I have a magician which was sim locked to T-Mobile.
Thanks to the tools offered, I was able to un-lock the phone and use it on O2 for 3 years.
I had a problem with the phone and had to re-install the ROM from the CD supplied by T-mobile. Upon doing so, the phone has locked itself to T-Mobile again and will not accept any other sim cards. I have tried O2, Vodafone and Orange.
The phone itself has now got Windows 6.1 by Cotulla, but as mentioned above, I can only use it on T-Mobile.
I have tried:
Lokiwiz (error message)
xdadev_all_unlock says the following:
xdadev_all_unlock started
device=HTC Magician
xdadev_all_unlock started
device=HTC Magician
xdadev_all_unlock started
device=HTC Magician
could not find security key for device type HTC Magician
xdadev_all_unlock failed
xdaSimlock
xda2unlock-v2.2 (says "found all locks to be already unlocked!"
The device still won't allow me to use any other sim cards. T-Mobile supply a code for £29.00 but it's not guaranteed to work and I've already tried it once. Does anyone know where the code is stored and if it can be removed manually? I have seen other threads stating that it should ask me for a security code if I use a different sim, but my phone does not do this. All it shows on the main screen is the antenna with an exclamation mark. With a T-mobile sim, it gets a full signal. I really want to be able to use this phone with other networks.
I will be very grateful to anyone out there that can help please??
Kind Regards,
Jp
Please, I know someone out there can help me out. Any suggestions or ideas? Help me out please????
Update
I have been trying to get this phone sorted, so I thought, why not go back to the old ROM - WM2003SE. I uploaded this and the phone briefly unlocked. I even made a call to the top up service on O2.
It then lost the network and was searching for it, after which it goes back to the previous state "No Service".
Please help!!!
HELP!!!
Firstly, Merry Xmas to you all.
Once again, I am requesting for someone to advise me on this problem. Please help me out.
Your help will be most appreciated.
Cheers,

Good day
I've used JICTech MultiServer client and tried to unlock my X10
Flashed stock 2.1 and went into flash mode to attempt to unlock my phone
I got the "Please contact your dealer" error and now it wont read my sim card
Is there anything i'm doing wrong or?
><
Same thing happened to me, it appears the unlock screws up your Sim card detection if it does not complete successfully. For me step 3 got an error and failed. I just ran it again and Step 3 completed smoothly and fixed the Sim problem.
Well unfortunantley - I'm screwed -.-
anyone knows a solution or smtn?
bump .
To anyone with the same problem maxrfon replied to my pm with this:
Nothing can be screwed. They have to rety, talk to support and they will get help.

Update:
With maxrfon's help I've fixed my phone
What caused my phone to be unable to read sim cards is still a mystery to me :/
I do strongly recommend this service as he could have turned me down and demand a payment for his time which he did not.
If you had a simillar problem contact him and/or talk to support at nextgenserver.com
This is what happened! I had an old t-mobile Samsung phone that I wanted to unlock, since I moved back to my country i wanted to have it as a back up phone, so I used the Sim card from my HTC Amaze to do the unlocking. Well it didn't go as planed and when i returned my SIM card back to my HTC it said " NO SIM CARD IN PHONE". Then I used different SIM to see if it will do the same and the same message!!! I did factory reset and this problem is still persisting. Can anyone help me please!
Hi guys
I have a big issue with my S3 GT I9300. This morning, everything was running well and suddenly i got the error message "No SIM card, insert a SIM card". I didn't try to flash any ROM, or put any root or something. I was on my desk, the phone was on the table and when i checked it a few minutes later : no network and SIM card error message...
Until now i was on I9300XXUFME3 ROM. I tried to clean the sim card, the sim card slot, push the sim card while the phone was turning on (maybe it wasn't touching correctly the pin), but still getting the same issue. My IMEI is OK, still the original one (no 00 or 0049, etc).
That's why i decided ot flash a orginal ROM and flashed my phone to I9300XXUGMJ9. Flash is OK but still getting the network issue (no sim card inserted)..
I couldn't try my phone with an other SIM as I was alone at the office but i guess the issue comes from the phone as my SIM card is not old at all (i have it for 6 months only) and I don't remove it often from the phone.. Until this morning, my phone (bought it from someone 6 months ago= was working perfectly and I didn't flash it since May 2013, so I don't really understand..
I also tried Ariza's patch (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1918601) but when I press "Apply fix", it starts downloading and stays at 0%.. Nothing seems to be downloading.
Any help would be very greatful guys, thank you.. :crying:
Don't go flash crazy, you'll do more damage with that patch.
Sounds like your sim card reader is faulty, not an expensive item to have repaired.

Hello,
I just went to an Orange store here in Paris and the issue was simply a deffective SIM card.. They replaced it by a new one and got the issue fixed
Thanks a lot guys for your kind help!
Hi guys, i have similar problem, i tried different sim cards, none worked, tried changing the whole card reader with a brand new one, but it didn't fix the problem.
everything started approximately a month ago, or even more, i tried rooting the phone after applying the update but i missed up and almost killed the hone, after allot of effort i managed to bring it back to life and re-installed the firmware update, but the phone started giving me the "Not registered on network" error, and the IMEI changed to that 0049 thing, then it started telling me to insertsim card.
the thing is, before all this happens I had no idea how to important it is to backup, so I have no EFS backup
so, any ideas what could be the cause? and how to fix it?
Hello everyone,
I live in Ontario Canada
I recently bought this phone. it's actually good, but something happened that I cannot fixed, I bought the phone from coolicool a store from China so it's taking some time to fixed my problem. Well the problem is this: I can't use my phone because it is asking me for the PRIVACY PROTECTION PASSWORD number which I don't have because I didn't set it up. I was playing with my phone to see what it does and all the sudden the screen appeared asking me for the number, well after trying many times different numbers I gave up, so i decided to do a HARD RESET which erased everything so I thought problem solved.... no way the stupid screen still comes up and won't let me use the phone... somehow I got to the setting and in the SECURITY OPTION i noticed that the MOBILITY ANTI-THEFT is ON and I tried different ways to turn it off but I haven't been able to do so. when I click on the MOBILITY ANTI-THEFT, it asks me for the number again which I don't know, honestly after doing the FACTORY RESET was enough but nothing works. By the way I did try 0000 and 1234 and 9999 and 1111.
It's not asking me for my sim card number because I tookthe sim card out and it does the same thing PLESSE ENTER THE PRIVACY PROTECTION PASSWORD TO UNLOCK...... it is driving crazy.....PLEASE HELP
The same problem

I ran into the same problem after changing sim-cards. Hard reset does not help, returning old sim back does not help. Remote android locking/erasing via google device manager does not help. I don't know what to do.
robflo1970, did you solved the problem? How did you get into settings?
