WM2005 lackes support for SD??? - MDA II, XDA II, 2060 ROM Development

Trying to access an SD card through the security nechanizm (for protection) ends up in an error... the same applied for an 2003-2nd edition.
I was told that the storage driver has to implement the IOCTL_DISK_GET_STORAGEID.
Any suggestion?

WM5Storage + Niki ?

since the kaiser has the same cpu as the niki i tried this modified WM5Storage for the Kaiser : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=349143&page=5&highlight=WM5torag
but it doesn't work on the niki, i get lots of io errors..
did anyone suceed with wm5storage or is there no solution ?
Nop, as I said in my post in Niki section, neither wm5torage or Card Export II are working... lots of IO errors, unable to umount the device (on my linux box). Maybe it's because I've an SDHC sandisk 4Go....
So, I can't connect my dual to my linux box (I have to take an SD card adapter in order to be able to do some files transferts).
if someone has the solution....
(PS : On the wm5torage website 'modaco', the maintener said that it depends of the device, depends of drivers...)
See my previous post here :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=355724
the 4GB sdhc is not the problem, i have a normal 2GB SD card...
so the only hope is that softsic releases an update to enable cardexport on the niki
I have card export v3.12 and its working for me since v3.7
I just have problems when the trials stop working after a month, but that is another issue...
wm5torage doesnt work on my niki, but card export II works so well

How to install .pfx certificate to view a web?

Hi i have a website that need .pfx imported first in firefox for me to see it. It can be done with my galaxy s2?
thanks in advance.
I believe you do it through Settings --> Location and security --> (Credential storage) Install from USB storage (Install encrypted certificates from USB storage).
i tried that but i get usb storage not available? i move .pfx and .p12 just in case to the root on my card i saw files but i get usb storage not available when tried what u said:
Settings --> Location and security --> (Credential storage) Install from USB storage (Install encrypted certificates from USB storage).
"USB storage" refers to the internal memory i.e. /sdcard, not /sdcard/external_sd, where have you been putting it?
i have mac osx i set usb storage then connect usb cable then it shows me the partition then i move he certificates there
i use a file manager to see if its in the right place the files i saw that everything its on /sdcard/
i have installed checkrom for my galaxy too i dont know if thats the problem?
did you figure out how to install
I dont see if this issue was ever resolved. did you ever get around this issue?
At least for WiFi certificates i successfully used this: http://www.realmb.com/droidCert/
no that doesn't work with. Pfx certificates

[Q] SD Encryption

Hi all
I have a question/problem about my files on SD Card.
When I connect my sony ericsson xperia neo with the pc even if it is locked with a pattern I can still access all the files on SD card from USB.
I haven't found a way to encrypt the whole or part of the SD.
In my previous phone (windows mobile 6.1) there was an option where you could encrypt files in sd so that when i connected it through usb to pc, the pc asked me for password first and then read the files. Also i couldn't read the sd with a card reader cause it was encrypted.
Is there an option to encrypt the whole sd or at least part of it?
If so,how?Do i need to use an extra program from android market? Is there an option to do that from the operating system?
I will search for a way to do so...that is really necessary...I have used symbian and maemo before android...in symbian you can set password for sdcard and it becomes unreadable by pc.

I have tried to find a way for days now. Nothing so far. I read that in ICS encryption will be available. Well,if that's the case i guess we'll have to wait till then.
It's a bit shame though because this is a HUGEEEEE security issue that I dont understand why i don't see much fuss about it!!!I'm amazed!
There r a lots of other issues...in my opinion android is still evolving and there is a long way ahead...even then android is by far the best mobile OS.

Hello all,
So I upgraded the phone to ICS 4.0.3 and it seems I cannot find an option to encrypt phone under settings > security.
What I have found is this:
If i connect to pc through usb I need to enter my screen password in order to be able to read the SD Card.
BUT, when I remove the sd card and enter it to an external card reader ALL data are available.
Is there no option to fully encrypt the SD Card in ICS?
What the heck?

[Q] S3 SD Card encryption algorithm

I have an S3 whose external SD card failed and it won't mount. I had most of the data backed up, but a few things I'm really trying to get to. Unforunately, to add insult to injury, the SD card was also encrypted.
When I remove the SD card and place it in a Linux computer, I can see the files by correct (cleartext) filename. I can download them. However, when I try to open a jpg or play a video, I get an error that it's not a recognized file type. I believe this is due to eCryptfs file encryption, but I'm not sure.
I was able to recover the key file from the root of the phone, but I'm still unable to decrypt the files.
Can anyone provide a brief overview of the type of encryption on this device (ie, confirm or not confirm that external SD cards are encrypted with eCryptfs) and provide general settings as to how it's encrypted? I think I have all of the raw tools to decrypt the data and rescue whatever I can, but I'm not sure I have the settings right or even the right encryption type (could it be dm-crypt?).
Any help appreciated.

[Q] concurrent read/write to storage using both usb and wlan

Hello all,
I'm trying to read/write to the phone storage while the phone is connected using "USB storage".
This seems to put the phone storage in a lock. FTP apps that work flawlessly (using wlan) can't read/write to the phone storage. Also Play Store can't download and install apps.
Any idea on how to do this? (keep in mind that the scenario with both usb and wlan connections is mandatory)
If it helps (but i am also willing to buy another phone with another version of Android just to make this work):
Android 4.4.2
Kernel 3.4.67
Sorry for my English and Thank you!!!
