XDA Pcmcia?

Hi.
I used to own a 5450 but I had to sell it in April to raise costs for the wedding. However, I have just picked up a new o2 Xda for £100 at work - but I miss the functionality that the ipaq offered with regards to expansion packs!
Is there anything on the market that would allow a pcmcia device to be attached to the Xda?
Thanks
No, there isn't. Yes, this is annoying.
still .... ive seen the ipaq with its expansion sleeve. You need a backpack to carry it!
thanks for the feedback. Just would be nice to have the Orinoco working with the Xda. Still shouldn't complain - blasted the xda with the special edition rom and that Orange sim card loves it's new home.
Besides the lack of exp packs - my first impression of the XDA? Why didn't I buy one sooner?
cheers

Hey guys..... 1/3/11 new tab?

i have ordered a folio 100 from HERE and they said on the phone that it might not be that model..... could this mean that the new Tablet will come around the date shown 1/3/11?
Lets hope so
I think they don't understand what it is they are stocking. I would be surprised if the case and TV stand are included, even more surprised if the android market is included out of the box. Both of these are included in the description/photo that they are providing. Are you happy this is a legit company you are dealing with?
Yeah the company is a massive catalogue company.... I hope they send a new Moslem lol

Hello,
this seams to be the same old Folio. I don't think android market will be available withou 3G option, maybe with another android version, but not with
Froyo.
Isn't it about time, the 3G version of the folio comes out?
If it has 3G (and GPS), then the market is also possible out of the box.
The leather case and stand are not included in my opinion, not for that price.

[Q] Any suggestion for handwriting notes?

I just bought the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1. Liked it so far...but couldn't find any good application that can replace my paper notebook. I am looking for application such as Bamboo Paper, Ghostwriter, Upad that are available on iPad. I was using it, but decided to give Honeycomb a try. Lack of such application could be deal breaker for me...I also liked to use Displaylink on ipad2 but i guess I'm out of luck in this case.
If I can't find a good note taking app by using a stylus to replace my paper, I guess I have to return to iPad! Any suggestions?
FreeNote, note everything
Note Everything
Have you tried the pad asp that came stock with touchwiz? Might be just what your looking for.

There's also "Handrite" "Genial Writing" "KakiMemo lite" and a few more when you look at the "uses who viewed this also viewed" area in Android market with your the browser.

zadukala, I am in the same bind as you. I moved from iPad to Galaxy Tab and use uPAD as a religion to jot notes.
I have pretty much tried all the "lite" version of the Handwritten notes but none comes close to the finish/polish of uPAD. Also e-mailed the uPAD guys, hope they will respond with a - coming soon.
Just heard back from uPAD
"Thank you for supporting UPAD.
We are sorry but we do not have a plan for Android yet.
If you have any further question, please contact us again.
We will do our best to offer you the better service.
Thank you so much.
Best Regards,
UPAD."

Writepad seems to have potential.

Asus Dock Cheap

Not sure who is in my area but I work at a Target store located in Harvey,LA. We got some of the Asus Dock Keyboards in, like 6 of them. They are sitting on clearance for 104.99
Seems like a good deal, I have the Acer Iconia A500, or I would get one for myself.

Lucky... I live in Michigan and I was just at 2 Target stores looking for other stuff. I did check for Transformer but neither stores had any tablet, dock, or keyboard. I do want to get the dock, both for extra battery life and keyboard.
We only a sale the transformer online. It was an accident that we got them in the store.

Do you happen to have the DPCI for it? That way we can check online to see if it's available in our area.
Thanks, OP!

Keyboard Case

I'm looking for a thumb keyboard case to work with my Note 3. Something small that I will be able to touch type with without looking at the keyboard. Does anyone know any that they trust aren't a crappy product?
I did find this one, but I want to be sure before I buy it. http://www.amazon.com/TOP®-Bluetooth-Removeable-Detachable-Portfolio/dp/B00FRDVXHO
Why wouldn't you just use 1 of one of the gazillions of keyboards and mice that are out there (bluetooth)?

I want one that fits the size of the Note specifically. Not just a random bluetooth keyboard for any phone.
and I'm talking about a really small thumb keyboard. Like those on the old Env's

I know right! I've already dented my phone because they're taking too long! Ughh the struggle
I would like a slider keyboard case for the Note. To turn it into a Droid basically. Of course even better would be if Samsung made a slider version of the Galaxy or Note. I do NOT like onscreen keyboards or keys. Still miss my Droid 2 qwerty. Love TouchWiz but miss those lovely hard keys. There are still a lot of qwerty fans out here. Even if it was just an add-on case I'd buy it, if it was a very good quality product I'd pay up to 70 or 80 for it. But not for some some cheapo wallet case with an iphone bluetooth keyboard in it. Slim, sliding if possible, and nice big keys for the Note with good layout design. Anyone else dig it?

That seems difficult to use, Are you looking to use it for making word documents and blog posts and such?

I'm not going to write long articles with it. Though if it's comfortable I might. I just want it for every-day texting and what not. I am a write, so my average text is never under the 164 character limit or whatever the limit is. And Idk why it would matter what swiftkey supports.

I know, that's another problem. I was hoping to have a slider case, like the original droid's keyboard did. It just slid out and you typed... Those were the days

I know what would be just the PERFECT lil keyboard for you...the TREWGrip: Universal Handheld Keyboard and Air Mouse that's currently trying to get enough funding through their KickStarter campaign...THIS looks like just the keyboard for ya! Also, here's a short-n-sweet little review from NBC News for you. This new little device seems to have a lot of people either lovin' it or hatin' it, with most people leaning over towards the latter. I, myself, have never seen such a thing in the wild and I'm also not a big fan of keyboards, let alone keyboards like this one...but to each his own. At least check it out, as it's a very interesting new piece of technology that's at the very least worth reading about! :good:

We want a keyboard case so it can fit in our pocket. Thank you everyone for the links.. But a big bluetooth keyboard or that weird sideways keyboard aren't fitting in a pocket. The Note is already giving my pocket a workout! Well I'll wait for now, or maybe make one myself.
We'll be waiting forever. No one seems to be interested in making one... If you do end up making one please let me know! I will pay you for it.

Ugh I know. I'd be willing to pay a LOT. Like $70 or even a bit more if it was GOOD. Not hacked together. Though even if it was a bit hacked together if it worked and was relatively durable I'd pay near to half that. Yeah if I make one it probably won't be pretty lol but i'll keep you updated. I'll post how I did it if so. I'll wait a bit more and keep looking for QWERTY slider keyboard cases for the Note 3. I will post back if one is found!
