Video rec problem - Volume too low - MDA II, XDA II, 2060 ROM Development

Hi all, I am looking for a way to raise the recording volume for video recording, because I think the rec volume for video is too low (This is not a problem when recording audio alone) When I playback my recorded video, the volume is too low even when at max. volume.
Also, can anyone upload the original Xda II Album software? I think the later version that I have (v2.50) is a lot poorer than the original version..
Thanks a lot

Enabling the Microphone AGC makes no difference towards the volume problem..

Recording volume

Hi,
I've been looking around for an answer about the recording volume of the camera being too loud and just distorting all the time, is there a way to fix this without putting on another rom? Is there a secret menu that i can go into and lower the input volume?
Thanks

[Q] Audio volume boost in video recording

There's a way to boost mic levels in our xperia? The Volume in my videos is very low and Shazam not working because of low mic level...
What I can do?
Maybe you have a hardware fault. How is the in call volume on the other side of the line, or when recording video? Shazam, TrackID etc. have always worked fine for me.

Sound quality from video recording.

Is this phone has built-in ability to calibrate and adjust a loud sound when recording a live video event and prevent to be distorted?
Does anyone can test or tested already?

sound quality on recorded videos

Hi, any idea how to improve the sound quality on recorded videos.?
Did a test in a silent room and playback has a lot of crackling and background noise.
thanks in advance.
I have the same problem with video and also on sound recorder.
A search finds a few people have the same problem but no answer.
I have reported it to the Elephone Bugs & Problems Feedback and hope to hear from them as I like the phone but find the video unusable.
Fix
I found a way to fix this issue:
1. Type in the following on the dialer:
*#*#3646633#*#*
Now you are in Engineer Mode
2. Navigate to
Hardware Testing -> Audio -> Volume -> Audio Record
3. Under
Camera recording/ Receiver
change default value to 140-180
(you may need to try a couple of values to find the best for you, I chose 180)
This should remove backgroud cracklings and make sounds clear

Doesn’t work for me. I can’t find the sweet spot. All it does is make the background noise and crackling lauder or quieter.

Thank you, this works beautifully, there is still some background noise when listening on the phones speaker but is clear with headphones or on a PC.
I have also changed the Audio setting as I had the same problem with Sound Recorder.
Thank you again.

I just followed aovks instructions and changed the Camera recording/ Receiver setting to 180 (the original setting was 92).
As I had the same problem with Sound Recorder I changed the Camera recording drop down to Sound recording and set this to 180 (the original setting was 132).
There is still some background crackling noise with the phone speaker but the videos played back on headphones or another phone seem fine.
I think that there is still a problem with the phone speaker when playing videos but as the actual recordings are good I'm happy.
It may be worth trying a higher setting than 180 to see if it makes any improvement.

I'm happy I could help.
I came across this solution by looking at the value of Sound Recording, which is 132. Since sound recording had better quality than video recordings I first changed it to 132 and then tried some other values.
Maximum value is 252. I have tried multiple values between original 92 and maximum 252.
For me it seemed that for values above ~200 the sound starts to overdrive.
As said, by my personal impression 180 seems the best value, but maybe other values have better outcomes (I'm no sound expert )
Also, as you said, it is important to test your changes on other than inbuilt speakers as they are always off-tone even with the best quality sound source. Better listen to recordings with headphones or with some good externeal speakers.

Ok thanks, yes I suppose there is a some improvement for me too. It’s not dead silent , as you say there is some remaining background noise but it has improved. When listening on another device it does seem to be clearer. Thanks for your help.

I'm using my Xperia Z5 compact to record YouTube videos for my channel. Pic quality is fine but the mic level could beer higher. Can I adjust this? Dev

i think Sony Xperia is not good at sound volume and mic level.
Use the recorder app to test the performance of the microphone with voice stimulation. Use the volume toggle to test the microphone (with the beep when you reach maximum volume level and toggle to increase further). After you've done that and confirmed the level of microphone pick-up go activate the 'energy saver' option and run the recorder app microphone diagnostic again. I did that and resolved on my Mother's device.
Or, root your phone.
