unfortenately you are now in a position that you can't see what your device was.
Do you remember what OS was on your device? Which update did you try?

need help with my phone(failed during update process)

I am using vista and I was trying to flash my phone to the one provide by 3g in Australia. I updated the usb driver. During the update process someone unplugged the cable!!!!!
Now my phone doesn't pass the windows mobile logo and be able to get in the boot loader mode. Is my phone dead? I tried that rom again it says error 294 invalid vender id. I also tried to upgrade it to wm6 but always get 262 update error which says communication error.
Any help???
Thanks in advance
hi Richard,
for other reasons it looks like you have the same problems I had:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=319625
In this thread I have summarized my problems - and there was a procedure to fix it (at least for me) - it will take some hours to get everything DL and installed & compiled
When you need it I could describe more detailed what I did after I got my phone back to live via KITL
hope it will also work for you

HTC S 310 not starting-None of the Roms work! -[Edit:Problem solved]

Hi guys,
My windows is not starting[it gets stuck on home page] so I cannot copy any files to my mobile.
HTC S 310 was never released in India so the customer support here cannot help me.I am awaiting support from HTC UK.
In the mean time I was able to download only 3 roms [none of the other links are working].
Here are the error messages
[1] Rom 1: RUU_OxygenWM5_1.5.401.2_R3_4.1.13.28_02.67.90_HTC_EUR_Test
[size 34.9MBs]
Error message time:At 4% installation
Error message:Error 294:Invalid vendor id
[2] Rom 2: hspl.7z
[Size 435kbs]
Error message time:After 100% installation
Error message:Error 270:Update Error
[2] Rom 2: wm6test1_rom
[Size 24.9MBs]
Error message time:After 6% installation
Error message:Error 270:Update Error
I know I am royally screwed. Its an imported piece and HTC of my country does not provide any support.
I will have to throw my wonderful cell for such a minor problem.
I have read all the posts on XDA and none of the solutions has helped me.This is a dead end for me and I see no choice but to discard my cell.
I appreciate any help/advice/experience.
Thanks a lot for your time.

-A black screen will emerge which will tell you to press the send key in order to restore manufacturer default.
-Press the send key[Green coloured call button].
-The phone will show a process and restore the system to its default.
-Note that all the data will be lost.

Error [270] - update error

Just bought this phone on an internet auction and tried to update it to wm 6.1, but when I enter to bootloader, it goes 2%, 4% and then it just turns off and I get this error message on my PC saying "Error [270] - update error". Tried 2 different roms, same thing happened, even tried hardSPL, also got the same error. Any ideas how to avoid this problem? Thanks in advance.

are you have unlocked your device with the XDA ALL UNLOCK at the time of going to Flash ROM..??
Um, probably not, all I did was try to hardSPL the device, but as I said, the problem occurs.
Well? Any solutions?

can you show your steps in doing flash hardSPL..??
Well sure, my device is fully charged and connected to USB, I run "ROMUpdateUtility", check whatever needs to be checked, go next, next... and it starts the process, I see 100% on it and after few seconds I get this error saying "update error" and my device restarts itself.

you're copying sspl.exe on your device..??
What you also have to run SDA ApplicationUnlock will do it at the time..?
try to follow instruction that have been given
No, I'm not copying anything on my device, all I did is connect it to my PC via USB and run bootloader, thats it.
I haven't been given any instructions for preforming hardSPL.
EDIT: I just used SDA ApplicationUnlock, said "Phone is not unlockable", then when I pressed OK, it says "SDA successfully unlocked. PLEASE REBOOT SDA NOW!" Did that, tried HardSPL once more, again I got the same error message.

of course you get an error message because you do not copy spl.nb, spl.lnk and jumpspl.exe to the root device ..! it means you did not follow procedures or instructions given...
you try to flash back and follow the instructions given, OK
Sigh, all the same problems doing these upgrades. Please read first about the various unlocks here. Then come back and let me explain further:
You MUST application unlock your device. So far you have NOT done it! Search for an "on-device" application unlock called "HTC Unlock" - this will do the trick (it basically macros a signed registry editor) and a subsequent run of the SDA Application unlock will succeed (not sure if still needed though).
The CID check avoidance by using an SPL replacement will only work if 1.) has succeeded
Good luck
First you must unbrick Device, upgrade SHIP ROM etc...
