the phone rings, and I can't hear the caller - MDA II, XDA II, 2060 ROM Development

frankly , i am frustrated with my PDA2k !!!
many problems that I face i can live with, but , when it comes to not beeing able to answer a call with a very expensive pda!! ( i recieve a call , and the other party and me , can't hear each other, which only soved by hard reset ) that's really very nasty.. is there a way to overcome this problem. i updated my device with 1.40 latest one, but no change , same
please give me a clue!
thank you

bluetooth tools does that
it try automaticly to direct the call to a headset
it should give you back sound when it's don trying
you can set the time in the reg or not use bluetooth tools

Other solution is keeping the bluetooth connection always on (click on the little clock on the ad-in of the bttools. The problem with this is that the battery goes flat very fast.

Sound skipping on WM2003

Hi All.
I have a problem that from what I see, I'm the only one who has it.
Everything was fine on PPC2002 and I upgraded today to WM2003, after that I get sound skipping/clipping on many games/apps.
For example when I record something with "Notes" everything's fine but if I use VITO's SoundExplorer I get lots of skipping on the recorded audio.
On games with music (Clickgamer's Knight Lite / ZioSoft's Metalion / Astraware's GTS Racing and many, many more) it clips a lot.
It is very annoying and it never happened on PPC2002 (used the Spanish and the O2 English ROM from LumpiStefan's kitchen for PPC2002 and for WM2003 I used A.30.09 ENG Siemens).
I tried disabling all my Today's plugins (leaving Today totally empty) and renaming the Startup folder in order to check if it was an app in there slowing down the sound, but nothing, it stays the same.
Does anyone have a clue or will I need to downgrade to PPC2002?
I love PPC2002 but the phone losts the signal so frecuently that it renders the phone useless. For example I go to the subways and get No Signal, that's OK but when I get out of it, it doesn't get back unless I turn off the radio or reset the phone, that's annoying like hell. It should check for signal say once per minute, I lose plenty of calls because of that...
So I read that with GB-Soft Tweak (http://www.gb-soft.cz) if I disable "GPRS Always On" I will get signal everytime but unfortunately it doesn't work on PPC2002 so I had to upgrade.
That's it, that's my story
Hope anyone can help me.
Kind regards,
Marton
P.S.: LumpiStefan, if you're reading this: I also got the BootScreen inverted and upside down on WM2003 (just like on PPC2002 Spanish) so I think it is a problem with the Kitchen... maybe you should check it... Cheers!
try GB-SOFT GPRS TWEAK, i have the same problem, that dissapeared
after i set "high priority for audio media"
http://www.gb-soft.cz/XDAII/product_gprs_tweak_en.htm
Wow!!! Thanks!
Now it doesn't click anymore but it does turn off the sound and makes a fade-in every 5~10 seconds.
I don't know what's better: skipping or stopping and fading in
Anyway I notice that it makes fade-in everywhere, for example when I'm checking the ring tones it is set as Vibrate and Ring and the ringtones fade in, just like as if it was on "Increasing ring". That was the first thing I noticed when I upgraded to WM2003... Is there a way to disable that annoying fade-in?
Thanks for the speedy and helpful reply k_dima!
i use AT&T A30.09 about 5 month, and decided to change it to O2 WM2003, that you can find in the Rom Kitchen.
After this upgrade , fade effect dissapeared.
I reccomend you to use O2 ROM , becouse it's a very stable and fast , without annoying sound effects.
Before O2 ROM i use AT&T and T-Mobile 4.0.16.
T-Mobile ROM is too slow and not stable. When you installed more than 10 programms, you can notice it, but Radio Stack from T-Mobile Rom i left as is, becouse i have the best voice quality with T-Mobile Radio Stack.

Partial Fix to WM6 loosing sound after a call

I'm usung Smart1 V1.3 ROM and all is great (the best one I've tried so far) but some have reported a bug where you loose all sound after a call. Some say the sound gets lost if the person you talked to hangs up the phone first, but in my case it happens no matter who hangs up first.
Well, I just discovered how to recover sound once you loose it after a phone call. When you are done using the phone, get back to the dialer and press several times the BACK ARROW on the keypad until the sound comes back. It works for me and I hope it works for you too.
I know it's a PITA, but until we find a permanent solution this should do it.
Cheers!

