I *think* there is an application to unlock the IIs on this forum somewhere, you will need to search.
For the IIi there is only www.imei-check.co.uk
I used that one and had it unlocked in a couple of minutes.

First of all, I have to say that I'm a new user of softbank and a new member of xda-developer,
As I tryied to unlock the WM5 rom in my HTC Softbank Japanese version by using HTweakC for Hermes / HTweakC Version 2, but didn't success.
I've checked the SPL is 1.04, and then I test the CID with mtty.exe,
found it is not fully unlocked, because the code is not a formal type as the sources which downloaded from the web,
I know there were only three formal code for SuperCID.
So the questions are:
1. Does it need fully unlock before deleting files in HTC WM5 rom files.
2. SPL1.04 equal to fully unlocked ?

You can use every WWE ROM around the Niki Section! I recomened at the moment Mary 0.3.3 instead of tom_codon's Niki Project v2! But when tom finished his ROM, this would be the best ROM till the next big ROM project!

Unlocking SID didn't work for me using SID Unlocker. Google for unlocking Niki to get a unlocking code (you need to pay for it, and you need a SIM from another provider to enter unlocking code).
But you don't need unlocking SID for flashing any ROMs! Also the phone is unlocked (ROM, not SID!) as long you have hardspl installed. It won't be overwritten by flashing a ROM.
Niki Project didn't work for me, best I tried was Gullum's. Fast and stable and it uses Manilla
SID Unlock works fine here. Already unlockes some Nikes with the tools provided here
hi there guys i have a vario 3.. and a vario 1 my vario 1 is a tmobile rom and works fine.. my friend came over with his vario 1 on a vodafone g4 rom and its sucks its soo slow and crashes all the time.. i have no idea where to start to get a suitable rom for the phone its unlocked... i have no idea if its CID unlocked but he says it is..... where do i start im lost..... G4 device all uncloked apparently lol.... but i tihnk on the tmobile site there rom is for a g3...... oh 1 more thing if i flash a rom and the CID isent unlocked do i brick it

Ok,firstly,a G4 phone cannot be CID unlocked like a G3 phone,however, it can be upgraded to latest custom build wm6.1 rom through either SoftSPL or HardSPL.You can read about them in the G4 forum,if you wish to upgrade to wm6.
Secondly,all official roms are meant for flashing to both the devices,regardless being G3 or G4,they contain IPL/SPL for both the devices,when the RUU is run to flash it determines the version of the phone and will only flash the appropriate IPL/SPL(Bootloaders),therefore,all the Official Stock roms posted at the carrier's official website are safe and can be flashed to both the devices.

I have a HTC with japanese language. and I wnat to upload a wwe rom.because the rom is japanese. I downloaded upgrading rom RUU_Hermes_QTEK_WWE_2.11.255.1_102_6275_1.38.00.10 _108_Ship.exe
but can not upload it, allways geting error [294], pls I need urgent to converet this device into wwe rom. any help just urgent need.

I played with it but now in bootloader mode SPL shows 1.11

You needed to do some reading about the softbank, these are a major problem to unlock and upgrade depending on what version you have. In all likelyhood you have bricked your Hermes.
Do some research to see but most people don't like to give advice on the softbanks as no one likes to be responsible for the death of another persons Hermes....
I already read all the forum but could not find any solution, many document and post read about softbank, but never could upload WWE rom
hope someone will explain a proper way..
