Put the files in \windows\rings and you can select them as you would any other ringtone.

Do you know what ROM you are using?
I have tried this on 2.06 and 2.20 and both allow me to do this.
Perhaps an older ROM will not allow it.

AFAIK you can set mp3 for it. I convert them to mp4 extension and it works for me. Btw the MP4 is around 70% smaller then mp3 and really a good quality.

First you name the first song to 1 word:
Example: Anouk - Lost.mp3 -> anouklost.mp3
Then you put it in Windows/Rings.
You get your mp3 there.. I think of you have a hard/soft reset you won't need to change the name.. I can see all of my songs now in the settings of the phone.. Maybe it's luck only :wink:

I find that after upgrading to ROM 1.72 ,
I can't "zoom" when I'm in camera mode .
Will it be better if I upgrade to 2003 SE ?
Heard that the battery life will drop faster .

The zoom function only works when you have the picture size at 320x240. If you have the picture size at 640x480 zoom isn't available. This is normal as far as I know. Certainly was for me on 1.60 and 1.72 versions. Didn't try it on the 2.06 SE version. I've gone back to 1.72 now, however.

I m running the Chinese at this moments, which I found everything is working fine, OS ROM + EXT ROM (Offical Ext Rom for CH)
I tested on English 2.02 & 2.06 found that abit not that good as the Chinese one, alot of other peoples saying got error on Today Screen, BT & etc

but there is always some software cant run

tweaks 2k2 doesn't work on the 2.20 chinese rom. I did find that by deleting the reg key HKCU-Software-Microsoft-Shell-Taskswitch the list is cleared. Could somebody maybe make a CAB file for this so I can put it in the startup folder ? Don't know if it will work but I'd like to try.
I am still looking for the newest version of this OS(English,European or American). I have downloaded the v2.20 Chinese-Translated from FTP,but the translation is a little bit buggy. The characters are not displayed correctly etc. As I have used this version for a while I was noticed,that is more faster and reliable than the v2.06(Diamond 1.2). Does anyone know about some newer version than v2.06 PLEASE? Any recommendation will be appreciated. Very well thanks for some help in advance.

please check in your device information (Start->System->Device Information) if it is really 2.20.07WWE (or 2.20.00WWE) and not 2.20.07CHS..
if it does really 2.20.07WWE (or 2.20.00WWE) please upload it in the ftp

OK. Thanx. Please give us some details,where can we download it. The dl-speed is ok for me because I have the internet connection via EDGE and therefore is the 15kBps the top limit for me(hope that the B is byte not bit ).

Maybe whis Windows 2.2.07WWE comes from this site http://pdamobiz.com/show_news.asp?NewsID=37217. This could be confusing because the site header is 2.20.07 and the zip file is 2.2.07 I'm investigating righht now to see if it's the CHS version.
ahead of u... downloaded that from last night... i tried it.. its CHS.. and i lost my ability to set wma ringtone... but overall im stying with this till thers a WWE version... much faster than 2.06... Golkanavt.. pls pls post urs..

And how it appears? As I wrote above,I had problems with translated CHS ROM with text. Is it correct in this release? The wma support is no matter for me.
well u will still see boxes.. thats wat stops me from upgrading to 2.20 chs in the 1st place.. but after today i cant be bothered to go back to 2.06.. i dun get annoyed by this... though i dun deletes folder with boxes in case its sumtin we need to start... i find that at least its more faster... but of cose i miss the wma ringtone ability.. i tried all kind of software.. still wont work... i think the wma problem is due to the change from wmp9 to wmp10... any person hav a solution for this??
i still cant get wma ringtone to work.. but after fiddling around with it i got mp3 ringtone to work instead... i had mp3 associated to pocket music before and i changed it back to wmp... now it works... but not loud enough... i guess better than nothing...,

But I can't check its version right now cause i haven't any PDA's - i did it for my friends who asked me about new version of Windows Mobile. I'll try to find more details on it ASAP. Can we confirm that this version is a Chinese translated to English thus I do believe that this rom is the 2.20 which BuZz worked on it?
yup i can confirm that.. i downloaded this version yday... it says WWE version but once loaded on the splash image it says CHS... and true enough most folders inside have block as names... on the topic of this, is it safe to delete these folder with boxes names though??

Hi, I'm a newbie and I am searching for the right upgrades for my M1000. Which one(s) did you use and where did you get them? Looking through the site there's loads, but which work? Also can't connect to the ftp site to download any upgrades... Can you help??? I'm really interested in upgrading my BT due to getting a pair of Moto ht820's and I can't stream audio to them.

When you download a rom upgrade, you will find a text file read_this_first.
Well read it first!
Then ask questions for parts you didn't understand well.

Can you tell us what happens when you put the pda in its craddle?
Do you see any error message about an unknown device ?
Be more specific about the problems...
