Hello everybody.
As this is my first post here, I want to thank all of you for the great source of inspiration this site gives!
After reading a lot about newer ROM Versions here, I am a bit confused what I can / should flash my MDA2 to.
The reason for my desire to change my software version is, that I'm unlucky with the bad Bluetooth support my current Radio Stack offers.
The Bluetooth Tools are no real answer, neither - because it sucks my battery out in the worst kind of way. (Bluetooth always activating after every call I make, having to deactivate Bluetooth manually, other weird dysfunctional diseases like irresponsive behaviour
I read here, that there is currently no 1.72 ROM available for german devices. So, to specify my question, what newer version then 1.60.07 can I upgrade my MDA 2 to - and, will it bring sort of releave to my Bluetooth pains?

EDIT:
I just installed the 1.72 ROM and got rid of my Bluetooth probs. Unfornatunately, my MDA2 speaks English with me now (suprise, suprise *lol*).
Not that I had a problem with that, but it would be nicer if there was a way to only use the Radio Stack from 1.72 in conjunction with the old T-Mobile 1.60.07 ROM.
Is there anyone who can comment on that?

They all do now. You may need to do a soft-reset once when plugged into a USB charger to make it work.

OR it can be charged if it has been connected with activesync before it's been pluged into the cigarette-charger plug
I'm using the PDAViet 4.0.0.1 at the moment... So far so good...
PDAMobiz fast, reliable, safe battery, etc.... so it's the best so far

they keep developing the Fantastic with the new b4, you will be "touch" the look but no feel of HTC touch. (thanks to xda-developers, especially, .mUn. (mun_rus) and Mr.Vi)
the now version is b3
and next version is b4
and end version (of this year) is X
then Fantastic will step to FANTASTIX ...
thanks to all who concern with this great project surely, never forget 200 Spartans (Beta Testers and co-developers).

Not even major or minor error but "PDAMobiz" is error free.
I's using for a week without headache.
New WM6 BT Stack, does it incorporated in the PDAMobiz?
I'm using PDAViet 0.3 and after using it for few weeks, I have not encountered any significant problem.
I would like to ask you guys who use the PDAMobiz, do you know if the ROM has the new WM6 BT stack or still the old one from WM5 AKU 2.x or 3.x
We discuss it here, the BT Stack from WM6 indeed improves the A2DP sound quality much better/close to perfect.

I'm using PDAViet ROM. and it quite stable. but I did install and re install for about 2 or 3 times. but withinthis month, never. so It's quite stable. But If it's any ROM that more stable from this one, I really wanted to know.

The most stable ROM's ever is the MWG Atom Life ROM. TM2's rom adds a lot of features. But they have their own bugs and downfalls. Medkid's ROM's were very good. Neat, Light and fast. But not too many features.
what about best WM 6.1 rom for Atomlife??
Also what is the download location of mwg atom life rom that shipped with the device. the one on the webpage is older from what i heard

the only MWG ROM available is at their website. Yes there are newer WinMO versions, but they all are cooked by members of XDA.

i can't make a call but SMS is OK also i can hear a voice from a program voice of a telecom company provider?only when i make a call to somebody in a few seconds call will disconected and also i cant hear the voice of someone i was calling??thanks a lot!!!

If youre using a globe sim card, try to upgrade your atom life, theres an update to fix this issues. atom life got an issue with globe prepaid sim card, especially if youre still using the old version. unfortunately, only wm6 is the official release. or you can try the cooked roms made in this forum.

Ah thanks kabayan..hehe..ok n ung probs ko..tama ka hindi nga working ung globe sim..khit ma-upgrade pa..salamat!!!
Now i'm what you techy lot on here would call a noob when it comes down to a wm5 phone, Namely the hp ipaq rw6815 don't get me wrong it's quite a good phone but, I like to try and improve things and was looking at the 6.xx cooked roms for this hand set and found a problem which one to have????
Now this is where you good folk come into this little dilema, I tried ariey's 6.5 rom, and I have to admit it was pretty good but I had the usual problems with the camera and bluetooth and every other bloody problem you could have so, I decided to do away with the rom and went back to hp's original this has happened with several of the roms posted on this site now my question is this which of the cooked roms out there is the most stable without the pains of the camera, bluetooth, handset slow down etc etc etc ???
If you believe you can help forget the a team drop me msg or reply and hopefuly my litte ipaq won't need to be retired to the great phone dump many thanks mike

