xda2 dead - MDA II, XDA II, 2060 ROM Development

hi all,
my xda 2 is dead, please help. basically i was updating the rom and when it finished updating the machine doesnt boot. all i can see is serial on the black screen. can any one tell me what to do?
thanks in advance.
munna

Try to flash the device from SD card.

This happened to me on my PDA2K once. I restarted my computer and attached the PDA again in cradle. and then did the ROM update again and it worked. Before it was showing same serial with black screen on PDA and if i put that on cradle it says usb.

I had the same problem.

Xda II will not reflash

Hi,
My XDA II was up and running until I wanted to flash it with Wm2003se.
I not sure if the battery is fading out or what but the flash didn't conplete and I am left with the "serial 1.06 boot screen" I have tried numerous times of taking out the battery, letting everthing drain out and trying again. but it still goes back to the serial screen. Also activesync won't recognize the device and Windows XP picks it up as "Unknown Device". When I try and reflash it, I get the "communication error". Could someone dump thier Rom and/or instruct me on how to flash my device using my SD card?? Or if there is another way to revive my XDA II, I am open to anything. Thanks!!
Shane

Come on....Somebody help us, we have a crisis club going on here!!!
did u guys follow all the intructions in upgrading the rom?
try this
disable activesync by ctrl+alt+del and kill wcescomm.exe by end process
make ur phone in bot screen
put ur phone in the cradle(with the power supply, so that ur bat will not drain).
usb should be in the display and not serial
make sure the 3 files(ms_ , radio_ , and nk) are in the same folder with himaupgrade.exe
run himaupgrade.exe
Wait about 5 processes i think. after the pc will let u know if it is done... get ur xda from the cradle and hard reset it (power button+reset button)...
if it doesnt work still im sory, im just a newbie, i just did mine.... maybe u should read more...

I assume you did a hard reset?? In the past three days I have gone from Windows Mobile 2003 >>> Windows Mobile 5 >>> back to Windows Mobile 2003 SE (SIN's magic version available here on XDA-Developers) which I like best of all (for many reasons, mainly speed and reliability). As someone else stated, you need to put it in the cradle AFTER deleting the old profile in ActiveSynch on the PC. Oh, and make sure you are using ActiveSynch 4 or higher. This is now available from Microsoft's site.

Xda 11 (o2) In Boot Cannot Upgrade

XDA 2 (no sim in phone at present) downloaded latest rom from O2 site. Coonected phone via cradle directly to PC and ran the utility, it finds the phone and the says your phone will be updated to version and has three new versions listed (current versions are all shown as blank) click continue and then machine sits and hangs and it the says error 112 and suggests resetting phone and trying again but the same continues to circle around.
Phone still shows usb v1.03 and cannot do anything to get out of it.
Please can any response be in plain english as i am not too much of a techy.
Any help greatly appreciated though and your knowledge is accepted but mine is less.
Matt
Can you get any of the WM5/6/6,1 ROMs to install? You may just have a faulty original ROM

Bootloader 1.03? Can you do me a favour, can you take the battery out of the back of your device, and look at the sticker under where the battery goes (on the device).
What does it say? PH10A, PH10B etc
VERSION
Ph10b Is The Number Under The Battery
*bump*
I'm having exactly the same problem, and would desperately like to try and find a solution.
I'm suspecting it's a device communication problem, as the screen showing what CD iimage version is currently on the device is listed as blank.
Once it gets to the screen where it says that the device is about to be erased before installing the update, nothing happens on the XDA 2 at all - so I imagine that it's not talking back to the computer to say "erase me".
Edit:
Problem fixed. The cause of the problem was Windows Vista. I connected the cradle to a laptop running a fresh install of XP, and was able to successfully install the upgrade ROM.

Failure flashing latest WM6.5 - help required

Hi All - I am a nooby so please can you advise me on process, as I don't want to brick my HTC Touch Cruise 2
I got the latest English WM6.5 ROM from Billabong, and am trying to flash over USB. (note: I dumped my original ROM using pdocread earlier).
Device is on USB, ActiveSync
When CustomRUU is run, phone goes into 3 stripe screen, then hear a beep as windows plug and play drops the connect, then:
3 stripe screen shows 'USB" at bottom, and windows beeps again showing USB plug and play back up.
Both RUU and the phone then show the status bar at 0% for 5 minutes plus....but it never progressed, stays stuck on 0%
Then RUU says the "ROM update utility has encountered communications errors" and advises on the recovery...which works fine, I can boot to my original firmware (6.1) which means no update took place.
What am I doing wrong? I have seen stuff about HardSPL which needs to be run first? What is that, and must I really do that?
If I can't update over USB, I saw there are methods via SD? Can someone advise on that process. Preferably without bricking the phone!

[Q] URGENT HELP NEEDED! Stuck on Red, Green, Blue and White screen

Hello everyone, I just join here tonight after finding this site through google. I have been reading hours through the threads. Very interesting reading however I still could not find a solution for my problem.
I did a factory reset on my HD2 and now all that happens when I start the phone is a red, green, blue and white screen. It does not load to the windows mobile screen anymore.
On the red part of the screen it says:
PB81100 HX-BC
SPL-1.42.0000 XE
MicroP (LED) 0X05
MicroP (TOUCH) 0X40
The green and blue stripes have no text on them but the white stripe has "serial" on it.
I am confused why this had happened, any help to fix this problem will be much appreciated. Thank you.
Hello sir, and welcome on XDA.
- Try this take out your battery
- revert beck your battery without restarting your device
- hold volume down and volume UP press in follow by a short press on the power button.
- you will see your 4color screen shortly and then a grey screen with blue text.
- Press volume up to restore your device.
Try this and let us know.
Hi Kurt Willems, thanks for the reply however this method did not resolve the problem. Still the red, green, blue and white screen appears.