Turn AUTO on BT on incoming call

Hi gurus!
I wish to know if there is a reg edit to change something to turn on automatly on incoming call.
I know some soft to do this but don't owrk well with WM5 & WM6.
some of theme BTTools, phoneAlarm-v1.6...
So if there some soft that work ok....
Thanks!!!
PD: Sorry for my english
Hi there,
I had the same problem, at the moment I use CommMgrPro on WM6, but this software is able to do a lot more than just to switch on Bluetooth. The problem so far is when the phone is ringing, it takes a while (2 rings) Bluetooth is switched on, another two rings the headset is connected to take over the call. So I'm not totally satisfied with the solution.
Here you can find the tool:

I do not get your problem. I use Jabra BL headset (two different models) and do not need any additional software to be able to answer the call with BL headset. I can hear beep in my Jabra and can push the button to receive a call. Just simply have paired my Jabra with my X7500.
Hi all, Im noobz
probably what davicito13 ask was how to make the BT automatically switched on ONLY when theres an incoming call and automatically switched off when finshed.
(triying 2save batery i guess)
CSDEVCTRL
CSDEVCTRL has this option. Works perfectly on HTC Touch.

Hi,
I did Mortscript code this "BT on with call" functionality for use with PocketMax.net PhoneAlarm. Penguin has reported that the next version already has that functionality when he releases it.
The script can easily operate independently from PhoneAlarm.
I did post the script over at PocketMax forums, and if anybody ever wants that app, let me know and I will repost it here as well.
If I leave my BT on, even with a extended battery, my phone dies twice as fast.
With PhoneAlarm I could have it turn the BT on or off with power. The real issue for my phone is that PhoneAlarm is the only BT toggler that works.
Anyhow, if you want it let me know.
thanks, Keith
MortScript
Hey Keith,
please post this MortScript-code.

Hi,
Here is a script i wrote for PA that automatically turns on the bluetooth on an incoming call.
This can be added to a PA profiles' run application option.
Of course my phone has a window that says "Phone - Incoming...", other phones may have a different window title. If you ignore the phone call that window hides in the background so shutting the bluetooth off automatically is tricky. I did set the script so it turns off bluetooth if you look at "Call History". There may be a better way to know the call has ended. I am not sure the "Phone - Incoming" window closes after you exit the call.
To kill the script, you can also witch to a different profile than "Car=On" or the profile that was active when you ran the script.
From here that leaves the door open to an auto-answer with speakerphone option. Very easy.
If you do add the command line option for BT toggle, I can just turn bt on without switching profiles to Car.
I also updated the Status script to add the BT on Call message.

Keep in mind this is an antique. Probly like 8 months old. Ok maybe like 4 months old. seems like a long time in mortscript years.

This isn't going to help much but .... sounds like the perfect setup to me.
Hi Guys,
I am trying to run VoIP on my device (which is not athena by the way) and have absolutely the same issue. I have very good knowledge in the voip networks and very good experience and this thing makes me crazy (believe me)
As what i already found is there shouldn`t be any issue:
the RTP is going between the end points without any troubles on the correct ports and everything looks just perfect - i.e. there is no any network issue, SIP communication (SDP related) issue or whatever like that
The possible problems for me are as follow:
- codecs issue - actually if you can make a call and the other side pick it up without the line to be dropped, then this is not the case (at least the codec on windows mobile is working)
- the audio output device - the audio is trying to go out trough a device which is not present on your system - so you are not hearing anything.
I will be glad to chat to anyone who have the same issue and can help me to debug the problem and find the permanent solution. I don`t have big knowledge on windows mobile devices (but at least know how to install cab files and modify the registry settings - hehe) so to anyone who is in deep relationships to this system and can help me -- give me your msn/icq/skype/jabber contact and lets pray together

