into cabs ?
1.66.00WWE

1.10.00
1337.18
1.66.181

You can get the original extended ROM (that is on your XDA at the moment) from http://www.my-xda.com/downloads/xda2_upgrade_download.html
Open it in ER2003Edit and remove everything apart from:
Broadcast_WWE.sa.CAB
CameraRC132_WWE_1.5.sa.CAB
OEM_WWE_04021801.CAB (might not need this, not sure)
Version_AKU1.sa.CAB
Everything else you can get rid of if you want, things like TaoJava might be useful though.
As far as getting the CAB files for any apps you want to install, that's easy. First, install the app from your PC to your Pocket PC. Then on your PC go to c:\program files\Microsoft Activesync\ and there should be a folder for every app you've ever installed. Copy the CAB file (or the CAB file with ARM in the name if theres more than one) into the ROM.
Remember to update the Config.txt file in the ROM after you've done all this.
thanks for the detailed reply, everything seems clear enough.
The only problem though is the rom version i have is different to the one posted on the web site, and would really like to stick to this version as it runs flawlessly. the rom i need is :
1.66.00WWE
02/20/04
1.10.00
1337.18
1.66.181
thanks

ALPINE (Qtek 2020i) flash "Country ID Error"

Hello,
please, please I need help
for flash AlpineĀ“s ROM. I tryied 4 different ROMs for flash my device and always detects "Error 120: Country ID Error".
Flashing by way of xda2nbftools with XOR codes of Alpines ROMs not worked - control checksum errors.
Regards
You should use an executable that does not check country ID. MaUpgradeUt_noID.exe is the file you are looking for. Run your ROM upgrade program. At the point when you face the country ID error under a directory (sth like this: C:\Documents and Settings\Your Name\Local Settings\Temp\A funny named directory) you will find 6 files. Before cancelling the upgrade copy them to another safe directory (after cancelling all will be deleted automatically) and cancel the upgrade. Replace HimUpgrade.exe with the file I attached in that safe directory. Put the alpine in bootloader mode and cradle it. Then run this file (MaUpgradeUt_noID.exe). First it will fail then in the second time it should work.
Thank you very well,
your method is correct.
Now i have:
Radio: 1.03.00
Ext.ROM: 1.11.144 WWE
ROM: 1.11.00 WWE
Protokol: 1337.42
HRomek, is this firmware from I-mate PDA?
voln, no it is firmware from i-mate PDA2 (ALPINE).
that really works. thanks a lot

SX56 Ringtone Changing

Hi I am having a problem using ringtones that I downloaded from the microsoft website (the free ringtone packages). I tried following the instructions (connecting the phone to ActiveSync dragging the .wma files over to /Windows/Rings/) I can see the files using file commander but in Add a Ringtone it won't show up and in the phone settings it doesn't show up either. Also I looked at one of the ringtones in the drop-down list if Add Ring Tone (RecEnd.wav) and I tried searching for it on the computer in My Windows Mobile Based device and I couldn't find the file anywhere on the phone! There might be like a hidden folder that I can't see or something where I'm supposed to put it. Anyways if you have any ideas please help me!! I don't want to be stuck with using the standard ringtones. Here's my phone info if it helps:
-About-

Version 3.0.12039 (Build) 11178)
