[novice] how to upgrade to ROM in another language - MDA II, XDA II, 2060 ROM Development

I own a Qtek2020 with a french ROM (1.72.02) and I would like to upgrade this one to an English ROM. I already tried but the soft returns a LANGUAGE ID error because the new ROM language ID is WWE while the old one is FRA. Is there really no mean to perform this upgrade?
Thanks a lot for your help and advices.

basically it is the same problem/solution as the country code error
so if you follow this
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=12101&start=0
it should work

HOW can i change language in XDA2?

Hi
i have XDA from GERMANY but i can't use it i need english version or polish, so how can i change full language of my new XDA2. how to change rom etc...
the rom is where the language is
if you want to change language you need to change rom
and not sure if you can get a polish rom
ms havent really localized windows CE for that many languages
thank's a lot. can you post a link where i can find info about changing rom and rom file of course. i'm newbe at this forum and i didn't find i t yet.
if you cant just upgrade using the exe upgrade then this guide show you how to
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/wiki/HimalayaRomFlashing
maybe people found an easier way and dident tell me who knows
Or just download the rom of your choice, use er2003edit to modify it, and you are good to go. And you also have the forum search button, a lot of posts covering this already...

it's mean there is exe file for upgrade rom with WM2003 english?
yes but some people get country code and device code issues with it if their device is localized to another country then the upgrade

or

Sorry I a bit confused, I too will be buying a German XDA and want to change it to English, but I want to make sure there is nothing else I should worry about, so if I change the ROM does that mean its like the same as a English version.
From:
"yes but some people get country code and device code issues with it if their device is localized to another country then the upgrade"
I am confused with:
What are these issues?
What does happens if the device is localised to another country other then the upgrade?
Sorry for my stupid questions.

Change Rom Language from Chinese Language to English Languag

Hi,
Last week I bought O2 Xda II (IMEI:351938003270010) from Taiwan and this product include Rom Chinese Language which is difficult for me to understand. So would any one please tell me if it is possible to change this Rom language from Chinese to English Language and if that possible how can I do that?
Pleassssssssse heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeelp meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
we can trade, I don't mind mine in Chinese
Thanks baboyako, for replay put I still want to know How can I change the Language.
:?:
the language can only be changed by changing to a rom of the desidered langauge
Thanks Rudegar, and I agree with you that the best way to change language it can be by changing the rom, but I heard there was some people upgraded their O2xd II by other Language like from German or France Language to English Language.
So, I am look forward to hearing good news about this subject.
by changing the rom
or
by 3th party software which
1. hack the rom replace the hardcoded text in it to text of another language
2. capture text when display'd and translate it to the other language ?
the 1. would require the hack to know all texts in the rom and possibly all programs in the extented rom aswell
2 would also have to know all the texts to have translations ready and it would require extre cpu time making the device slower
are you sure they just dident upgrade their xda to a rom with a different language ?
it does sound much easier
Thanks Rudegar,
And I am very happy to charring me this problem, and about your qustion, last week I tried with my friend to upgraded my O2 xda II by English Language (UK) rom upgrade, but did not worked and always gave us massage Error Code 120.
Regard to a 3th party software is not free and I will try to buy it as soon as possible.
and do you Know any other free program can help for changing language instead of 3th party software and do you know some one has an experience at the same problem?
I've done that job serveral times. Just get the ROM you want, use ER2003 to modify it then install.
if it's the country code error then this thread is about that

decmpress the file you got from t-mobile, delete HimaUpgradeUt.exe and use the HimaUpgradeUt.exe included in this post
Still the same Prob
I tried as you said but i have still the problem with the Country code.
strange, this cracked HimaUpgradeUt.exe worked fine for my Qtek2020.
You might also try to patch the origional german rom to be suitable for your device.
There is good tutorial in the xda-developers wiki:
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/wiki/HimalayaRomFlashing
Or you can use the Windows Mobile 2003 - ROM Editor by softworkz
Need X(M)DA 2 T- mobile German ExRom
I thonk i found a solution for my Prob, if i erase my exRom und replace it with an original MDA 2 ExRom.
Can sombodyshare his Rom please!!!!!

People have been trying to do that for years! :LOL
You need to flash an english rom on your device. Read the upgrading FAQs:

change language to Spanish? without changing rom. any ideas?

hi. for me is impossible change hspl. and want change language to spanish. Anyone have any a other idea how to change. my phone is titan at&t wp 7.5
thanks
You have to go: Menu>Settings>Language and region>and in window "Interface language" change to Spanish and softreset device. Or if you haven't Spanish language in the list you have to use CabSender and *.cab with Spanish language.

You have to download the speciality file with language (search in the post - Spanish is there).

You have to download and install file for your language (Spanish) links above.

hi, i have titan 1 and 2, and and I could not. firt error 801812c1, next error 80070013, now error 80180015. I've tried everything. and i cant.
lucky for you
AT&T branded Titan stock Cingular rom only comes with one language and that is US English. To get spanish language you need to flash stock rom that comes with the spanish language like the stock Euro roms. For AT&T Titan 1, you can flash stock Euro rom using a gold card (RUU doesn't work as it will come up with "Invalid vendor"). If you are successful with this and wants custom rom then proceed with flashing dft spl and hspl.
Unfortunately for Titan 2 there is no stock rom available in the market so you are stuck with your current phone set-up