Actually I'm searching a WM6.1 perfectly working and stable rom. I came from Arhon (Pda-hack) WM6.0 and it was perfect very stable with no problems (only thing was to patch camera). I tried many WM6.5 roms but all have the bluetooth problem you cannot add more than 2 devices (but the best was AndyAinda version 2 or 3).
Tryout the RW6828 ROM's by Helloworld1. These are very stable.
Camera does not work out of the box (for the RW6815) but there is an .cab file around here that solves the problem. Search for "pda-hack.net_hp_rw6815_camera_patch_wwe.CAB"
Also the ROMS by NHOCBANME are very stable but with more software on board (only useful software) the ROMS by Helloworld1 are like HP could have made them.
There are a lot more but in my opinion these are the two best ROM makers. But I would say, try them all and see what's best for you're self.
Don't expect any update on the ROM cause the RW68xx is already fairly old (but for it's age still very good, better as the Diamond 1 I use at the moment. For resistive screen it's the best i ever had the only thing is that it has no GPS otherwise I would not use that Diamond anymore and go back to my good-old RW6815)

in all the ROM-threads we talk about the different radio-versions. As call quality has been THE major issue on our device I decided to make up a new thread only for radio. Hope it is ok..
I`m using Novembre5 german rom #1 with radio 5005.1600.05. The complaints about" I can´t hear you..." seem to increase in comparison to the official toshiba Swiss ROM I used before. I`m using german vodafone network, dk if its important.
Maybe we can compare our experiences with the different radios to help our great cooks to implement the"perfekt" radio for our TG01..

I guess it will depend were you are. I have tried most of the roms that had been posted here. For the purpose of testing the call quality I spent about two hours trying the roms. The original problem I had with this is the person the other end sometimes can not here me properly. A problem I did not have since I upgraded to the official toshiba rom 6.5.0. When I had november's 6.5.5 rom running to my surprise i had a worst call quality, the qualityon both sides was bad. So I tested the different roms and as a result the radio from the official toshiba upgrade is the best one for me. I am in the UK so it might be a different case with other people on other country.
And just a note the radio version that everyone is using now is originaly release for china so it might not be design for other countrys network. I guess!
Also I have posted this in a couple of threads and aragon said that he can do a tool to easily change the radio on roms. I hope it materials. so thubs up from me.
Just to add. Im using aragon's TG01 Debranded Orange UK - 6.5.0 ROM v0.010 which works perfect for me at the moment. loads of space for program and ram after installing all my apps especially for call quality issue.

so maybe we, the "european" users, should vote for an 6.5.5-ROM with the official UK-Radio. Or, if aragon gets an "easy-radio-update-tool" to work, we might be able to do it ourselves...
It seems that FFBOY radio layer is better, that what I can see, but it's not easy, because all ROM works well, with some diffenreces.... No need of SRSWOW with ffboy's ROM.

I'm from Romania this means from Europe here only work the latest Hong Kong radio driver 5005.1600.05 the other one from official UK keep getting problems in call quality.
Do i get that right: there seems to be no easy answer to the question: which is the best radio? Cant believe it, but my technical knowledge is maybe much too low for that. The "Easy-radio-update-tool" might be a possibility for every single user to find the radio that works best for him and in his country/network. So hopefully a tool like that will appear sometime in the future.

What country of you used
I use WM 6.1, but only chinese version... i don't understand nothing, but....... radio works perfectly in my country. it's the first time, when my phone works good, when i am talking with somebody... you can find this rom in the ffboys rom link (somewhere in last posts there is a link for 6.1)I AM VERY SORRY FOR MY BAD ENGLISH

Strange. I've been using ffboy's Sense Rom with 5005.1600.05 radio and my call quality is worse. Loads of people here are saying it was better for them. Mind you, it was the same story with the original 6.5 update. Loss of people had problems, but others swore blind that it was perfect for them, with some even suggesting that we must have had a bad batch with a unique hardware fault. I think it's fair to say I ruled that out. I've had 8, some of them refurbs, but the last two were brand new replacements. They were all the same for me. A couple of people suggested it was more to do with varying quality in beteen gsm or 3g areas of network coverage.
One thing I noticed that helped sometimes was to change the volume slider up or down and for some strange reason, the other caller would say that it was better, but then it would get bad again after a few minutes. I once tried dialing my own number and leaving a message on my own voicemail to see what was happening and I discovered that the sound started breaking up particularly at the point when the screen turns off shortly after the start of the call. Anyone else noticed that?

Has anyone had problems with 5005.1700.05?
i had big problems with the 1700 radio. So i had to go back on a rom with a 1600 radio.
I tried 1600 radio version it is not that good. My friend can hear heavy echoing and the time for phone to response is too slow(in my case 20 secs later). WM6.1 has much better radio quality.
I used Japanese version of tg01, when flashed Uk rom radio dont changed, how to change radio for this version ? plz help me, this radio version is really suck (sorry my bad english)

No frequency related, those(&many others) are radio software versions (generally fitted to certain ROM versions, depending on country?!), so far nobody knows precisely differences between them...
