Restore WM2003 Sprite Backup on WM2003SE rom - MDA II, XDA II, 2060 ROM Development

Hello,
I was wondering if it is possible to restore an WM2003 (rom 1.60) Sprite Backup on a WM2003SE (diamon rom). If this is possible, this can save a lot of time...
Thanks,
Leo

The factual answer is: no point if you are attempting to restore your registered apps. Most registered apps have files and licensed settings in the registry. If you are restoring the registry of a previous ROM over your new one, you get very unpredictable results.

Henry

Thanks for your answer. So I have to be be carefull and select what and what NOT to restore then it shouldn't be a problem. Makes me a bit more sure to do the upgrade to WM2003SE.

basically, you can only restore back appointments, contacts, task & connection settings.

yes, this maybe a bug, even though PIE running & receiving data from internet, windows live just refuse to connect. I've tried wifi (i got a SDIO WLAN card), active sync, no luck...
but maybe u could try this software as a tentative replacement for WLM.

Well, the title explains it all.
I'm not shure if this is the right place, but people flashing Raph ROMs come here, so I think it's the place where most of the people, that may be still have this old ROM on their HDDs, can see the topic.
Thanks in advance.

P.S. I blured the images because I thought they might be sensitive info I don't really know...
Just so you know here is what they are:
BCDES-20100825-1441
(letters) - (date, backwards) - (time)
So at 2:41 on the 25/8/10 I created a backup!
So you have obviously done more than one backup
I haven't worked out what the letters are. Probably to do with what types of data you're backing up.

Yes it's logic

SMS wont restore from Kies

I have moved from Orange to 3 (UK)
So i flashed the 3 version of the ICS4 firmware as on:
http://www.theandroidsoul.com/galax...wnload-the-i9100h3glp2-firmware-at-carrier-3/
That worked out fine.
I did a backup before.
It shows that it has backed up my SMS:

"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",

}
When i go next
Wont let me restore them.
By flashing the 3 rom, your phones become just a i9100, no longer a i9100P. Probably whats confused Kies, thinks its a different phone and wont restore personal data (contacts, calendar etc)
Sent from my GT-P7510
So if i flash it back to Orange i would be able to retrieve that info?
alternatively, you could install a SMS backup application from the play store and restore your messages
Personally, I dont TRUST Kies. I use third-party back up tools for the job.

Would still have to flash the orange firmware and restore them to the phone before i can back them up using an sms backup app?
