Hi.
I have an HBH-660 Akono which shows Caller ID (number) but not the name.
Was anyone able to make this work properly. Why isn't it working?
Thanks in advance,
Joao Caldeira
Wish I could get the number mine just shows the handset symbol. Someone mentioned that the name will only show up if the # is in you're contacts don't know for sure since mind does not work period on the display.
:?
Hi.
The number shows correctly, but I would like to see the name - even if I have it on memory/contacts the headset display just shows the number.
I can't remind of all my contact's number ...
What's your versions? (BT, radio, etc...)

Same problem for me...only the hanset symbol, nothing more...even when I have names and numbers in my contact database. It was the display feature which finally helped me to decide for this HS.
So if anybody as figured it out, let us know
Ronald
What is your headset's version?
My box says "Packaged 04w39"...
Joao Caldeira
I will check when I'm back home
cheers Ronald
Hi ,
I just checked for you...my HBH 660 has a package no. of 04W50 so seems newer than yours.
But I found out today (from another thread). That when a call comes in, if you press the volume key (+/-) you will actually see the Calling number (not the name ...)
So progress here...Still a little strange that you have to press buttons to see the number.
My wife has the same headset (actually she lost it in the snow yesterday ), but that one worked with Calling number and name, without pressing buttons on her SE Z600 phone... So maybe out QTEK BT stack is still messing some essentials to get this info passed to the headset.??
Anybody who has it working with name (and without pushing buttons?)
Thnx
Ronald

I found a bug: when I receive a call with "PRIVATE" or "UNKNOWN" the heaset show the last number that called me...

hello again.
i dont really remember if atom exec had the same issue with WM5.....
now i have jiggs latest rom
and i noticed that when a friend makes me a very short term call the number doesnt show up instantly......so if the caller hangs out too early the number of the missed call is shown as ''Uknown''
p.s. let me explain what i mean short call......here in greece when we want to just notify someone that we are thinking of him/her we just ring his phone once and then hung the line.
or in other occasions when we are going to meet each other at a certain place certain time we make that type of call to notify we are there
is there any solution to the problem?
Yup, same here. Unknown for the few seconds and the real caller no will display afterward. If we using call filter such as CallFirewall and we put some contact to be filter, the caller still get through due to it only filter the first display 'unknown' not the no. we assigned in the list.
bump.
if now there is no solution can i at least hope that jiggs and other rom cookers will try and search a bit about the problem?
thnx in advance fellas
I have the same issue with my Atom as well. Original WM5.
yeah, me too with original wm5
it's annoying
Dummpp....
there is an OLLLd solution for that! And works just great.
It is called: SMSDrFix
(there is a wm5 version that also works flalessly on a wm6 device)
Just install it, configure it (it is a program), reset the device and youre done!
cheers
Where can we find it...please help
Here it goes chap..
But I think this solves something else.. like when you send a SMS and you receive delivery report. Then it shows only the mobile number in the report. what it does is pick up the name of the person from the address book and show the name instead of the mobile number.
So I am not sure if it works for short missed calls or not. for short missed calls ATOM can't sense the mobile number for some reason. That's why shows unknown..
Anyway... have fun...
Regards,
Hi all,i just upgraded a friend's prophet to wm 6.1...everything works fine, except for one strange problem:when he call some operator (vodafone) number (to check remaining minutes for promotions and stuff like that) the numbers pressed on the dialer (to select the various options) haven't any effect.
The number appears on the screen, but it's not "received" by the remote recorded tape.
Any idea about the cause?
Thanks for help

1. try to activate the DTMF support from the tweak software - Advance Config.,
2. you should post your question to the thread of your rom.......
3. Good luck.
Thanks for answering,i checked in Advanced config, but DTMF is enabled already...i'll try to ask in the rom's thread
edit:i just tried to disable the DTMF...and it works! strange behaviour, but it works, that's all
I have searched for this and found the same question posted in a HD2 Android category, but there were no responses... so asking for myself in here.
I have all my phone numbers listed in my contacts with the preceeding area code, as I often travel outside of the local area and need those area codes included in my contacts numbers..... ie: all my phone numbers are 10 digits in length.
However, there doesn't seem to be a requirement for the area code to be sent, when a caller has Caller-ID enabled. In other words, I receive some calls from contacts in my phone, but if their phone doesn't include the area code in their Caller-ID, then my phone doesn't recognise or identify the number. Consequently, when hanging up from those calls, it constantly asks me if I want to save the number.
Note - it isn't a permanent thing. Many incoming calls DO identify correctly, as the area code has obviously been sent with C-ID.
Does anyone have a solution for this?
Obviously I COULD go thru every contact and manually add another non-area-coded phone number - perhaps under an obscure phonebook entry, like "pager"... but surely this is something that one would expect be handled automatically by the phone... not by duplicating entries as a work-around.
What would happen for business-people who travel internationally - most of their contacts would also include the "+61" (or whichever) country code also.....
Nobody ???
Bumping again ????
Anybody have any clues to this?
Did you try disabling the Area Code Prefix setting in Settings -> Call Settings ?

Thanx mate for your reply.
Sorry took so long.... my phone has been in for warranty repair (unrelated matter to this) for the last 7 weeks, so I haven't logged onto xda in that time !!!
No..... I haven't tried disabling the AC Prefix setting. I will have a look at that and see if it makes any difference.
One additional comment..... I am also having the REVERSE problem.... in that SOME people who ring me on their mobiles, the caller ID is also sending the +61 (Australia) country code in front of their mobile number too.... so again, my phone isn't recognising them as being the "same" number as what is stored in my phonebook ????
Will try the disable thing you mention and report if it works.
Sorry mate... cannot find the setting you mention.
Could you explain please exactly where it is ?