Hi!
I start by stating that I finally got it "working"! Yeahh! This "thing" costed me a hard reset and a lot of frustration. Let me write down what I think is the issue/"solution".
I say "working" because it is almost impossible to get the sound out of the Athena, unless you use a bluetooth headset (I haven't tried the wired one) and the supplied Voice Dialer.
To keep it short, for the Athena X7501 here is what you need to do to have "native" VoiP working partially as thought:
Connect the BT headset
Leave the Voice Dialer activated (Cyberon Dialer, provided in the original ROM). That means that the relevant entry in the registry shouldn't be set to '0': HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\OEM\VoiceCommand\LaunchAPEnable
Connect to your VoiP Servce and launch the phone. Now you should see your VoiP provider as agent. Dial the number (Good luck with the ipdialplan.xml) and you see that the Voice Dialer pops-up! Ignore it. The relevant communication port is happily already taken by the VoiP. You hear the sound on your bluetooth Headset. If you like, you can now transfer the sound to the speaker!
To my understanding, after having spent hours on this issue, I think that this is due to a DLL modified by HTC. Don't ask me which one. There is NO registry entry you can play with to solve it, unless you 're really lucky with the DLLs provided. It seems that there was some kind of agreement to make life very difficult to those trying to communicate through VoiP. I personally use VoiP only at home and don't bother too much. Maybe all this is history in the cooked ROM. Let's see.
If you don't need the Voice Dialer, then I suggest you use Fring. It works well both ways. However to use a Bluetooth Headset, you need to deactivate the Voice Dialer in the registry.
I hope this helps.
Rgds
Dod
P.S. The above are applicable to the original US Rom of X7501
There has been a discussion at Skype with respect to 6.1 and Skype failing to work correctly http://forum.skype.com/index.php?showtopic=112059
Maybe this might be of help.
Strange problem. Maybe you can try with software like fring.
Ran it on pk3 without any trouble and now running it with the 6.1 rom and still working fine

HTC Hero and Nokia CK-7W handsfree set

Hi @ all,
since a few days i am a proudly HTC Hero owner. Its quite an amazing phone with many features and a steady growing Market.
At the weekend i tried to couple my Hero with my bluetooth handsfree set installed in my car. But what i recognized wasn't so much pleasing: The Hero didn't display the handsfree set in the list of available bluetooth devices.
Before i got the Hero i had a HTC TyTN II aka Kaiser and it worked well with the handsfree set.
Perhaps anybody else have some similar trouble or experience with this and maybe a solution, fortunately. It would be great to keep usage of my handsfree set furthermore.
Thank you and best regards
On handsfree there are some buttons right ? You need to press them in a combination so the handsfree can be detected by your Hero. Just search on the handsfree guide or internet. I cannot help you because I don't have it and don't know the button combination. When you find it go to settings and turn on Bluetooth on your phone. Just search it and connect to it
Hi omokas,
yes, you are right.. but i've done this.
The users guide says you have to press the main button for 1 second. After that you will get a feedback sound and the led gets flashing... so far so good.. everything is fine but the Hero doesn't recognize.
Hopefully there are no different bluetooth protocols or whatever the devices can't communicate.
Have you tried an application from Market ? It may to the job
But if not then your handsfree must be an older version that your Hero can't recognise. Before buying a new one make sure your phone works with other handsfrees.

No, i haven't tried yet. Can you recommend one?
At the moment i'm not able to try an other handsfree. But i've just seen the handsfree is able to store seven pairings... maybe there is the problem.
So i'm going to delete all pairings and give a next try.
Thanks
Yes try that. You could try the application "Bluetooth+Headphones".
Sorry if I am not able to help further but I don't use handsfree because I am 13 and I don't know how to drive.
No Problem... I am appreciate for any Help!
Did you get any results yet? E.g. did the removal of the other pairings work? Or the app from the market?
I'm quite interested in this since I'm still looking into getting the CK-100 build in my car
I am planning on getting that carkit wired up outside of the car, so I can at least give it a try and see if it wants to work. But don't have that much time to give it a try yet, end of next week perhaps...
I have a CK-7W and it works with my Hero (official orange ROM).
It was a bit of a nightmare to get paired in the 1st place, the hero failed to find it but I kept trying and it eventually found it. I think I might have reset the hands free though (pull the power for a few minutes).
The device usually pairs pretty fast, sometimes it takes a min or two but not often.
My only gripes are :
1: some times it doesn't send the audio to the speaker keeping it on phone requiring you to use a menu option to do so.
2: The ring tone isn't the one set on the phone but a generic ringer.
3: Occasionally the phone doesn't disconnect properly when the other end hangs up requiring you to do so manually.
I have a CK-15W car kit
and its fully supported
it even downloads the phonebook very well
ck7w and hero
My hero worked first time! To pair you need to leave ignition off and hold the button in until it beeps, not just a short push as that just turns the car kit on. Once its beeped search for it and then pair using code. As yet I have had none of the problems mentioned here. I hope this helps
I have the same phone (Android 1.5 stock ROM) and the same Nokia CK-7W handsfree set.
For me this works fine. Didn't have to press the button on the handsfree set. Just searched for BT devices and paired.
