I've tried to upgrade my i-mate with this (and changed the header of the 3 files) but got a 2 crap (I'll post when I'm home tonight). The first one (with the hymalaya updates files found on the FTP, that I use everytime I upgrade/downgrade) got me an wrong file crap (something like that) and the files in the .exe linked here (see beginning of the topic) sent me a error, but not country ID (yes, I've changed the headers in the 3 files). I'll post more details.
My upgrade setup works pretty good, since I upgraded to WM5h a couple minutes later (why not use this bootloader mode to give another try to WM5). I now need to downgrade since the mapping software I use, hangs in WM5 (from bl to h). :?
Please, can someone try to make this 1.75 version work? I'm very curious on what changes were made from 1.72 to 1.75 (maybe on bluetooth?) :?:

Okay, here'a list of errors I get trying to upgrade my Himalaya to the 1.75 OS ROM. With the software provided (in the HI_DT_NorwayRetail_WWE_17501_BL1.06_604_11800_Ship.exe) I get a Error 201: GET DEVICE DATA ERROR.
With the 'regular' software (HimaUpgradeUt.exe and the others) I use to flash, I get an ERROR 102: CE IMAGE FILE CHECKSUM ERROR.

Here I come with the results of my new upgrade.
Actually the 1.75 did not come with some really needed improvements . CearType is still ugly (patch it from the 1.60.00 OS). Microsoft Reader is still 2.3.3 (install 2.4 if you want). Camera 2.1 and album versions are the same as the one provided with the old OS (use the Special XDA-Developers 2.51 one).
The thing I'd like to know is how to determine if the Bluetooth pairing security update is in this OS ROM. Other than that, the ROM seems to be pretty stable, like the 1.72.00 WWE was. I would not recomment to update in a hurry. Just wait for your next 'format cycle' to come.

what i have is te last beta version of t-mob 1.72.wwe boot version is 1.02
when i try to upgrade it with your version i get the following error

Did you notice differences between 1.14 and 1.17 ?
You can upgrade every part separately from the others.
Just delete the NBF's you dont want to upgrade
Radio.nbf = Radio ROM
NK.nbf = OS ROM
MS_.nbf = ExtROM
Does this upgrade of the Radio only requires a hard-reset at the end ?
did a radio upgrade only
(removed the OS and Extended rom bkf files).
Device is dead (displays SERIAL after Cold Reboot).
Recommandation: don't do RADIO only, upgrade OS + Radio + Extended Rom whatever you're told.
btw, Extended Rom is corrupted.
I noticed the extROM was not OK.
Just uploaded a new archive wich should do the job ok.

I re-flashed with the latest Rom from IMATE I had (1.72WWE), but upgraded the radio to 1.17 by the way.
Now I have to recreate a new extended ROM ...
@ Gratefuled: My ExtRom was ok, only the NBF file to be used to flash was corrupted. This means that in the first upload version of the upgrade archive (see first post inthis thread) you could simply NOT upgrade the extRom (upgrade utility refuses it).
The currently available RUU172901_eDsuBsofT.exe should be ok.
@tde: The ExtRom in the new version should be ok. The OS rom inside my archive is the same as your iMate OS rom (Qtek and iMate 1.72.00WWE OS roms are the same).

Basically you can. But for the extended rom contents I would advise you to get in contact with others on Proximus for the specific network (ie GPRS) settings.
Also, you might not like the T-Mobile startup splash screen.
And: You HAVE to update the "country id" (=operator/device identifier)

What bootimage does it have?. Does it has the T-mobile BETA bootimage?. I don't mind the T-mobile image, just not the beta part

The upgrade from 1.60 ROm should be step forward, you're right. (if your original was T-Mo Operator NL)
Blackberry stuff is not included on Official 1.72.190 (T-Mo)

Battery Life Issues After Upgrade
Prior to 1.72 ROM (was using 1.60) my battery life bar on the Today screen would read between 5:50 and 6:08 after a FULL charge.
After 1.72 ROM upgrade my battery life has shown between 3:57 and 4:50 at most after a FULL charge.
I thought battery life was supposed to be improved. Can anyone offer insight?

It is easy to open that one with ER2003Edit which can be downloaded from this site. Within ER2003Edit, you can extract anything you like from the nbf.
Password is 0x20040305 (as for all recent ExtROM nbf files).

