I-Mate Hell Which Rom is best English running in the US Blue

Hi all I have a new Imate and love it but I see so many Rom updates it is starting to spin my head. It looks like the OS From England is the best from talk….Is this so or is it hit and miss..Please guide me and then How do I change my I-mate to what ever Rom you guys say is best?
Robo,
I'm in the same boot as you except I have the MDA II with an older upgrade 1.60. I also have read that the new XDA II ROM appears to be the most stable.
I would like to hear how people respond to your thread, because I asked too many questions in the ROM Comparison thread I posted a couple of days ago, and got 0 responses.
I would like to add to your request for the best upgrade, is it best to stay within ROM Upgrade Brands. Am I correct that using an XDA II ROM upgrade on my MDA II device will create an ID issue, which if I want to sucessfully use a different brand ROM, I will have to hack around the ID issue.

O2 XDA II unlocking

well let me start off by saying that over the full internet searching for about 10 days now this is the most informative site for the XDA II by far. so i decided to reg. on it. well this is my first post. so plz forgive me if i do something wrong  . neways gettin to wht i wanted help from you experts. my brother has got a XDA II which is locked on O2 network. so i did do a search and all but since im a NOKIA 6600 user and dont hate me for it i guess im too stupid for it. . can ppl here plz tell me wht software to put, or is there a place i can get the codes. nething to get it unlocked. i am really looking forward to join this forum and enjoy the feel of the XDA II. im very new to this. hoping to get good response. i dont mind a link as well as to where i can unlock it from. thx a lot in advance
Just follow the guide in this thread to use xda2unlock.exe, it worked fine on my XDAII running the 1.60.00WWE ROM. It really is very straightforward. Just download this file copy to your XDAII and double click it to unlock. You can then insert your providers SIM.
If you're not confident doing it this way then there is an alternative method using Active Sync with a different .exe which you can download here.
griffog thx a lot for replyin. . i was wondering wht if this method wont work and which is the easy way since ill be gettin my phone in 2 weeks. then i can try it.

XDA III - o2 Rumours from o2 source

Following all the speculation over the HTC MDA III, my source at o2 has stated that no new plans are sanctioned to release this version in the UK this year. They are exploring the opportuntites to integrate 3G and wifi into the new XDA III in 2005, but no new version before then. Phew. Also mentioned that a new Op system upgrade would be available later this year for XDA II, blackberry stack etc. 8)
Wow! If all you heard is true then it sound like good news for us.
As when I heard of the MDA III, I don't really quite like the design and look of the device as it is basically a slight change in the layout from the XDA II with a keypad attached to it, that's all.
Bryson, thank you for sharing the info. you had.
Did your source at o2 also mention about whether the new ROM will include some WM2003 Second Edition like landscape mode?
I am really interested in it if I can work with my Excel in landscape mode without soft reset my machine.
hi chris,
how today you put your xda 2 in landscape mode ? (waiting WM SE)
which software are you using ?
thanks a lot

But requires a soft reset after each change :-(
no news on the landscape mode, sorry , i suspect though that it will, as enough 3rd party solutions out there not to follow the trend i guess!

Is the BA_WWE_BP_12200_126_10600_SHIP Rom any good to anyone

Hi, I'm new at this, but I've downloaded a rom: BA_WWE_BP_12200_126_10600_SHIP
which I believe to be V1.22.0 WWE for the Blue Angel. And I'm wondering if it is any good to any one to modify for the XDA II. If so I will post it.
Thanks to all the guys that are developing WM2003se for us, I have done a couple of upgrades, and made my own ext rom and the phone has never worked better. THANKS

UK O2 XDA Trion ROM Dumped

Hello all,
While tinkering with my new Trion, i noted that no-one had apparently dumped a UK version of the ROM. So here you go:
!! [DUMPED English ROM from O2 XDA Trion (HERM100)| ftp://xdaupload:[email protected]_XDA_Trion_ENG_2.15.206.1_2007-03-23_WM5.rar]
ROM version 2.15.206.1
ROM date 03/23/2007
I've updated the wiki accordingly.
NB: I'm Michael - hi! Have been a member for ages, but not posted for years Used to deconstruct my original XDA / II all the time, but for over a year with my Mini-S (Wizard), i just stuck with the operator standard for over a year after getting annoyed with making the last "tinkered" unit (XDA IIs) unstable.
The bug is back though, and I've tinkered again. Hacked around and the best Hermes tweek, IMHO, is Schap's WM6: incredibly stable - obviously i've tweeked it a bit, but sheesh, things haven't half moved on since the XDA II days!
hey the link doesn't quite work if you could remove the %5d at the end it would work ta!