Did it get stuck somewhere ore did you saw all the posses like I mention but after the restart you cam's automatically back into the 4 color screen?
Do you recall what your original rom was? If you plug your device into usb port on pc, does serial change to usb? If so, I suggest reinstalling your original rom.
Yes I followed your instruction exactly, still the same striped screen.

Well like ClydeB1 mentioned, get YOUR stock ROM, connect your device to your pc and reinstall the stock ROM (At least if your device will connect)

Hi ClydeB1, I cannot remember exactly what the rom name was, I think it started 4... I read some threads and tried some methods such as downloading the HD2 rom from the hTc website via entering my S/N number. Then I put that on the SD card and updated it using 7-zip.. changing the file name to "leoimg...." after a minute of updating the phone reboot and said it had an error, it reboot again and completed the update. But still i am faced with the striped screens.

Hi, how do I get my stock rom? When I connect the usb cable to the phone it automatically shows this striped screen on the phone. The phone does not sync with the computer. I believe the phone was set to storage card when connected to the pc. But i cannot access the storage card via the phone. I access the storage card using a multi card reader.

When you download from the HTC site, you'll get an exe file. You can try to run it from your pc, connect device to pc (still in bootloader screen ie striped screen) when serial changes to usb then run the exe file.
If that doesn't work then Right click and extract the exe file to your pc. Then take the RUU_signed.nbh file, rename that to LEOIMG.nbh and copy to root of sd card (formatted to FAT32). Then flash as you described.

I tried to connect using usb cable, when I connect it on the bootloader screen the white stripe goes from "serial" to no text just white stripe. I ran the ROM downloaded from hTc site, but when it comes up with an connectioin error.
I am running Windows 7, I could not find a Windows Mobile Sync that's compatible with Windows 7. I tried the RUU_signed.nbh file, renamed to LEOIMG.nbh and copied to root of sd card - formatted to FAT32 but at first it updates then restarts after a minute. It says there's an error, it restarts again and continues with the update and everything says "ok" but when I restart it when the update is finished, still I have the bootload screen?

Try moving your usb cable to a new port, preferably one at the rear of your pc ie with direct link rather than one at the front or a hub.
The sync software for Windows 7 is Windows Mobile Device Centre, but you won't be able to make a connection if you're in bootloader mode.

I did what you said by inserting usb cable into a different usb port. It started installing the driver "QUALCOMM CDMA TECHNOLOGIES MSM" Now on the white stripe it says "USB".
So I ran both "RUU_Leo_HTC_WWE_1.48.405.2_Radio_Signed_15.28.50.07U_2.05.51.05_2_Ship"
AND
"RUU_Leo_S_HTC_WWE_3.14.405.2_Radio_15.42.50.11U_2.15.50.14_LEO_S_Ship"
But after about 8% it turns red and says error. On the phone it says "Upgrade ROM code error Please try again" on the green stripe.

Yes, this is correct. When I enter my S/N number in the hTc website it gives just the one option to download "ROM UPGRADE FOR HTC HD2". This is the ROM i'm using, I am correct in assuming this is my stock ROM?

I can't see from distance what's going wrong, but based on the fact you have/use a correct stock ROM based on your S/N and you have try both installation possibilities (over ActiveSync and over SD-card) and both failed
I'm out of Idea for the moment.

I appreciate the help everyone has given me so far, thanks. Still I am having no luck getting it to load up to the windows mobile screen.
I bought this phone used, It came unlocked. When It was loading properly it appeared unbraded as there were no network carrier logos on start up screen. I am not sure if this phone is factory unlocked or was locked to a carrier.
Should I try the T-mobile ROM on it? Also I have been reading the treads trying to find a solution for the past 7 hours now LOL. I had read that this phone can run WP7 and Android.
Will i be able to get the phone working on any of those OS without having to put the WM6.5 stock ROM on it? Or do I need the stock rom for this phone to work to make the other OS to work?

- Yes you can use/install Android or even WP7 on this device.
- but first of all we need to set it working again.
Ow, I just think about one thing. When you flashed over your SD-card witch SD-card dit you used? (size)
Most recommendation are the 2GB.
8GB and bigger gives some trouble.

Mozart De-brand issues...

Hi all
I am trying to de-brand my Orange UK Mozart. I got the de-brand kit from fonefunshop.co.uk.
I've followed the instructions on the video they posted. But the phone rebooted multiple times during the update and eventually failed with an error message.
I've tried putting a different ROM on the SD card, but the mozart screen displays a message no image file. I have renamed the ROM to MOZAIMG.nbh.
I now have a phone that only goes to bootloader and only displays Enter USB Host Mode...
Using the normal USB cable, I've looked that the ROMUpdateUtility, but for some reason the phone isn't being detected by Windows 7, so I can not connect to the device. Any ideas anyone? What should I try next?
Help!
I also purchased the cable and goldcard from Fonefunshop.co.uk. Received mine at 07.30 this morning and was updated and completed by 07-45. Mine also rebooted numerous times but flashed successfully. I then did the pre NO-DO update via zune and then put the NO-DO update on the sd card supplied and flashed that with no probs. if you think that the supplied nbh is corrupt let me know and ill help if i can. If you remove the battery and re insert it can you then start the phone by holding the volume down and camera button again ?

Hi Brain,
I gave up with the fonefunshop.co.uk supplied SD card. I resolved my issue by creating my own goldcard and using a ROM that I downloaded from here.
Here are the steps I took (unfortunately it requires the use of an Andriod phone).