Or you could turn off having the phone ask to to add the number to your contacts.
On the US T-Mobile phone it is:
Activate phone screen
Menu
Options
Menu
Network Selection
Advanced tab
Turn off the feature to "Add new phone number to People at end of call"
I'm using the NRG ROM.
Thanks stevedebi.
Sorry - I mite not have been properly clear.
The issue isn't being asked to save a new number.
The issue is.... the phone does not recognise a number - mobile or landline - if there is an area-code or country-code prefixed to the number (or vice versa) with the entry in the phone book.
Eg: ALL my contacts saved in my phone have their mobile numbers WITHOUT the +61 country code.... and ALL landline numbers are saved WITH area-codes.
Now - depending on my contact's phone operators, they sometimes send with, or without, those prefixes in their caller ID's.
Consequently - on those occasions.... my phone does not recognise incoming calls or messages as having come from my contacts, due to the extra numbers at the beginning.
Surely this is a software issue from HTC? I mean, surely the software should be able to query an incoming called ID (either with or without prefixed-codes) with a saved number in the contacts/phonebook (with or without prefixed-codes)... ???
Bumping again ?
Sorry to be repetitive.... still looking for an answer to this ???
Check you registry setting for "HKCU\Control Panel\Phone\CalIidMatch" value=?!?
try to reduce the number for "Value" by 1 and try.
This is for the number of digits your phone will check when comparing incoming numbers with stored names.
Thanx Omar,
Will try that. Question though.... does it check the phone number (by number of digits) in reverse order? ie: setting a particular number will have no effect, if it checks in normal forward order, as it's PREFIXES that are making things wrong.... so the phone needs to ONLY check the LAST 10 digits.... not the first 10. This will eliminate the issue with any country-code added to the front of a number... but will not help with a local area code, as these are dependent on the callers' carrier, if they send the area code in the CID or not
From my experience with my HTC phones, it checks the last digits.
I have number saved with the +974 international code (for Qatar), & when local call come in, they only show the local format (without +974) & the caller ID still recognises the names. Our local numbers are 8 digits, so I have the registry value set at 7 or 8 & it works fine.
Greetings.
I've been using the SonyBread ROMS by paul-xxx in my X10 Mini Pro and they are great, but I am having an annoying problem with all versions:
when I receive a call from someone (who is already saved in my contacts list) the phone shows only the number, not the caller’s name.
This happens because here in Brazil I have to save the contact's number with the area code and the long distance operator number, but when someone calls the operator only informs the area code and the number.
Example:
Contact> John Doe
Number> 0-41-11-1234 5678
[meaning: 0-(long distance operator number)-(area code)-(John Doe's number)]
But when John calls the operator informs only 0-11-1234 5678 and then the phone doesn't associate this number with John's.
Before I started using custom ROMs this worked flawlessly. I could have whatever operator number stored in the contacts and the phone always could identify the caller.
I think it read the caller's number backwards and read only the first 10 digits...
Anyway, as this was working with the original firmware, maybe there is a way of extracting a file from the original ROM and overwriting it on the custom ROM.
Does anyone knows how to do this? Or even better, has someone any kind of solution for this bug?
Thanks in advance!
Try fixing the number to 0-41-11-1234 5678 instead of 0-11-1234 5678, just a try... My phone doesn't happens it...
replace in settings language

Hi, XxLordxX.
I went to Sao Paulo city this weekend and the phone did recognize some calling numbers.
The local numbers (Sao Paulo city's numbers) were working ok. The phone showed the number without any area code (1234-5678) and the caller's name appeared on the screen.
Now I've returned to my city (different area code) and the same caller from Sao Paulo was shown on the screen with the area code (011 1234-5678) and no name appeared.
In the example above the number stored in my phone was the complete version, with the operator number (0 41 11 1234-5678). So, the problem only happens when someone from another area code calls (80% of my calls).
And as I said before, this was working perfectly with the original firmware.
Very strange. Any ideas?

Hi paul-xxx.
Sorry, but I did not understand what you mean.
Anyway, I changed the language to English (United States) but the problem remains.
Any other idea?
Thanks.
PS: Your ROM is great, thank you very much for the work.
Guys, I have managed to solve this issue by removing the long distance operator code from all contacts and intalling a free app that inserts the programmed operator number at the moment of the call.
Now the phone is able to recognise all callers.
Thank you both for taking the time to help.
Cheers!
Hello,
after few years and 3 generations of iPhone I finally decided to change iOS to Android. So far I think it was good choice but I still need to get rid of few iOS habits and find solution for few problems. I've got Audi with RNS-E + bluetooth, My phone connects to car bluetooth without a problem. I can review phone book from car menu, check last dialed, missed calls etc. but when somebody calls me car, shows number instead of name from phone book. It used to work fine with iPhone. I suspect it might be something with country prefix. All my numbers in address book are stored with country prefix (+48...) but when somebody calls, I see number without country prefix. Or maybe it is something else... I'm not sure. Anybody else has similar problem or know solution?
Just to clarify; it does show the name instead of the number on your phone's screen regardless of whether you're peered to the car?
Only the car's display shows the number?

correct. Phone screen always shows name (peered with car or not). Car shows numbers only.