I just logged into the Dopod site and can't see any new ROM listed. The patch for Telstra 3G is listed under "System Update" and nothing else.
I figured out problem, my account is registered to Australia - not Singapore.
I think the ROM been tk out......can't even find it on the website..
I've run this ROM for three days now -- no problems to speak of. I still think the South Africa HTC ROM is more polished. Yes, it has been removed from the dopod (singapore) website -- maybe moved to dopod Australia/New Zealand? Would make more sense.
It's now in the upload section on the FTP site -- will PM Pof to move it and create a download link on the wiki.

Reports say that the Bluetooth on/off bug is fixed and the problem with PocketPlus Battery Bar in the SA ROM is fixed, how about this ROM?
Guys/Girls this was the release ROM from two months ago... no changes... This does not include the Telstra 850Mhz fix. That needs to be applied after... Anyone wanting the ExtROM it is in the WIKI... I extracted it a month ago...

The newer rom (11/2006) post in the subject has been removed by Dopod. Thus the Dopod website now only shows the ones from Aug (08/2006)..

the file your uploading is still the Ship Rom which is dated two months ago and does not fix the Telstra 850Mhz issue.
I just got four Dopod 838Pro's delivered today (from Vodafone) and they have the same EXTENDED ROM as the one I got several weeks ago from a local reseller.

Did someone ever tried to run the files and get working Hebrew at the end ?
I have Imate JasJam . The Ext. Rom is of HTC Tytn can any damage might happen ? Please advice.

If you provide the files I can install them on a WM6 emulator and see what happens, then I could truy it on my own Hermes which is running LVSW edition of WM6
I think the files I need are:

I have been myself looking for the External ROM of one of the Israeli Hermeses but without any luck, Untill now that is I hope....

I have tried also to intall WM6, the problem that the Hebrew version installed by eyron supports only WM2005.
And the version istalled is an OEM CAB version without any registration.
Eyron do provide a working BETA version, but you have to register as a trial for a week or purchase it - 300 shekels
The only thing to do is to wait and hope that when Orange offer an upgrade to WM6 it will without any additional cost.

I have just tryed to install it on an WM Emulator WM5 & WM6 but in both cases it showed Hebrew backwards and it kept on telling me that the software was illegaly installed.
Further it is not Eiron but PDAC (or is it the same?) Strange though... On WM6 it installed succesfully so I presume it is compatible with WM6. Can you see if there is somekind reg key tha tha to be installed?? I also installed the HebrewCert.cab hoping that that would solve the problem but Alais

i tried it as well on black shadow
the hebrew installed ok, and i didnt get a message it was illegal, though it seems to be a non hardware keyboard version, becasue the keyboard tab is missing....

i'd appreciate it as well. especially the intetnet and mms cabs

PDAC uses an IMEI check, it will always install but only on the TyTN PDAC will authenticate and run.
I know of one test I trust(on a jasjam) - PDAC was not authenticated, you can try.
on WM6 - you`ll need to use the Enabled mode(English UI), I also recommend removing all MUI files(040d.mui) from the windows folder.
the best heb currently for jasjam/tytn is eyron's older beta(not the new one!)

Nope and I was stupid enough to delete mine while upgrading to WM6.
This is a call for Cellcom IL JJ users with the ability to mount/copy/rapidshare JJ Ext. rom for community benefit. I think that most that can, hang out here anyway (and not elsewhere)....

anyways, i'd really aprreciate the Cellcom JJ ext. rom if anyone can help with it...

but what is the Default_TelmapNav.cab? some kind of navigation sofware?? With or without MAPS? anybody ?

On the Emulator it did not work and told me that the version is unregistered. BUT the good news is that there was nothing said about incompatibility with WM6 so I assume that the Cellcom OEM version is compatible with WM6. So now who has the guts to test it on aWM6 or WM5 machine and see if the registration is Required or not?? I think the prog sees that this is no HERMES device and that is why it keeps asking to register. I would try it out myself on my MDA VARIO II with LVSW's WM6 on it but tomorrow is again the week starting and I can not afford to Cripple my device....
How can I use this rom? All I need is to be able to read hebrew on the internet with the english WM6 rom. I would like to leave the english interface for my Hermes. I'd try the Orange ExtROM on my Cingular 8525, but I could read the hebrew from left to right only. What should I do to make it work with the internet? (without pay any $ or shekels)

I did try it on the black 2.5 rom couple weeks ago. it was working with no problems. I just couldn't change it to read from right to left and like you said it state version is unregistered.
Is there any way to install the 040d files that will let me read the hebrew on the internet?
